Hakata Fukuoka|1.44km from city center
The hotel is very close to the airport; a taxi ride costs no more than 2000 JPY, and the subway is also very convenient. The room is quite spacious, and toiletries, skincare products, and slippers are all provided. As it was New Year's, the hotel organized a series of events, such as a New Year's Eve concert and countdown in the lobby, giving out adzuki bean cakes, and hanging festive ornaments.
I left an item behind when checking out, and I was able to contact the hotel and retrieve it through Ctrip's dedicated customer service. The hotel arranged for EMS to ship it back to my home country. Communication with both Ctrip and the hotel's customer service was smooth, with quick and attentive responses.
The only minor drawbacks were that the hotel did not provide body lotion, and the sheets and comforter weren't quite comfortable enough.FromHK$716

The location is perfect, right outside Hakata Station and next to the bus stop for direct access to the airport's international terminal. It's a one-stop shop for shopping and travel convenience.
**Facilities:** The rooms are spacious and the facilities are new.
**Environment:** A highlight is enjoying breakfast on the rooftop while watching planes take off and land.
**Downside:** It is quite expensive, so the value for money is a bit low. This hotel is best suited for those who prioritize quality travel and are not sensitive to price.FromHK$1,702

This was my second stay here, and it was very comfortable. The hotel staff are all very enthusiastic and the service is excellent. The only downside is that the price was really expensive right before Christmas. The hotel is conveniently located right next to a mall where you can find drugstores, Onitsuka Tiger, Moussy, and Sanrio – a one-stop shop for everything! There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, including many popular bakeries, all within walking distance.FromHK$1,877

Absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Okura. Hands down the best Jap hotel we've stayed! Staff were incredibly polite, and we loved how the room was spacious and all the amenities were readily available - even comfy bedroom slippers, face towels (yes face towels, which are very uncommon in jap hotels) and 2 hairdryers. The bathroom had ample space for me to place me skincare and makeup products, and the toothpaste tasted good (I personally didn't like many other toothpastes in other jap hotels). Mugs for rinsing mouths were also made of ceramic with nice floral designs. There were enough hooks in the bathroom to place our dirty and clean clothes as well. Loved the blackout curtains and also that the toilet light doesn't flood the entire room with light (common in jap hotels), so my hubby could continue sleeping whilst I got ready for the day. Staff were also polite and greeted us each time we walked past, brought our luggage up to our hotel room, and facilitated a seamless check-in and check-out process. 2 bottles of fresh-tasting 550ml mineral water were also provided daily.FromHK$746

Not recommended.
The main reason is the inconvenient location. It's about a kilometer walk to the Tenjin area, and the subway station is in an awkward spot. Even if you take the train one stop to Tenjin-Minami, you still have a walk afterwards. I'd suggest staying closer to Tenjin, even if it means sacrificing a bit of space; proximity is better.
Cleanliness: Average. They didn't even clean up the previous guest's cotton swabs.
Service: Pretty good.
The hotel overall is quite old and doesn't even have a swimming pool. I don't think it's worth the price. Other than being a bit more spacious and having room for a suitcase, I don't see much else that's great about it.FromHK$700

The hotel is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Watanabe-dori Station (Nanakuma Line),
with easy access to both Hakata and Tenjin. The property is clean and well maintained, and the laundry facilities on the first floor are very practical.
A FamilyMart right across the street adds extra convenience.
Overall, great value for money and highly recommended.FromHK$492

Great stay at Canal City Washington Hotel! Perfect location right next to Canal City Hakata with lots of food and shopping nearby, and walkable to Hakata Station. Hakata Fukuoka|1.08km from city center
The hotel is technically in between 3 subway stations — Hakata (7 - 8 mins walk), Gion (7 - 8 mins walk), and Kushida Shrine (2 mins walk) — and also located conveniently near Canal City Hakata shopping mall, Kushida shrine, and many stores and restaurants nearby. The cleanliness of the hotel overall was good but a little less positive for the room itself, as some parts of the washroom’s privacy blinds looked like they aren’t cleaned regularly and edges of the room’s carpet were often not cleaned well (wearing slippers in the room and not touching the privacy blinds easily mitigates these concerns). A personal issue and warning for taller guests would be that the position of the toilet in the narrow bathroom (at least for the ‘cozy double’ room) requires users to face a section of the wall quite closely when seated, which would likely be uncomfortable/ impossible for people taller than 175 cm to use while sitting down (the attached photo is taken with a 0.6x camera lens). The air conditioning for the rooms was shared by a central air system which cooled the rooms well, but it is worth noting for those with sensitive noses that there was a very faint but noticeable odour of old cigarette smoke in the room despite the current no-smoke policy. The coin laundry room is very small with only 1 washing machine, 1 dryer, and 1 hybrid washer-dryer machine (also, no coin exchange machine is present), so I recommend washing mid-day or in the early evening if possible. The front desk receptionists and cleaning staff were kind and approachable (in both English and Japanese), the check-in and check-out processes were smooth, and the hotel did offer free luggage storage services after check-out. Overall, an enjoyable and budget-friendly stay.FromHK$464

