Highly recommended! The room was excellent and very spacious. The bed was big enough for me and my child; since we booked for two adults and one child, they even provided an extra bed, so we had three beds in total! The location is fantastic. It's very close to the train station and Cologne Cathedral, just a 5-minute walk away, yet it's tucked away from the main hustle, which made us feel quite safe and secure. We took a stroll near the hotel and discovered a highly-rated restaurant. We tried some authentic German cuisine there, and it was quite good. Cologne is truly wonderful; we even got some photos just like Jay Chou's! I highly recommend Trip.com! All our hotels for this Europe trip were booked through them, and it gave us great peace of mind. I compared their prices with several major platforms, and they truly offered the best rates. Highly, highly recommended!

The level of cleanliness of the room did not meet my expectations. There were a number of long hairs on the floor of the bathroom which had clearly not been cleaned properly The reception were apologetic and I was moved to another room - the bathroom also had some hairs. Cologne is a beautiful city and the hotel is well located, however it was overpriced for the standard unfortunately. I wish I had booked one of the other hotels and I definitely will next time. There should not be a number of hairs on the floor if it is properly cleaned. Very disappointed

Had a lovely stay, the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We requested a room close to the elevator and they gave us a spacious one just as we asked. The location is fantastic, especially if you're visiting during the Christmas market season; everything is within walking distance. The only downsides were the weak internet connection, so it’s better to have your own data plan if you rely on being online, and bed sheets are only changed upon request. Overall, still a pleasant experience and would recommend for the location, helpful staff and lovely spacious rooms!

My stay here was fantastic! The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation access. The front desk staff were warm and efficient, making check-in very quick. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was good, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The breakfast offered a wide variety and tasted great. The staff were very kind, but it seemed many guests were having trouble with the self-check-in, so they were swamped, and it took a while from check-in until I could get into my room. However, I was comfortable once I got into the room.

On arrival day, we were informed of a planned electricity power outage in all the rooms for 4 hours during our stay which resulted in no lighting, WiFi or TV working. While I understand that maintenance issues are necessary in all hotels, it would have been nice if management had made a small offer of compensation such as restaurant voucher, to guests impacted by this outage, but unfortunately no such offer was made. This has somewhat spoiled the experience of what would otherwise have been a very good hotel.

The double-glazed windows provide great soundproofing; despite being right next to the railway tracks, it was surprisingly quiet. The Dorint hotel is in a very central location with wonderful views of the cathedral. The staff were very professional (from pre-trip communication to check-in and check-out) and super friendly. The hotel is huge and has lifts to all floors. The room was large with ample furniture (larger bed than usual, built-in suitcase stand, full desk, armchair) and the decor a palimpsest of older furniture zhuzhed up with wall coverings, a decorative vase, floor lights in addition to bedside table lamps and desk light, etc. There was even a kettle to make tea and coffee, and a fridge, which was much appreciated! The bed was on the soft side and the pillows rather thin and fluffy, which was not quite to my liking. However, the blackout curtains and well-insulated windows made for a quiet night's sleep, despite the roads and building sites outside. It was still possible to open one window to let fresh air in. All in all, a very good experience.
