|13.4km from Carlo'S BakeryMinimalist breakfast. Because I had to leave for Chicago for two days in the middle of the road, I was able to leave my luggage here after I had a feeling of trying and talking with the front desk. I agreed very quickly. So I decided to live here after I returned to New York from Chicago.

|19.77km from Carlo'S BakeryOverall, the hotel experience was decent. Its location is quite convenient with good transport links, making it easy to get around. Check-in was smooth, the front desk staff were courteous enough, and the process was handled efficiently. The room was a suitable size and came with basic amenities, which generally met our daily needs. Cleanliness was generally good, with no noticeable issues, and the bedding felt clean and tidy. The air conditioning, hot water, and other facilities functioned properly, without any major malfunctions. Soundproofing was average; we could sometimes hear noise from the hallway or adjacent rooms. Breakfast was standard; while the selection wasn't extensive, it was sufficient to fill up. Overall, it was a consistent stay with no particularly outstanding pros or cons, making it suitable for travelers with moderate expectations. The availability of a shuttle service was a definite plus.

|13.07km from Carlo'S BakeryAlthough the lady checking me in was great and the staff friendly, when you live in a developed country, hot water at your hotel is non-negotiable. It took 5 minutes of the water running just to get water that was tepid or warm at best. And then the soap bottles were all empty. I choose Hampton Inn for its consistency, not because it is the best. They clearly did not meet expectations.

|5.71km from Carlo'S BakeryThe hotel itself is in a great position and beautiful. The beginning part of the stay was great and the hotel offered a very warm welcome and allowed us to leave are bags and check in two hours early. The stay took a turn when after quickly realising we were given a different room to being booked (one double instead of two). When being this up with the front desk it felt like the hotel really didn’t like it if you didn’t book direct, they didn’t even check if there was a two bed room available and left me to contact the trip who I booked the room with. Trip were fantastic and after they contacted the hotel they did apologise and offered us a bottle of red wine which was appreciated.

Location: Right on Fifth Avenue, there are huge LV suitcases and major brand stores outside.
Room size: The room is large and clean.
Gym: The facilities are quite complete. 24 hours.
Breakfast: You can order food to eat in the room, and the food tastes good.
Value for money: It may be the off-season recently, so the price is still acceptable. Except that such a large room does not have a bathtub, everything else is good.

|5.99km from Carlo'S BakeryIt was a very nice classical style hotel!
Personally, I even felt a sense of luxury like the Ritz-Carlton in Osaka.
The location is within walking distance from Grand Central St, and you can get to Times Square by subway or taxi. The area around the hotel is very calm, similar to Nihonbashi and Kyobashi in Japan, and there are no shops like DELI or $1 Pizza. I think it's a location for adults.
Room facilities such as coffee maker and hair dryer are perfect, but refrigerator and mineral water are not installed.
Regarding the location, I think that the convenience and inconvenience will change depending on the purpose of stay, so I can not say anything, but the total evaluation is very high and it is a good hotel!

|2.95km from Carlo'S BakeryTolerance, hotel recommended by the company 🏨. Because we are a design department, we are more creative. It is really great that the headquarters recommended this design hotel! ! !
Environment: If you are a fashionista and a trendy person, this hotel is perfect for you!
Most of the people staying here are young people. The whole hotel is very fashionable, with bright details and many small surprises. What impressed me the most was the infinite loop video in the elevator. It was really amazing. The top floor is a swimming pool and disco bar, where you can go and have fun at night when it’s very high! The soundproofing of the hotel is very good, don't worry
Hygiene: The aisles are very bright and the lighting fixtures are well chosen. There was a slight musty smell in the room when we first entered it, which is acceptable in most hotels.
Facilities: I have king size, but the room is not very big. But I love the interior design! There is an ottoman, long sofa and oval table, which is enough for two people to work and put on makeup. Special mention for his bed🛏! ! ! This is the one I will never forget the most since I have slept in so many hotels! ! Seems like I know what brand of mattress! It’s so comfortable! !
BTW the bathroom has shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, the brands are good. No toothbrush or toothpaste is provided, please bring your own. Foreigners are more concerned about environmental protection.
Service: Breakfast is generally not provided, but room service is available. There are also two restaurants at the door where you can eat from morning to night. The food is good. Moreover, the neighborhood is the very fashionable Chelsea mkt, which is just two steps away and has everything you need for delicious food!

