Pros: hotel exterior and surrounding is green, quiet and relaxing with the river just besides and shaded with trees. Room is spacious and clean. Staffs were helpful where they can. Cons: Room we had look old and certain elements did not look well maintained, eg our curtains were broken and the air conditioning and bathroom has a musty smell. No lifts to our room at level 3 but it was ok for us as we only had small suitcases. May need to consider if travellers may have difficulty climbing the stairs. No restaurants or cafes on site. Summary: the hotel has so much potential to be a great place to stay and relax. Wear and tear is obvious and rooms need upgrading. Enjoyed the nature but not so much the room.

Great location to unwind from the town. The villa were nice for nature lover. I love the surrounding. If they advertise to attract many tourist, it should be great.

The house location is unique. So high, plus located near the mountain, bring cool breeze air in the morning & night. But quite hot during day time as it faces west. However every room has an air cond so it's ok. The beds are not really comfortable as all are old already, suit the price i guest. If the owner can provide mineral water or drink water filter, would be great. As it's quite hard to find in the area, even speedmart also sold out mineral water there 😂

My 3rd time stay at this hotel. Overall i can say is the first (2022) and second (2023) better than this time (2025). I don't know why, but I think they need to upgrade their facilities (shower, television channel, mini refrigerator, cleanliness of mattress, got stain on it) cause its look old ☹️. But, the service soo good. They sooo friendly and welcoming. I feel very comfortable and make me want to stay again and again at Novotel whenever I go to Taiping. Btw, their breakfast quite good.

Located at the centre of the town, our room facing the TaiPing lake with stunning view. Hotel surrounded by many local eateries with nice local foods. Hotel staffs are friendly and attentive. One hour drive to nearby Kuala Kangsar Royal town of Perak with lots of historical sites.

Hotel Grand Baron is a great place to stay if you want quiet and peaceful hotel. About 2 km from Taiping center, so you might need to drive or take a cab/grab to move around Taiping town. But if you like the nature, it is quite near to Burmese pool, Bukit Larut, Zoo Taiping and Taman Tasik Taiping

Pros : Simple hotel. Self check in. There were 99 Speedmart, Dobi and restaurant nearby the hotel. Cons : No door marking if you need for housekeeping. Housekeeping in late afternoon. No basic toileteries available in the room. Need to bring your own.

The place was nice, just that on check out day it was quite noisy outside as there's a shooting 🤣 but other than that, all good. Need to pay for parking ya if going on weekdays, can install the Park@Perak app to pay.

We arrived at the hotel around 2 AM, and the check-in process was smooth even at that hour. Since it was already dark, we couldn’t see much when we checked in. But to our surprise, our room had a balcony with a stunning mountain view — such a lovely sight to wake up to in the morning! The room was decent and comfortable, with a water heater in the bathroom. All basic toiletries were provided, which made our stay very convenient. A good, fuss-free place to rest. There’s also a 7-Eleven just a few steps away from the hotel — super handy for quick snacks or essentials. And if you're driving, the hotel has underground parking space too, which is definitely a plus.

A really nice place outside of the old city in a busy new area with malls on the doorstep. Be aware, the guy on reception tried to charge me a tax and I had to show him my booking to get the money back as trip had included it in the cost. Other than that a very nice place.

We came here for the UTMB ultra trail run and spent two nights at this hotel. Great location with food court next to it and a mall opposite, staffs are so friendly and helpful, room is clean, good price. Recommended!

The location is great, the front desk staff are very friendly, and there is an elevator to go upstairs. Mineral water and bread are provided for the guests. The room space is quite adequate, and the bed is very comfortable—I slept very well. The only downside is that my room was quite close to the elevator, and the soundproofing isn't great. I often heard the sound of the elevator doors opening and closing in the morning while I was sleeping. Everything else was excellent.

Stayed a night  last week. The accommodation is satisfactory, value for money. The room comes with towels and basic necessities and a simple yet satisfying breakfast is included in the price. There is no lifts, so for seniors is best to request for ground floor rooms.  However its location just across the Taiping Lake where one can enjoy a hassle free morning stroll along The Raintree Walk  taking in the serene beauty of landscape, with the arrival of storks and squirrels enjoying their morning climb says it all. Will definitely stay there again.  Thumps-up to their helpful and friendly staffs too.

Won't recommend to friend and family. First, my commend will only apply if you go during school / public holiday. This is because the sound insulation is god damn bad especially the room beside you is occupied with children. Seriously my whole family is being woke up by ”natural alarm” (screaming and crying of children starting from 7am and it last for two hours) the noise is big enough like beside your ears, and you are no way to sleep back. Second, the bedsheet makes my parents feel itchy (dustmite bedbug) and they really got bad sleeping experience. Third, the swimming pool is full of kids during day time if you go during school holiday and I dare you won't want to go for a swim anymore...
