The location of the hotel is absolutely in the city center. The room is spacious and beautiful. It is a pleasure to sit on the balcony and watch the canal. The service is superb. The old doorman is a gentleman, and the receptionist is very polite. The bathroom is large, and the bedding in the room is superb, very comfortable. It gets dark at half past ten in the summer here, and the beautiful bells echo in the night sky. Special reminder: This hotel can check out at 4 pm.

We booked the family room and the lighting was extremely dim even I opened all the windows and during the day. Only one bottle of water for a room of 4 people. The towels aren’t that clean and they never wash the glasses for the 4 days we stayed there. The location is excellent as it was right at the centre of the city. However, we left a little item in the room after we checked out, the reception who picked up the called quickly helped us to find it. We are very grateful for that!

From the moment we stepped out of our transport we were given the best of attention. The concierge was on hand to take our bags and show us to reception where we were offered a drink whilst we booked in. First impressions were of a beautiful and well kept hotel. We had paid extra for a room with a Canal view, and it lived up to its expectations. The room was very well laid out with all the usual amenities, two comfy chairs so we didn't have to sit on the bed all of the time. Coffee making machine, AND and kettle (you don't get kettles in many hotels nowadays) which was good for us as we are tea drinkers. Room was clean, the bed soooo comfy (firm mattress) and the pillows plush. The towels were amazing, I wanted to bring them home and the shower was brilliant, loads of room, I loved the button on the wall to turn it off and on. We were advised to keep the windows closed at night as we were canal side (because of potential noise) but we would anyway in case of mosquito's which love me. The room was very quiet, we heard no noise from inside or outside of the hotel during our stay. Breakfast was good - a continental platter was put on the table as standard, but you could also order from the menu (we ordered Eggs Benedict) or you could help yourself to the a more English style breakfast. Service was quick and very efficient. We found the Concierge and Reception desk to be very helpful during our stay, directing us where necessary, advising us when needed, and even printing off our return boarding passes for us. The Concierge was on hand to open the door whenever we left or arrived back at the hotel. The cleaning service was excellent, if we were short of anything we just had to mention it to the concierge and in no time at all housekeeping would be knocking on our door with replacements. We stayed 6 nights - all in all a lovely experience, I highly recommend this hotel. It is worth booking in advance to get a better price.

Once past the terrorising cyclists in the City the hotel was quite good. Torn carpets on the entering steps and on the main steps upstairs were scruffy and not a great image. Reception service, especially Ami, was good and the rooms, tight space but comfortable with good beds and lighting. Breakfast, with cold scrambled eggs was otherwise ok. General service was good. Hotel was expensive in which to stay. No taxi available from main station or knowledge of alternative specific transport so we, OAPs had to walk which was a real effort.

OMG, they cancelled our booking six days before we were due to stay, for their reason they had overbooked the hotel. We booked our stay ten months before we were due to arrive and received a confirmation email that our booking was ‘guaranteed’. When we booked there were plenty of vacancies, so why did they cancel our booking? We booked early in advance, plus we booked direct with the hotel so we can’t complain to a booking agent or leave a bad review on a booking site. We had booked from 27 December to 2nd January to include New Year’s Eve. They gave us six days notice of cancellation, try finding a hotel in Amsterdam over New Year’s Eve six days out, nothing was available anywhere near what we were paying because we were now booking on short notice. Then I went back to read the Tripadvisor reviews for Amsterdam House Hotel and there were lots of complaints about the hotel cancelling peoples bookings. Amsterdam House Hotel have never responded to my emails when I tried to contact them for assistance. Doesn’t get any worse than this, being left with no hotel room with no assistance.

The cute exterior and interior are impressive! The 24-hour reception was friendly and overall service satisfaction was high. In addition, it is about a 3-minute walk from the station, and it is a flat road without gravel or dirt, so it was very convenient to come and go. Due to my schedule, I checked in late at night and only stayed one night, but I fully intend to visit again the next time I go to Amsterdam. :)

Be aware of the a well-designed process of this hotel that can your stay a nightmare. Me and my family came to Amsterdam for short vacation in July, not for the first time so I know what to expect there in terms of hotels standards etc. My wife and daughter came one day before me, and once arrived at the hotel and entered the room, they realized it was so hot and humid, that there was no chance they can stay there (especially in case one had high blood pressure or any kind of heart/health issue). Of course, they asked the front desk for any type of solution but there was no intention to solve this, what so ever (they were offered a fan). The only option they were left with was to book a different hotel in vicinity and move from there as soon as they can - this is how bad conditions were. With all the arguments we had, hotel had no intention to offer refund, voucher, discount or any other complimentary or symbolic token of appreciation. What became evident afterwards, is that this is a deliberate process, planned in advance - hotel sends an ”no air condition” email message just 1 or 2 days before the cancellation deadline to be formally correct and they have ”ready-made” answers. While I was trying to solve the issue next day, I've witnessed a young couple with a 6-month baby from West Virginia that had to check out a day earlier because of the same reason, and another guest concerned about the heat and trying to understand these conditions via a phone call - but the front desk agent ”reeled” him in to book, with no intention to warn about the inhumane conditions. All together, not just a terrible hotel but a case of although formally correct process, clearly deliberately misleading and situation that represents a health risk.