|5.98km from Carlo'S BakeryWe decided to change hotels from our original in hell's kitchen to this one close to the park. We stayed for 3 nights in march 2024. We had a twin room on the 6th floor. Room 650. The entrance is quite grand and the lobby is really big. We checked in around 1600 hours. It was easy and we were aware of the additional charges, tax , deposit and resort fee. We'd read the reviews about the lifts being busy and some out of order. This was not an issue for us. Easy enough to walk the 6 flights of stairs as necessary. The check in staff were friendly and polite. We asked for a kettle for our room. This was delivered as were tea bags, sugar and milk along with paper cups. The room was ok. The beds were a good size. The view was of the street. The windows opened. The bathroom looked ok too. It had a bath tub. I wanted a bath. The shower was in the bath. On the surface, everything looked clean enough. The decor was a bit tired. There was a safe in the closet. The bedside lights had usb sockets and plug sockets. Very useful.
Once we were settled we started to notice issues. The bath plug didn't close. It was a push down plug. I didn't get to have my bath! The walls in the bathroom were dirty. When the shower water dripped on the tiles you could see black mould running down and into the bath tub. The mirror in the bathroom was peeling. We saw a bug running across the table area! We spoke with the cleaning staff and they said they would clean up the dirty tiles. We also spoke with reception. Someone was sent to our room to fix the plug in the bath tub. They didn't fix it. They removed the casing on the tub and just left it on the side. We reported this again and everything else we came across that was faulty or not acceptable. The staff were very polite and apologetic yet nothing actually got fixed. The edges of the room were really dirty.
The lounge area on the ground floor is really nice and the bar is well stocked. The loos though were not very clean and you did have to queue to get in to them. Access only with a room key.
The actual hotel is connected to the Manhattan Club Hotel. We used the bar on the 26th floor a couple of times. It was really nice.
Upon check out we reiterated the issues that we had and staff were very apologetic and returned our deposit and resort fee. Maybe that's why a resort fee is added to these hotels. You feel like you are getting something back when in fact I don't believe a resort fee is actually that fair. Are you paying for the use of a kettle? The bar? It is listed what the resort fee entitles you to. As I mentioned, I was aware of this.
Would I stay here again? Probably not, despite the great staff and fab location and cheap room rates. I understand there is a refit of the lifts going on. Not sure about cleaning and updating of the decor. Something needs to be done to improve this hotel. I think it was probably quite glamorous back in the day.

|5.02km from Carlo'S BakeryDisappointed by Poor Coordination Despite Great Location
The location is fantastic, and the room was clean and comfortable. However, I faced major frustration during my stay. I extended one night under a separate booking and informed the front desk in advance. Despite assurances, I was locked out of my room twice and had to go up and down multiple times—only to be told they hadn’t taken my credit card. On top of that, the shower gel wasn’t refilled. For a hotel of this standard, such lapses are unacceptable. The manager did offer free breakfast for two as service recovery, which I appreciated. Still, coordination needs serious improvement.

|5.01km from Carlo'S BakeryStayed for three nights, the general feeling is average.
Location: The location is very good and very convenient. It is across the street from Central Station, where you can take the subway to almost any place in New York. There also seem to be buses to and from LaGuardia and JFK airports, but haven't tried them. There are many places to eat, and there is no problem filling up the stomach, but there does not seem to be a particularly good restaurant.
Facilities: The hotel itself is very old, so the rooms are older. Although it is a room facing the street, the windows are too small and the light is always dim. The air conditioner in the room was too loud and had to be turned off while sleeping. Fortunately, I don't need air conditioning when I go. If it is summer, it is probably a big problem. Maybe it is an old relationship, the smell of the room is not very good, but fortunately, the windows can be opened a little bit for ventilation.
Service: I have only dealt with the front desk and was very friendly at check-in. Overall, I think it is quite satisfactory, there is nothing to be picky about, and there is nothing outstanding. Breakfast is average, not included in the room rate, needs a la carte, not many choices, average taste.
Compared to the price, I feel quite disappointed. However, this is the heart of New York, understand. Will not stay again.

