Our room was infested . Accused us of bringing them there. Telling me they will send me $100 refund only if I take down my post . Do not stay there. They didn’t care and only moved us to another room after a few days . I recommend that no one stay at this hotel. I still have marks all over my body from the bites spent a lot of money and time going to laundry service and washing our clothes many times

An old hotel but with charm and good location in a more peaceful district. I would specially emphasise the staffs friendliness. I had a room overlooking the canal, and a clean small bathroom. Small breakfast buffet in the reception area, but with a nice backyard.

We choose this hotel without reading any review, and what a great surprise. We were 2 adults and 2 teens, and we booked the house garden. Very nice rooms, with coffee/tea apparatus, and a table in the garden, we spend some time there with a bootle of wine, wonderful feeling in the middle of town. 3 mn walk from Rembrandt square. Great breakfast and very nice people at the reception.

The room had very old carpets with stains all over, dirty curtains and a dirty couch, and the heater was falling off the wall. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work. The esspresso machine looked as though it has never had a wash. The towels were old and ragged - the kind of towels I would reserve for washing my dogs with. And this was the "superior room". Dread to think what the standard room would be like.

very disappointed - reception is down a flight of stairs, not easy with a heavy suitcase. the toilet floor in this area needed a clean, the lift is old, directions to my room were ridiculous, they pointed to a staircase rather than in the direction of the room, had to return to reception to find out how to reach it, was eventually told by a previous guest not helped by the receptionist. the air extractor in the toilet did not turn off so noisy all night. the teabags provided were stale, I did have my own thankfully, the net curtain was torn, the phone didn't work, had to use one in another room to call reception. the mattress is covered in plastic so became very hot during the night. the only good things I can say are that there was sufficient hot water, and the receptionist on the second day is what makes me give it three stars, otherwise it would be a fewer.

Cant comment on the rooms in the actual hotel.. we got given "The Garden Room" as there were 4 of us. It's a separate outhouse at the back of the property. Very old and outdated. The bathroom really needs a makeover as it's dingy and grubby. Beds were comfortable but the whole "garden house" could do with a touch up to make it more enticing and nice to stay in. Wouldn't recommend based on condition of the room we stayed in. Could probably get a nicer room at a different hotel for the same price we paid..

Alright, location was really good but that's the only thing I'd give the hotel. Check in was simple, and I was given my bulky room key(s). I wanted a single room but was given two rooms that are open to each other. The room was tiny, and by tiny I mean it was around 2x4 Meters in size. There's no air conditioning, and only a tiny small fan, and a huge window that 20% of it can be opened, and that 20% was blocked by a filter. I asked for another fan, but was never brought one. Anyways, other than that, the minute I held the curtain to open it, a big skinny spider walked on my arm and freaked me out, but I ignored that even happened.. What was very odd, is that when I wanted to go out of the hotel to the city, I was forced to leave the room keys at the reception (For safety), so I was worried about my expensive photography equipment and I had to carry it with me all around Amsterdam which was frustrating.. I wouldn't stay there again, and would probably pay the price difference for a proper hotel.

2 nights in Amsterdam, Convenient place, sufficiently close to the center Room on the 2nd floor, very nice view over the canal from 2 large windows Friendly Receptionist at arrival Now the cons... Stains on pillow, holes in the bed sheets, Despite having informed several times the receptionist and complained about, no action was taken... "I may only inform the maid" was the only reply (and action) we got in 3 days from the reception Bed and mattresses quite uncomfortable Bathroom extremely small Upon departure, a new receptionist apologized for the inconvenience promising an e mail from the manager.. and a "discount on future stay" .... E mail never received... and needless to say... that we won't come back (even with the elusive discount) average breakfast I guess we could have found better value for our money

Service is hit or miss. The place is clean, but could use some work. The location is great and the price considering how expensive Amsterdam and considering its location is the only thing worth staying here for. One odd thing is they always ask you to leave the key at the front desk anytime you go out. We got caught off guard for t(e request. One said it’s for safety, one said it is to clean the room. Both sounded odd, we know they have a spare key. Maybe this is normal as this is the only hotel I’ve stayed at in Amsterdam, but this is so far the only hotel that made this request and they made me feel odd about not wanting to comply like it is common practice. Other complaint is the screen did not seem to work, quite a few mosquitoes got it. There was a screen so I thought we were safe, but no. For its location and price, still an ok place t9 stay if you want to stay in Amsterdam on a budget in the canal district.