We enjoyed our stay here, the hotel was out of the city but had a tram stop right outside that was easy to navigate and took 15 minutes into the centre. Bed was comfy, room was clean with fresh towels often. The one thing we would fault this hotel on is that there is no aircon. I understand that like the UK, Amsterdam doesn't often get very hot. The particular week we went was 26 degrees and the room was unbearable to be in. We were waking up every morning uncomfortably hot and not getting a good nights sleep because of this. We opened all the windows we could but were left with hundreds of mosquitos all over the room. We asked to change rooms as it was our last night and unfortunately they said they didn't have anything for us. The staff were swift to exterminate all of the mosquitos and offer us complimentary soft drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful.

After the check-in, I encountered a series of problems. The front desk arranged people to help me solve the problem. The service was very good. My suitcase is broken, and the hotel is looking for someone to help me get it. Then the skinny is too slippery to open the door. The front desk is looking for repairs. I can wrap the tape on the handle to facilitate my access and the hotel steak is super delicious.

Eccentric place: one of two “hotels” located in what is essentially a building of residential apartments. The Amadi has the reception on the 4th floor and our room was on the 2nd. Stairs/lift take you past residential floors. Pros: Manager was really helpful when we needed to get to the local hospital. Reasonably good location just outside the main canal ring but within walking distance of everything, with tram stops nearby. Local area has plenty of eateries. Room quiet and bed comfortable. Cons: Over-priced for what it is - feels more 3 star than 4 star. No breakfast facilities (though plenty of places nearby) Odd-shaped room with barely any space on one side of the bed. Temperature control on aircon didn’t seem to do anything. Coffee machine didn’t work - a few drips after a lot of straining. And nothing for non-coffee drinkers. List of TV channels didn’t fit with actual channels. BBC1 and BBC2 listed but we never found them. Bathroom poorly designed - a small circular sink with a really small shelf. A slight smell of drains.

We had a magnificent stay at De ware Jacob Hotel with a family of five at the end of 2020. With the Covid restrictions it was not easy to travel around, but nonetheless we decided to spend a weekend in Amsterdam benefitting from the beauty of the city with fewer tourists at this moment in time. This Hotel was recommended to us as a cosy newly renovated boutique hotel at the heart of the Museum District, and the price was really good, so we were not disappointed. Our stay was even more memorable than expected. We were received by the very friendly owner and treated with a glass of Cava. The suites and the family rooms were very nice and spacious, we also benefitted from an upgrade, which was a nice gesture. A nice sushi dinner was delivered from a nearby restaurant and we enjoyed it in the lounge with a nice restaurant ambiance. We were pleasantly shocked to be given the variety of Georgian natural wines tasting by the host, something we never tried before, accompanied by the delicious strawberry covered in chocolate. Fantastic!! Breakfast was nicely presented, had nice selection and we were also offered a glass of Prosecco to start the day, but instead decided to swap it for extra cappuccinos and a homemade cake on the house. The city itself was delightful, being not so crowded as usual. We really enjoyed walking in the nearby park. Also went to The Red Light district which was absolutely empty, something unforgettable and special!!! It was indeed a very pleasant break in beautiful Amsterdam.

Me and my friend booked this hotel as there were good reviews, which is very important to us as we came from Norway to stay there for 6 days. It was also our first time in Amsterdam and were not familiar with the location. We were first checked into a wrong room than the one we had booked, and were told that we could move the next morning to another one. After we were moved to a bigger room, they told us we had to pay 50 euros due to the ”cleaning from the other room”, which we expect to be included in the price we already paid for our stay. Never experienced this before. Some staff don't smile, don't say hello, and looked strange at us when we walked through the reception. The next days our new room was not cleaned at all, one day they only came to make the bed, the next day they only came with new towels on the door. One day the cleaning lady also rushed in without knocking while we were in bed, which we thought was very unprofessional. We did not feel comfortable or safe at all staying here. We will not be going back here. Location is also pretty far from the centrum

NO ELEVATOR, STEEP STAIRS! The people at reception were nice. I left my iPad by accident after checking out, called to see if housekeeping found it and someone from reception brought it down to me so I wouldn’t have to go up the stairs again, which I appreciated a lot. Room was tiny - enough room to walk in & leave a suitcase, then the bed took up the majority of the room, which I personally liked. Bathroom is odd - toilet at one end, sink in middle, and shower on other end without a curtain or anything, it’s just the shower head with a drain on the floor. Wouldn’t go to this hotel again for the stairs alone, otherwise (if you don’t mind steep stairs) it is a nice place to stay and in a good location.