Great location! The room was perfect for a solo traveler, and there's a nice common area on the ground floor for relaxing and charging devices. There's a bus stop right outside, and a subway station nearby that gets you to Hakata Station in just 10 minutes.FromHK$495

Excellent service from the hotel! They allowed us to leave our luggage for two nights even before checking in (as we’re taking a trip out of Fukuoka). Room is spacious for a Japan hotel standard. Only downside was the curtains that doesn’t seem to be blackout curtains. Breakfast has a decent spread! Convenient location but the nearest subway exit to the hotel does not have a lift / escalator though! The famous full full bakery and shin shin ramen ar just a few mins walk from the hotel.FromHK$496

Nakasu Fukuoka|0.6km from city center
The front desk service was pretty standard. The room was even smaller than ones in Tokyo; my small suitcase could only be opened by blocking the door, and I had to close it every time I left in the morning. I always had to plan carefully what to take out. Yet, it cost around 1000, and I'm not sure why hotels in Fukuoka generally seem a bit more expensive. However, the hotel's location is excellent, right next to the Nakasu River. A 100-meter walk to the left brings you to Don Quijote (Nakasu store), there's a supermarket downstairs (sashimi for 500-600 yen), and Anpanman Children's Museum & Park is just across the street. The hotel also offers free tea and coffee, and the breakfast voucher stub can be exchanged for dessert – I didn't notice it had a date, meaning it was for the same day's breakfast + same-day dessert exchange. Finally, a complaint about the air conditioner in the room; it blew directly onto the head of the bed, but turning it off made it too hot.FromHK$522

The hotel is about a 7-8 minute walk from Hakata Station's Chikushi Gate, which is quite convenient for getting around. Nearby, there's a Matsumoto Kiyoshi pharmacy and a Yodobashi Camera electronics store. Shopping options around Hakata Station are abundant, so the location is excellent.FromHK$452

Getting there: Take Exit 6 from the subway station, turn right, then right again at the Lawson convenience store. It's about an 8-10 minute walk to the hotel. (And there are many other hotels nearby).
Exit 6 doesn't have an escalator. The closest one is Exit 2, diagonally opposite Exit 6, less than 100 meters away.
Room: It's not big. Once you put down a 28-inch suitcase, there isn't much space left.
Breakfast: They have bread, which you can heat up yourself, some salads, cold dishes, pan-fried wagyu cubes (or slices), and curry rice. It's decent, nothing spectacular.
Other: There are free soft drinks, all tasting good. (There's also an all-you-can-drink beer option for 500 JPY, I think?).
To highlight the main points: I've stayed at this brand's hotel in Nakasu multiple times, and overall, this one is a notch below that. Specifically:
First, the reception area is very small. The restaurant, if you don't count the outdoor seating, feels a bit cramped.
Secondly, for breakfast, the Nakasu hotel offers grilled sausages, grilled fish, and they can make pork or beef rice bowls on the spot. Plus, they have my favorite seared toast, none of which are available here.
Of course, neither of these two hotels offers milk.
Finally, regarding location: if you have luggage, it's very convenient to take the elevator from Nakasu. Getting to this Tenjin hotel with luggage is too roundabout and troublesome.
If I had to name the biggest advantage of the Tenjin hotel, it's the abundance of fast-food restaurants along the way to the hotel, and its convenient access to Tenjin shopping (though it's still at least an 8-10 minute walk).FromHK$398

This hotel is excellent for its buffet breakfast selection with many quality Japanese food items as well as it’s very nice rooftop onsen with an open air area, so relaxing. It’s bathroom amenities are also very good quality. Rooms are all mainly small standard Japanese hotel size between 17 -21 sqm. Location is about 800m walking to Hakata station but there are other subways located closer. Will choose to return and stay here again.FromHK$1,250

The room is really dated. No enough air convention in the room and stuffy. The air-conditioning is in weak mode. I stayed for twice during my trip. The first 2 nights at rooms on 8/F, the WIFI is strong, the water pressure is strong. The lighting is too dim and the lamp at door entrance is out of order and not able to fix before I check out. The carpets and air conditioning make the room hot and stuffy. I asked staff to open the window for us to get fresh air but a bit noisy. Not good for light sleeper.
The second stays were allocated to 13/F floor, room is brighter and looks new. Alternatively, the WIFI is not stable and water pressure is not so strong. Not sure if it is about the high floor reason.
The staffs are professional and polite and helpful most of the time. Location and price are the key reason for staying. It would be good they could renovate the hotel and upgrade its facilities in future.FromHK$670