|13.08km from Carlo'S BakeryOmgosh ... hotel was really nice! Breakfast was excellent and it lasted til 11a, which is pretty awesome for those that like to sleep late. So many options (hot, cold and dry). They offer bacon, sausage, scrambled/cold boiled eggs and breakfast potatoes. Whole fruit (apples and bananas), sliced fruit (melons and pineapples). Cold and hot cereal (oatmeal). Yogurt and granola. You can make your own waffles or pancakes (such a cool machine). Make your own toast and/or select from many pastries or muffins available. So many options! You can even place an order vs. eating from the buffet. They also allow carry-out and to-go boxes. Drink options at the buffet include: coffee, O.J. and apple juice.
PLEASE NOTE:
There's a separate fee for breakfast if not selected when booking.
Having said this, the hotel does not have microwaves in the room, just a fridge. There are microwaves located on each floor though (along w/ vending machines -both are in same location). Our room was spotless and absolutely spacious (no deviation from website)!
We arrived way beyond check-in and did call once we knew we'd arrive later than expected. Spoke with front desk staff who assured everything would be OK, only to arrive and find that our room (which was already paid in full) had been given away. The hotel was only able to provide us a King and a rollaway bed. Of course we were disappointed, but the next morning the hotel Mgr. made everything right. Having said that, the rollaway bed is THE HARDEST THING EVER. We bring our own everything (e.g. bedding, cleaning supplies, etc.) so we were able to make it work and make it comfortable. So much so, we'd chosen to not to be moved to the room we'd originally booked. It rained our entire stay which is what caused us to arrive late in the first place (that's a whole 'notha story). Anyway, the hotel had a few small trash bins about the lobby catching leaks here and there, but that didn't stop anything. I barely even noticed. Had I not been recording how beautiful the hotel was inside, I would've never noticed. Parking is $30/day, it's NYC what do you expect? 🤭 There's also parking on the street if you can get spot. Careful though, NYC parking signs can cause confusion for those not familiar with the City's play on words. All in all, this was great stay for us and I'd certainly stay again. Oh, I forgot to mention -I did! Yes, I extended our stay another night because the hotel and location was exceptional!
p.s. they also offer a seated bar area.
Overall: 10/10✨️

|21.08km from Carlo'S BakeryThe room was nice and the onsite free parking was definitely a perk, the breakfast was pretty good, staff was nice to us and accommodating, definitely helpful. The only drawback was that it was far; in Staten Island and it took pretty long (with traffic) to get to Manhattan/Brooklyn/Queens etc.. and when we stayed here the ice machine wasn’t working, but the staff were always helpful in giving us ice in a big cup. Overall we really liked the stay here. There was also a free shuttle from the hotel to the Staten Island ferry terminal that would bring us to Manhattan.

The place is grossly overrated for the almost $400 nightly with tiny standard rooms that are sooo small that you can hardly change your mind. The marriot brand that is attached to this hotel is misleading. My stay was a grand disappointment. Do not book here!!!! I WILL NOT RETURN HERE. IT IS NOT VALUE FOR MONEY...

|3.96km from Carlo'S BakeryThis hotel has poor soundproofing. The clatter of dozens of exhaust pipes and boilers filled the air outside the window, making it impossible to sleep. There's a bar on the first floor, and the noise was so loud until 2 a.m. that I had to take sleeping pills to fall asleep. Rooms 1113 and 1115 were right next to each other, and we were woken by the banging of doors. Furthermore, his room light was on all night, shining into ours. Terrible review, terrible review, terrible review.
We paid for breakfast and were told it was on the first floor. When we got there in the morning, we were turned away. We couldn't communicate, and after a half-hour of struggling, my diabetic companion suffered from hypoglycemia. I commend the foreigner for his attentiveness to tourists and for promptly providing a cup of sweet coffee and a hot bun. Very kind! I was deeply touched and deeply grateful to this foreigner again.

|7.27km from Carlo'S BakeryWe get there at 10:00am - We knew we couldnt check in but asked anyway. Lady on Thurs 9/28 told me we couldnt yet and gave us bag tags to hold our bags for us. Very nice and pleasant. We then return to the hotel at 9pm to finally check in. We had a great day seeing the city. We are then told that the room I booked was over sold and they can not provide me with a King that I purchased but a double. This was the manager - She discounted the bill and $54 and told me they would make sure we were accommodated tomorrow. The room we were put it was the size of a walk in closet with a bed with a window unit that water dropped on all night making a loud noise with every drop. It also had a broken shelf above the sink so you literally had no where to put anything. It was horrible and honestly a $54 discount was not nearly enough.
Friday at 9am we come down turn in the room keys and explain to yet a third person....she understands and says I see notes here and we have a king room for you. I asked if we could go ahead and get the room number but she said no not yet we have to wait for the people to check out. We check our bags with tags and leave them at the desk again. We then spend another wonderful day exploring the city. We return around 9pm again and another person is working and has absolutely no idea of anything that was supposed to be done for us. I asked for any other room then the one we were in first and they had a queen room available. I took it after being so tired. The lady gave me the managers email and said he would speak to her for us. I will be reaching out but now that we checked out sat morning I dont believe we will be compensated for this terrible lack of communication. We never even got to unpack our bags.
