We stayed at this hotel during the Chinese New Year holiday and had a wonderful experience. The hotel feels new and modern, with a delightful fragrance throughout—especially in the hallways. Our favorite aspects were the spacious room and the stunning bathtub overlooking the ocean. The kids absolutely loved it! The hotel's beachfront location is a major plus. Even though we visited in winter, we were lucky enough to experience snowfall on the beach, which felt surreal and added a magical touch to our stay. The indoor swimming pool on the top floor is decent, offering great views, while breakfast was plentiful and varied. We particularly enjoyed the pastries section. The Chinese restaurant next to the swimming pool is highly recommended—perfect for when you don’t feel like going out, and the food was delicious. The in-room dining service was also excellent. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I’m already looking forward to returning in the summer to try their outdoor swimming pool, which was closed during winter.

Service: The lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly. She assisted us with our luggage and thoroughly checked the stroller for us when we rented it. Her service absolutely deserves full marks. Facilities: The room felt a bit small, especially compared to the 40-square-meter rooms we had at two previous hotels in Chengde. With our substantial luggage, our elderly companions found it quite cramped. Additionally, despite the air purifier running, both of our two rooms had a noticeable, unpleasant odor. Parking: Parking was a bit challenging. Although staff members were available to guide us to a spot, parking spaces directly outside the hotel entrance were very limited. Environment: The surrounding area is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, a real escape from the hustle and bustle. Getting to the beach was also quite convenient. Overall Recommendation: If you're traveling light, not driving, and aren't particular about room size, I would personally still highly recommend this place.

I had a wonderful 4-day stay at this Ibis Hotel. The location is absolutely perfect — it’s connected to a shopping mall and surrounded by many food shops, which made everything so convenient. Whether I needed a quick meal or wanted to do some shopping, everything was just a few steps away. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. Housekeeping did a great job every day, and I really appreciated that they generously provided extra bottles of water during my stay. It’s those small details that make a big difference. Friendly, accommodating service, especially the receptionist staff. A wide selection of breakfast foods, including local farm grown produce. There is a very good Korean restaurant next to the hotel. The owner saids it's been there for about 26 years. The only inconvenience is that the shower stall is clear glass, and the toilet is in open view. When one person is taking a shower or using the toilet, the other person can't use the bathroom sink and mirror to wash her face and put-on/take-off make-up. It would be a vast improvement if the hotel can replace the clear glass shower stall with frosted glass or at least wrap the shower stall with frosted glass stickers. The hotel would have been excellent if not for the clear glass shower stall.

Hotel location is very good. Just near of the centre and great seafood restaurants. Hotel lobby and restaurant looks a bit worn but rooms are very modern and clean. Using AC is challenging for foreigners but with translator app and after 15 minutes of brainstorming it will start to work as it should be :). Breakfast was Chinese bit tasty and staff was friendly.

There are touts outside the hotel and train station. Cab is around 10 rmb to the hotel from station. Touts will charge 20rmb. Touts will ask u to go to the further great wall at 20 rmb. Then when u are there they will aggressively tell u that it's difficult to get a cab. They will try to bring you to further places or get u to book them for a day for 100 rmb. Avoid! They will be rude when U want to go with your itinerary and they drive recklessly. There seems to be a gang of them outside. The hotel is a bit run down and needs some maintenance. The shower handle was falling off. So is the lift railings. Other than that it is clean. supper and breakfast was disappointing if u are from Malaysia or Singapore.

We stayed for two nights for Dragon Boat Festival, and we could not be happier we chose this hotel to get to know Qinghuangdao. The hotel is very clean, no angle of it looks old. Our suite had a bathtub which is a great way to relax. The location is absolutely perfect - you're a stone throw away from the sea, and within walking distance of nice places to go for lunch or dinner. The staff didn't speak English, but they were very kind to us and answered all the questions we had. I highly recommend this hotel. Breakfast was the least appealing part of it. The food was very bland, and variety was a bit lacking in my opinion. I don't mind having traditional Chinese breakfast (I've been living here for years) but even that was flavorless and cold.

It happened to be the Dragon Boat Festival when I stayed at Shanhaiguan Wanghai Resort. The reception was warm and gave me a bracelet to ward off evil spirits. The breakfast was delicious and I ate rice dumplings. The room was tidy and clean. The cleaning lady responded to my requests and gave me a few more bottles of mineral water. I felt like a guest in the resort. It is very close to the Laolongtou Scenic Area and it is very convenient to walk there. In particular, there are four small buildings of the Eight-Power Allied Forces Barracks, which are national key cultural relics protection units, and there are sweet and bitter wells with different underground water quality within ten meters. For me, who loves to visit ancient sites, it is an unexpected surprise.
