This hotel is the most cost-effective hotel in my trip to England, very value! The room is large, the bed and pillows are very comfortable, the facilities are complete, the parking is free, and the breakfast is superb! In fact, it should be an old manor transformation, the garden is super large, reminding me of Downton Manor. The little brother at the front desk is super humorous and has a rich expression.
- DONG
The hotel is ideally located for self-drive and is only a ten minute drive from Shakespeare’s house. The hotel’s Gothic architecture is old and characteristic, and within a large landscaped park, the food service is also very good.

We stayed here 3 weeks ago and wanted to bring friends from Scotland to visit Stratford this last weekend, but unfortunately the Arden was fully booked. We came for dinner, as we knew how good it had been when we were guests. All I can say is fabulous! The restaurant & bar staff were all so pleasant & attentive. Alex was one of our waiters and has to be one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met - he read that our group had a sense of humour & made us all giggle. He’s a massive credit. The food was just ace, and I definitely recommend the scallops to start, and the Ribeye. We’ll definitely be back, thanks all 🙂

This hotel is surprisingly good, opposite the Shakespeare Theatre, out of the Swan Lake on the River Avon, very beautiful, the hotel has free parking, breakfast is order but very delicious, the hotel room is very winding, each room is There is a specific name. The aisle is like a maze. It is very complicated. There is no elevator. I really don't understand. In addition, check in the front desk is in the back door, through a door, walk through the restaurant to get to the front door, in addition to the design is a bit strange, the other is very good, the location is very good.

The appearance of the hotel is not good, opposite the new place of Shakespeare. After entering, people feel surprised and the front desk service is very good. This time, the first floor was opened and the balcony door was the garden. It felt great! Breakfast is also good, the restaurant in the hotel is also very good! The bathroom is very big, the downside is that the wet and dry function is not separated.

Awesome hotel with perfect details, especially like the hotel's decor, the overall Morandi color. The room is a little smaller, the breakfast is very good, the shot is good-looking, not far from the train station and attractions.

This hotel is well suited to the old phrase ‘fur coat, no knickers’. The main reception rooms are beautiful, but the actual accommodation leaves a lot to be desired. £229 felt like a huge sum of money for a random night in October, in a tatty room, with stains on the walls, chipped paint work that in places was more chip than paint, blackened grout in the bathroom, 1950s metal & single glazed prefab style windows and a door which looked as if it had been bust open at some point (nothing like making your guests feel safe). Also deciding to give the spa a swerve, on the basis that a quick look didn’t inspire much confidence, we were truly disappointed with this hotel & would not recommend it to anyone based on our experience. The stay was supposed to be a treat, but the decor is in dire need of a serious face lift. Interestingly, the person who checked us out did not ask if everything was satisfactory, or if we had enjoyed our stay. It was as if she knew it was a total rip off. For somewhere which oozes polished antique charm in its public rooms, Alveston Manor seemed somewhat hypocritical and grossly over-priced behind the scenes.

Breakfast is good, the environment is very good, family room is more spacious. There is a heated towel rail, and the washed socks are all dry overnight. Dinner is not bad, drinking afternoon tea in the courtyard is very pleasant.

The service was great! There was an error with room allocation and as the booked room was not available, we got upgraded to a suite which was wonderful as we were celebrating a special milestone birthday. The dinner at the Trevellyn Restaurant was beyond expectation as we were vegetarian and the vegetarian meal prepared by the chef was awesome. The hotel decor itself looked a little tired although it added to the authentic look of the listed building. It was a hot weekend during our stay and although there was no air conditioning, a small fan was provided which made a little difference when sleeping at night. The gardens needed some upkeep and it would have been lovely if the fountains had been working. Overall we did enjoy our stay and look forward to coming back again after it has gone through some upgrading and refurbishing.

The hotel is on a golf course, the scenery is very good, the hotel room is not big, but the European hotel room is not big. The breakfast is divided into buffet and ordering. The buffet is only fruit, yoghurt, milk bread, and hot food is ordered. The ingredients are very fresh, but the British people's food is notoriously delicious, so it is recommended to just order the original. The biggest feature of this hotel is that the quiet scenery is good, but it is inconvenient if there is no car to go out for dinner. The fish in the hotel restaurant was very good on the day, but it was still fresh in the ingredients.

We spent one night here. The Hotel is in a small village just outside Stratford. There is not much outside space other than parking. A warm welcome at Reception and felt totally safe with the COVID arrangements. The reception area was very clean as was our room (No.1 on the. ground floor). Indeed you would have thought it was a brand new room. The facilities in the room were excellent. Large TV with Movie channels. The walk-in shower was very clean. We ate in the Saddles Bar and the food was excellent. The breakfast service was great and the food was top quality. I have tried to find something to find fault with but I can't. Even the price was very reasonable.

