Nestled in a unique part of Halifax, this tranquil retreat is surrounded by lakes, ocean, hiking trails, and the city's largest yacht club. Just 15 minutes from downtown, it offers the peace of the countryside with the convenience of city living.
Guests will have private use of the entire lower level of the house along with the lower level patio.
Guests may also use the backyard, the waterfront, and the dock, although these areas may also be shared with the owner and his guests from time to time.
Guests may get in touch with the owner at all times while on the property by email, text, or mobile phone.
Prior to entering and after leaving the property, guests may contact the owner any time by email or Monday to Friday, excluding holidays, 9am-5pm Atlantic Time, by text or mobile phone.
Separate and private entrance, self contained above ground basement apartment. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. Bathroom is equipped with a toilet, a shower and a sink.
Includes heat. No air conditioning but apartment stays relatively cool in the summer. Open screened windows for ocean breeze and/or use of fans provided.
Kitchenette includes small Microwave Oven, Toaster, Single serve Keurig with coffee and tea pods provided. Includes fridge with freezer, cutlery, plates, bowels, glasses, wine glasses.
Small eating table with four stool chairs (See Picture).
Entertainment and Lounging area includes 4 Power Reclining Theatre Chairs, with tray tables and cup holders.
Covered outdoor patio with 4 Adirondack style chairs.
Walk to a rock beach, with a dock. Dock has a swim latter for easy access in and out of the water (Check conditions with Municipal water quality reports before swimming in any lakes or ocean in Nova Scotia).
Other details to note
**This is an above-ground basement unit, so you may occasionally hear normal household noises from the occupants upstairs.**
**Additionally, the furnace is located in the basement which will produce some noise while operating.**
Beach and dock is private. May share with owner.
This is not a sandy shoreline but you may swim at your own risk. Always check Halifax Regional Municipalities Beaches water quality reports prior to swimming at any beaches in the Halifax Regional Municipality. There are many sandy beaches on both lakes and ocean within a 5 minute drive from the property and beyond.
There is a mooring and dock space available if you are traveling by boat or wish to launch a boat at the nearby boat launch. Both are subject to boat weight and weather. If severe weather is reported, the boat can be moved to the nearby Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron (RNSYS) for safe berthing (subject To RNSYS berthing fees).
