Thought a lot about what review to give because there are some positives about the hotel - such as the friendliness of the staff, the situation of the hotel (smart side street), proximity to the centre of town, pleasant and comfortable communal areas both indoor and outside. However the big let down is the food. Breakfast was an adequate buffet which didn’t change that much day to day but it was fine. It was the half board evening meal that wasn’t good. There were 3 choices for starter & main course and one dessert. The options were very odd most evenings, certainly not restaurant standard and with zero thought to presentation. The photo shows one of our evening meals - everything item on the plate was beige, the chicken was dry and the rest tasteless. Out of the meals we had, only one was ok, we ate out the evening after the beige meal it was that poor. It’s a shame because everything else is ok….. Very small bedrooms but comfortable beds.

The staff here are friendly although there was the occasion Italian blip. Overall the hotel was fine, a little bit tired but an acceptable base for traveling. A couple of issues, parking we were charged 12 Euros per day to park on a fairly rough piece of ground that passed as a carpark. The main criticism would be the food, we were on a package and the food served was quite awful, one evening I had cutlet's chips and pickled onions as my choice,(only 3 choices were available) Breakfast was uninspiring we decided to ignore the hotel food and eat out. Overall a reasonable experience just about 3-star quality. Montecatini is lovely to explore however suggest you travel and explore other local towns