Had a fabulous two night stay at The DoubleTree while working away from home. Staff very friendly and they couldn't do enough for their guests We didn't realise at the time of booking that breakfast was included, this was an added bonus, Great selection of both hot and cold food. The hotel is in a perfect location, just a short stroll to the pubs, restaurants in the centre. Will definitely return but for pleasure rather than business next time

We stayed there two nights and there were 4 of us thus two, Deluxe rooms were booked. Absolutely nothing, except the size, was anywhere near Deluxe. The seats of the bar chairs were stained badly. The fridge in the room was empty, not even a bottle of water. When I asked if they had forgotten to fill it, the receptionist, totally disinterested, answered that they didn’t do that anymore and if we wanted a bottle of water, we had to ask for it at the reception. It was free but only on request. The second day we returned from a long day out to find the room and bed not made up and the bathroom exactly as we had left it.. again at the reception, where I was told that that also was only on request. We have stayed in very many hotels this and also in past years but this was just totally at the bottom of the list even though it was one of the most expensive. €1,000 for two nights. There were no lights on the dark path around the hotel. All in all a discrace all round for any hotel, not to mind a, so called luxury hotel… terrible. Booking.com only mentions our favorable comments and that were ..Good beds and pillows and perfect location. Had I read any of the more honest reactions, I would never have chosen this hotel. Hospitality was totally lacking, just as the honesty on the Booking.com site. Sad after many years of loyal use and satisfaction.. very disappointed this year !

This is a well placed traditional hotel. It offers basic bedroom accommodation with ensuite. Food and drink is offered by way of an independently run ”Bistro”. We only had breakfast. The bar closed at 10pm (before we returned from the play so not available to us. Breakfast was a disappoin**ent by modern European standards and also compared with the average b&b. The breakfast options were variations on a cooked breakfast with toast and the possibility of croissants or alternative french type breakfast patisserie. Cereals were limited cornflakes or similar/ Coffee was served nicely and appeared to be (and was called ) Americano i.e. not quite strong enough for the espresso lover. There was no hot milk so coffee was essentially lukewarm and weak. Muesli or fruit were absent. The scrambled eggs were overcooked. The staff were friendly and helpful but appeared overworked. Brexit and lack of alternative staff clearly taking its toll. So many ways the breakfast experience could be improved. All this is a pity because the location and the reasonably priced parking make for an ideal spot.

The hotel is located in the city center, 15 minutes walk from the railway station with luggage, 5 to 10 minutes walk to Shaon’s former residence, and 2 minutes on a road in Shaweng New Residence. The location is very convenient. The town is very beautiful, the entire city centre is not too big, and the day is enough to turn around. Hotel facilities are old, but very clean, the rooms are medium in size, the bathrooms are extremely clean and large enough. Breakfast is a typical English breakfast, coffee and tea waiters will be handed over to you, and the overall service is very friendly.

Start your Stratford story at the heart of the historical old town, while staying bang up to date with our modern, spacious rooms, super-comfy beds and tasty restaurant. Follow in the footsteps of the Bard at Shakespeare's birthplace and Anne Hathaway's Cottage, see the drama come to life on stage, or go with the flow on the River Avon. The hotel is generally good and the staff are attentive, but we would suggest avoiding the restaurant.  The hotel doesn't warrant a 4* with areas showing wear and tear such as water-damaged wood, mouldy seal in the bathroom, broken window locks, etc.  Our room was not ready when we arrived, so we were given a drinks voucher. After being advised our room was ready, we arrived at the room to find the maid still cleaning the room. The room included basic tea and coffee facilities and toiletries.  The pool/spa is limited and has a cold pool, a steam room, a sauna, and a gym.  We had booked into the restaurant for an evening meal, but when we arrived there was a table complaining about the food. They had sent their food back to the kitchen twice, and the staff were suggesting they send it back again. They walked out of the restaurant. Based on this, we thought we would order something that was pretty safe, so we ordered a burger and a chicken. However, the meat tasted cheap and of poor quality. The restaurant is charging gastro prices, but the quality is nothing better than Wetherspoons or worse. Again, the puddings were basic, with a vegan coconut ice cream that had an odd texture to it and a sticky toffee pudding that was no better than a cheap microwave pud. In our opinion, the staff were inappropriately dressed, with one waitress having such a short skirt that every time she moved you got to see more than you wanted. The bar staff were assisting in the restaurant, and one barman was dressed in hip-style jeans, which kept falling down. Although all very attentive and polite, it seemed that the hotel as a whole had very limited staff, with everyone just mucking in.  The breakfast was not much better than our evening meal. We arrived at 9.30am to find the milk, pastries, hot water, etc. had run dry. There was a selection of hot food, but once again the meat tasted cheap. The main waitress was incredibly young and either didn't communicate or spoke so incredibly quietly that you could not hear what she said.  At check out, we were not asked how our stay had been, and we felt that everything was done to avoid such communication.

Excellent, spacious family room - bunks - with share bathroom. Perfect base for my adult daughter and I who were travelling the region together in a hire car. Beautiful Georgian mansion, with rooms and grounds to explore. I noted the pod (tiny home) and available glamping options only after arriving. Beds were comfortable, and staff were helpful (I even enjoyed the banter, ie being teased, about Australia's underperforming rugby union team). Would definitely stay here again, though may consider pod and glamping options which both look very exciting. Being a YHA the tariff was very reasonable, and the self-contained kitchen also assisted in this regard. Heaps off off street parking. Being located a few miles outside the bustle of Stratford-upon-Avon also proved advantageous.
