A fantastic stay! Even after we checked out, they went the extra mile to ensure our booked car's pick-up location was accurate.

I originally booked one of the renovated rooms and there is a bit of fiasco in the first day when I came back to the room it just reeked of raw sewage, almost like a pipe it exploded, and I immediately called housekeeping who sprayed but said that they would move me to a different suite which is the one in the photos. This is one of the more expensive suites and it’s basic and similar in comparison to the renovated suite. However, renovated suite looks like it was renovated back in 1990s as the other suite was much nicer and more modern Overall, the service was fantastic. The food in the breakfast was delicious. The pool is nice. I’ll be at a little quiet and overall it’s a great location if you wanna go out to different sites or if you just wanna cruise the mall or do some quick shopping 

Warm, friendly staff who gave good and practical advice about the protests and safety, much appreciated . Housekeeping was impeccable and thoughtful and really prompt with adhoc requests.  Rooms are large (size norms from a different time) and the mix of analog vintage features and updated features is charming. Clear and strong WIFI , clean rooms especially for tropical setting The buffet spread is excellent quality, clean and a good mix of delicious local and international continental options.  The spa is lovely, though service can vary - I had a lovely therapist and my friend’s therapist was using her phone during the session (which is not acceptable at any massage place, what more at this spot) incongruous with the very high service and hospitality standards set by the rest of the staff. Would come back and stay here again!

The coffee in the morning was absolutely amazing, though I wasn't really a fan of the other food. The room facilities were complete, but the bedsheets looked quite old and not very clean. The housekeeping staff did a great job tidying up my clothes and belongings, showing a much better service awareness than what I've experienced domestically. All the hotel staff spoke excellent English, making communication a breeze.

Albeit being a bit dated, the service was very warm and the breakfast selection was awesome! Everyone had smiles on their faces and it was a very welcoming stay in the heart of the city.

Staying at Shangri-La Surabaya was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The service was warm and professional — every staff member went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and well taken care of. The room was spacious, clean, and elegantly furnished with a perfect balance of comfort and luxury. I especially appreciated the plush bedding and thoughtful amenities. The view from the room was also a plus, offering a peaceful cityscape that felt relaxing after a long day. Breakfast was a highlight — the variety was impressive, from local Indonesian favorites to Western and Asian dishes. The pool area and lush garden surroundings made it easy to forget you were in the middle of a busy city. Location-wise, it's conveniently close to malls, restaurants, and main roads, yet the hotel itself feels like a serene escape. Would definitely recommend Shangri-La Surabaya to anyone looking for a five-star experience with genuine hospitality.

The hotel is clean and spacious. Very well located in the centre of the city with Jl. Tunjungan just outside of the hotel. The soundproofing is very good that we barely hear any noise from a construction site just beside the hotel. Breakfast is excellent with plenty of food choices and tasty though. Highly recommended.

Whether it's relaxing at the amenities or just enjoying the overall vibe, everything feels well thought out and guest-focused. The location was great, near to the biggest mall in Indonesia(Pakuwon mall). The lobby was an easy access to drop off your guest.
