Had a fabulous two night stay at The DoubleTree while working away from home. Staff very friendly and they couldn't do enough for their guests We didn't realise at the time of booking that breakfast was included, this was an added bonus, Great selection of both hot and cold food. The hotel is in a perfect location, just a short stroll to the pubs, restaurants in the centre. Will definitely return but for pleasure rather than business next time

We stayed there two nights and there were 4 of us thus two, Deluxe rooms were booked. Absolutely nothing, except the size, was anywhere near Deluxe. The seats of the bar chairs were stained badly. The fridge in the room was empty, not even a bottle of water. When I asked if they had forgotten to fill it, the receptionist, totally disinterested, answered that they didn’t do that anymore and if we wanted a bottle of water, we had to ask for it at the reception. It was free but only on request. The second day we returned from a long day out to find the room and bed not made up and the bathroom exactly as we had left it.. again at the reception, where I was told that that also was only on request. We have stayed in very many hotels this and also in past years but this was just totally at the bottom of the list even though it was one of the most expensive. €1,000 for two nights. There were no lights on the dark path around the hotel. All in all a discrace all round for any hotel, not to mind a, so called luxury hotel… terrible. Booking.com only mentions our favorable comments and that were ..Good beds and pillows and perfect location. Had I read any of the more honest reactions, I would never have chosen this hotel. Hospitality was totally lacking, just as the honesty on the Booking.com site. Sad after many years of loyal use and satisfaction.. very disappointed this year !