We are so grateful we stayed at the Clemens Hotel. The communications prior to our trip were prompt and helpful. Most impressive was the greeting we got when we arrived. Bob flew down the stairs and insisted on carrying our luggage up for us. He made us feel so at home. His friendly, helpful snd comfortable spirit made us feel at-ease, and at home. He helped us with advice and guidance for transportation and planning our days. The other staff were excellent as well. Evening treats were left in our room, such a special touch. The rooms were spotless, well decorated and so very comfortable. The breakfast area feels like a fine dinning experience. The balcony is extra special. The food was delicious. As described on the website, people do need to be able to climb stairs as there are many and they are steep. We loved being able to experience the inside of one of the classic old building of Amsterdam. The location was fantastic, centrally located, transit steps from the door. We had a mix up of a flight after our boat and bike tour, called the front desk in a bit of a panic, Bob was on. He did’t have a room left for us, but he helped us find a room at the Nadia just down the street. The day we arrived to find the Nadia, he was on his way into work early, he saw me standing outside, said hello, called me by name, and showed me the entrance to the Nadia. Bob made a big ciry feel like a small town. We would recommend the Clemens Hotel most highly.

Review Staff: Friendly, Helpful and Kind, staff were bilingual from what I could understand English and Dutch Location: Easy to get to via bus by the 397 from the Schiphol Airport to the Van Gogh Museum and walk 10-15 minutes or take the Tram 3 the rest of the way. Amenities: They offer multiple consoles to select from to put in your room if you're into that and have a mini cafe/bar in the lounge. Cleanliness: Bedding and towels were clean on arrival but there was a weird smudged substance on the wall that was not cleaned for some reason. Would I recommend: If you are into gaming it's a great location to stay and the price is not bad. There's a nice variety of consoles and games to select but with other peoples reviews and my experience I would not be able to verify how clean your room may be upon arrival.

I've read a few reviews before going there, and I do understand where some are coming from, but definitely not others... the rooms are indeed small, but they have all the space you need, specially if you're travelling alone. You can barely hear the noise outside (you can hear the planes flying by or the ambulance on the street, but it's very muffled) and the rooms have good sound insulation + heating. The issue is the other clients staying at the inn that don't have common sense and respect for anyone else and just arrive late at night screaming and talking loud for no reason... you really can't blame the hotel for that. The public transportation is amazing there, with tram and direct bus from Schipol airport nearby. I've went to a concert in Melkweg, so also very close to the arena, which was the purpose of my trip. It's pretty much center Amsterdam, so it is an old building, so the stairs are a bit small. It wasn't my case, because I had only a small bag, but the hotel staff asked the couple in front of me if they needed help carrying their bags upstairs. So the staff goes extra and beyond to try to be helpful. Would return there a next time.

But if what you look for in a hotel is only a bed to sleep in then this hotel offers a very spacious , comfortable and modern room.Since the hotel opened it's doors in 2019 is relatively a new hotel. It may not be centrally located but is well connected via public transport with the rest of Amsterdam, It's location in itself is also an attraction as is relatively a quiet residential area but still being in the docks area of Amsterdam it offers plenty of canals to discovered , less crowded than those in central Amsterdam.

Marvellous location just off the Museumplein. can walk to the van Gogh and RijkMuseum in 5-10 minutes. We got an executive room on the 4th floor - can get the lift. View from the top is good, and is very quiet considering the location. Street parallel is the top-end shopping street in Amsterdam. Room was compact, with the basin in the hall as the bathroom had a bath as well as a shower and toilet; 2 attached twin beds with eco-conscious mattress and duvet. Air conditioning worked well. had a coffee/tea machine but didn't need it. Breakfast was buffet with good choice of local farmer foods. Ample coffee from the machine. The place is fairly clean, but there are some major issues: 1. The locker is tiny 2. The room gets SUPER hot at night. I've stayed in a lot of hostels and it has never been this bad, especially when it's under 20 degrees celsius outside. The fan was on full blast but the windows didn't open. I had to leave in the middle of the night because it was so bad. 3. The staff wasn't very helpful. The guy seemed unmotivated to help me be more comfortable or find my way to a hotel once I decided to leave. Eventually b He did call me a cab but this was after I walked around Amsterdam for an hour at 2am trying to find a hotel. I would NOT stay here if I were you. The hotel wasn't even that much more expe sive in the end, and you will thank yourself for paying extra for a decent sleep.

It's not our first time at the hotel. Last time was just before lockdown in 2020. Nothing has changed. it's as good as ever. We had a room at the back of the hotel this time as opposed to the front. The room was a slightly strange shape as some are here. It was spotlessly clean, beds are extremely comfortable, the shower excellent and always nice and hot. The rooms are basic but have everything you need, you don't visit Amsterdam to stay in your room. The hotel staff are excellent, friendly, helpful and very friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. There is an excellent coffee machine in the lobby, which is free to use for guests. Breakfast, an excellent choice of hot and cold food, pastries, juices, hot drinks, well worth paying extra for. The hotel is perfectly situated in the centre. Well done again, and I'm sure we'll see you again soon.

Lovely 3 star hotel. Could easily be made a 4 star with some improvements. Great fireplace to keep toasty in reception, nice coffee and rooms clean and functional. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and the balcony was a nice touch. A small safe was provided for free which was great, but no kettle or tea and coffee or fridge available in the room. Staff were all very friendly and spoke good English. Hotel is 10-15 min walk from shops and restaurants and public transport just outside. Overall, good value for money and a very comfortable stay. We would stay again :)
