Reviews From Real Travelers
Windows opened out to greens and a garden. Bed was comfortable and the appearance of the both the room and the entire hotel pleasant. We enjoyed spectacular breakfasts! The Browne Room (bar) was closed but we spent some time in the downstairs bar. Staff was exceedingly adept and pleasant, at reception, in the dining room, and also in the bar. We were encouraged to enjoy the whisky tasting experience and did! But one of the reasons for encouraging us was that we'd learn a fair amount about the different whiskeys. Our server knew less than we did.

A noteworthy and very special hotel. Moving beyond the history and quality of the facility, the real gems of Great Southern are its staff members. Especially commendable is Maria - the Assistant Front Office Manager - who skillfully and professionally assisted us with an issue that many might have assigned to our being picky Americans. The Concierge and Bell teams are also outstanding and most helpful. Great Southern might be an older facility, but its commitment to guest satisfaction is state-of-the-art.

The hotel is on the seaside of Dingle, not far from the town center and only a 10-minute walk away. The room had a nice view of the bay. Desy at the front desk was very enthusiastic to help us call the car rental company to solve the tire problem. Thank you very much. The breakfast was very rich. The three of them ordered traditional Irish breakfast, Belgian waffles, boiled eggs, and a variety of self-service breads, fruit cups, and milk juices. There are heated swimming pools, Fungie Kids Club, etc. The children's club can be hosted, and children have fun in it. Even though we only stayed for one night, we had a great time here.
- Wangwangyu
Such a beautiful clean hotel, within walking distance of the town. Great facilities for all the family. Spa is beautiful and relaxing, especially the hot tub outside, looking out over Dingle Bay. All the staff were amazing especially Danny, Graham, Sharon and staff in the Spa. They made us so welcome and looked after us during our stay. We will definitely be returning.

Reviews From Real Travelers
I can't understand how anybody would fault this hotel. It is a 100% five star experience. I was worried to read some revies that rooms were dated but this is untrue. The decor of the rooms is very classic with carpets and medium dark wood furniture, but in pristine condition as this hotel has been reburnished. Not a scuff mark to be seen anywhere. We had a superior room on the 4th floor which was pure luxury. Really large and bright with big windows and patio door to balcony and a gorgeous view. A large bathroom with separate bath and walk in shower and a large storage, dressing room area at the entrance with its own full length mirror. Complimentary chocolates were sent up on arrival, a lovely touch as we were celebrating my birthday. The staff at this hotel are exceptional, especially at reception and in the dining room. They are extremely courteous, professional and nothing is too much trouble. The food is also top class, we had breakfast and dinner. My only quibble would be the decor of the dining room but that's a personal thing. In a five star hotel I would prefer more traditional with elaborate napery and table ware and a smaller dining room, or one more partitioned for a cosier, more intimate feel. Here the decor is very ultra modern. It is huge and open plan with very modern table placements which I would find just a little cold. The restaurant overlooks the beautiful Gap of Dunloe which is breathtaking and we were lucky to get a window table at breakfast. But far from the window or after dark you don't have that experience. But overall this hotel is just fabulous, I'd highly recommend it and go back in a heartbeat. Roll on the next birthday!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception on the grounds of Dunloe Hotel. From our very first informal walk around to checking out after our wedding it was a first class experience. The hotel decor is amazing, the location and views are spectacular and the staff were just a dream to work with. Every guest commented on how lovely all the staff were and how delicious the wedding meal was. I could not fault a thing. There was a change of personnel during the planning process and it did not make any difference. The staff know and have weddings down to a tea. It was an extremely easy, stress free process with the staff having absolutely everything covered. We really had the most amazing day and I could not have wished for anything more. Well done to all staff, it was an extreme pleasure to hold our wedding there!

The check-in seamless, staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We had a dog too and separate entrance was really handy. The room was spotless, and very generous in size with a beautiful view of the bay. We ate both nights in the hotel, and the food was great quality and very tasty. Very close to the village. Sneem is a magical place, and so worth a visit. Some must do things while in sneem: Eat in one of the restaurants in the village, amazing quality, The meat in the local butcher is amazing, try the black pudding, Go for a walk up the mountains, Go for a walk on the beach, Go for a walk along the river ..

The hotel environment is quite good. The rooms are also comfortable. The hotel is located on the edge of town and is easy to find. The waiters are warm and polite. Breakfast is freshly cooked. You need to tell the front desk the breakfast time one night in advance so that they can arrange it easily. There are many parking spaces for casual parking. If there are a lot of people, you can also book an apartment, which is in the same place as the hotel. The car can also be driven downstairs, which is very convenient.

Myself and my family stayed here for one night so we didn't see all the facilities but we had a wonderful stay. We ordered an inter-connecting family room and it was huge! We had two very spacious, spotless bathrooms and very large bedrooms connected by an internal door. The beds were comfortable and the air-conditioning was very effective during the heat-wave. The breakfast was nice and the staff were all very pleasant. It was easy to park in the car park provided. I'd highly recommend a stay here.

We traveled to Killarney for a holiday in April. I got a fabulous room at a very reasonable price in this hotel. This place has a fantastic view of the lakes and the mountains, and the picturesque trails from the campus are also worth a try. Definitely recommend anyone who visits Killarney to stay here. I wish we had more days to stay!!

My husband, myself and two other couples recently spent a fabulous two nights at The Victoria during our holiday tour of Ireland. During our nearly 3-week holiday we stayed in 10 different hotels around Ireland and Scotland and the Victoria House is at the top of the list. The property is beautiful, the rooms were immaculately clean, location is great, food is wonderful and the staff was amazing. Upon check-in, we were warmly greeted by Maura and she continued to charm, educate, and entertain us throughout our stay. She was kind, helpful, funny and all around lovely. She readily facilitated reservations and taxis when we needed them, taught us a little Gaelic, gave us tips on local establishments. She is a wonderful asset to the establishment. We also had breakfast in the hotel both mornings and it was delicious--among the best Irish breakfasts we enjoyed during our time in Ireland. Fresh and tasty. The brown bread was wonderful, black pudding delicious and the servers were just lovely. Friendly, funny and helpful. We also enjoyed dinner in the restaurant one evening and it was delicious as well. Our server there was great as well. The bar staff was superb too, always friendly and happy to meet our requests. The amenities of the hotel were also lovely, we enjoyed relaxing in the 2nd floor lounge area together after our days of touring. The overall location was great, we took a lovely walk back from the Muckross House one of our days there and enjoyed the National Park and its lovely scenery. Overall, we have only positive things to say about our stay at the Victoria and that doesn't always happen while traveling. If we are ever blessed enough to find ourselves back in beautiful Kilarney we would choose to stay here again. Thank to everyone, especially Maura.

Ard Na Sidhe is a beautiful hotel in an amazing setting with outstanding service in every way. The people are helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and the view from every window was spectacular. We drove into the very cute town of Killorglin and ate at Bunker's Pub, which was great. We had a private tour of the Dingle Peninsula which was awesome. So all in all it was fabulous!

Beautiful farm house. Comfy rooms. Sean is a great host. Very knowledgeable, personable, and willing to give his local tips while visiting. The 1200+ year old on-site burial ground is a bit of a walk away, we didn’t have time in our schedule to visit it but Sean was ready to navigate. Something to consider working into your itinerary if you choose to stay here.

PROS: Exceptionally clean. Everything seemed relatively new. Beautifully quiet. Nice warm room. Bedding, décor, and furnishings were all quite nice and well selected. CONS: No lounge or living room type common area for guests to sit comfortably with only one basic office chair provided in the room. Quite simply, it was too sp****ly furnished and appointed. Wi-fi was very sketchy (despite numerous reboots) and even stopped working completely for quite some time. The owner since claimed to have “super fast Wi-Fi” and that we should have addressed Wi-fi issues on-site, but we had no idea how to find the proprietor once he handed us the room keys and then basically disappeared for the duration of our stay (behind one of the closed doors on the property?). In short, we could not address the Wi-fi issues as he suggested. There were no TV’s in the entire property, which the owner stated was done on purpose to provide a “quiet and peaceful experience”. That seems nice enough, but without reliable working Wi-fi, the property became an isolated entrapment while we stared at the walls for several hours. A tomb is a “quiet and peaceful experience”, but that doesn’t necessarily make it pleasant. By normal Irish standards for hotels, 4:30 pm check-in and 10:30 am check-out times were quite late and early respectively, which is not common for Ireland as the owner subsequently claimed. We stayed in more than 30 hotels in Ireland and not one of them provided so little overall time. The typical turnaround from check-in to check-out (in all of 2100 miles we traveled around Ireland) was about an hour longer, one way or another. Responding to this, the owner quite rudely wrote (his quote) that we “would need to familiarise yourself with the basics before travelling somewhere”. To that, I can only say we are traveling 110 days this year in 16 different countries and have traveled to about 40 countries before. We plan our journeys exhaustively. I suggest rather than provide insulting remarks about our travel abilities, which are highly tuned and time-tested, perhaps this property’s management should listen to useful customer input about things which were not customary and inferior to competitors. Breakfast was an additional charge which rather goes against the ENTIRE notion of calling oneself a B&B. In retrospect, on closer examination, I concede the advertised rates for the property apparently included a non-breakfast option, but it’s important to note that is not always completely obvious when viewing typical hotel booking sites. Addressing this, the owner wrote that “it looks like you had no idea what you were booking and were not looking at the location or anything at that time”. Overlooking the blatant rudeness of that comment, our situation was actually quite the contrary, and we were keenly familiar with the location, having already spent a total of 25 days traversing the entire west coast of Ireland throughout both rural and urban areas before
