Clean hotel. When I checked in, I upgraded the room to a higher room type because it turns out that the standard room has no windows. It is very comfortable in this room. The room is very spacious. Unfortunately, this hotel does not have an elevator. Therefore, to go up to the room on the third floor, you must use the stairs. The photos I uploaded are photos of my upgraded room.

Good location, good room, good restaurant. But what really made this an excellent rating was the staff. All the staff were polite and helpful. Special mention for Putra and Dewi on the front desk. These 2 really went out of their way to help me out. I cannot thank them enough. They are a credit to the organisation. I would like to make a couple of suggestions though. The front entrance has steep steps, please consider installing a ramp along the side to assist people with mobility issues and those carrying heavy luggage. Also the front off street parking area. Once again it can be an issue for less able bodied people to get past the parked cars. Please encourage guests to use the underground car park thus leaving the front less congested. I will definately stay here again if I visit Medan.

I stayed here 4-nights for a conference that’s also happening in this hotel. So many things have gone wrong and enough reasons for me not coming back. 1. The reception (or should I said “deception”?), misguided me. They said my room is upgraded to Premiere room, with complimentary afternoon tea, and minibar. More about this below. 2. Went to the room but nothing special, also the weird furniture placement makes the room smaller. Room has view but mostly just building roofs. Appreciate the giant shower head though. 3. Went for afternoon tea with my business colleague and the waitress said I’m not eligible for the complimentary. She said the receptionist made a mistake. Fine. 4. Got a call from reception, she said that Ieft my ID card at the reception. Which can be avoided if she did not forget to pass the ID card back after she copied it in. Went back to reception to get my ID card, and ask the reception about the afternoon tea to confirm whether I’m eligible or not. She said not and the minibar also not free unfortunately. Thank God I haven’t eat anything from the minibar 5. Breakfast at level 3 is unorganized, chaotic, and basically madness without crowd control. However I managed to get to the level 10 which is more quiet. Food quality is average. 6. I realized an item missing from the minibar, I did not consume them at all. I called in the operator and they were like “are you sure you’re staying alone, Sir?” I’m like… unbelieveable, why don’t you check with the housekeeping if they removed it or else? I just don’t want it to be billed on my room charge. I know it’s just a potato chip that I could easily replace from minimart, but imagine if they took other items and then billed it to your room. 7. The only nice experience I had in this hotel is the dinner, food surprisingly decent. Also the service is nice (maybe because we were the only customers?). Oh and concierge staffs also very helpful keeping my deliveries and helping me with my stuff when I checked out without me asking.

Staying for two nights in their most basic room. The moment i entered the room, i know this is such a good bargain and definitely best value for similar hotel at its level. Room was super clean, very well maintained, definitely 5 star level of maintenance. Its spacious and bed is super comfy (quite firm which i prefer), even bolster is provided! there is small fridge, safe deposit box, electronic water kettle with large mug and instant coffees / teas. The hotel doesn't provide daily bottled water, but instead, they provide water jug which i can always refill from dispenser right outside my room (room tips: choose any room with 07, the dispenser is right outside your door). There are lazy chair with small round table and ergonomic working chair by the desk. Aircon works very well to beat Medan heat. Overall, room is very spacious! Bathroom is also sparking clean, toilet is shining white and no sewage smell at all. its really that clean. kudos to the cleaning team. toiletries provided is basic. special mention to the wooden toothbrush and branded toothpaste. Bathtowel is huge and thick. Shower is very strong with very easy to adjust heating. i didn't opt in for breakfast, so can't review on that. Alternatively, Medan has plenty option for local breakfast. Although the hotel doesn't have fancy swimming pools or gym, but the cleanliness and quality of the room makes up. My only complain is the internet can get unstable / slow especially during the night. The receptionist refused to bring the food i order online upstair (while their cleaning staff said it was okay). One day i called and requested to get my room clean up when i grab breakfast outside, but when i returned the room is not yet cleaned, they said the room cleaning takes turn (i wasn't informed on this when i called). but overall, its really good hotel for the price. highly recommended

Hotel located at decent area, with food surrounding the area. Pros: 1. Great housekeeping and front desk team 2. Staff in this hotel is definitely the highlights 3. They provide WhatsApp number for any request 4. Newly renovated is decently furnished for the price Cons: 1. Shower pressure is extremely weak, and they can't increase it, no matter how you adjust it and even getting engineering to look into it. 2. Facilities is not renovated, i.e swimming pool area. 3. Other guest is a nightmare (part 1) they smoke at the swimming pool area, then proceed to throw cigarette butts and spit into the swimming pool. Treating it like their waste pool. Secondly guest is wearing their full clothing and jump into the swimming pool. What a joke.. 4. Other guest (part 2) inconsiderate guest who is extremely noisy, and kept moving furniture thru out the night 4am and morning 8am, not to mention, they smoke in the non smoking room and the smell gets thru my room, due to shared ventilation. 1mil rupiah fine is too little!! Some suggestions, have a exit direct to swimming pool, instead of going thru smoking room at level 2. Perhaps put non Indonesian couple on the same floor, instead of mixing them with other unruly guest. Have a guard to control people in swimming pool to ensure pool rules is enforced, knowing Indonesian guest have 0 education on following rules.

Bad, bad, a very bad experience at this hotel. I even don’t know where to start. If you’re a foreigner, stay away from this miserable pathetic hotel. I made a reservation on tiket.com and came to check-in. No one at the reception speaks English. That’s problem 1. They had to get one of the housekeepers who spoke little English. I presented my reservation from tiket.con - and the receptionist refused that reservation because it way cheaper than the daily rate. I made another booking in Traveloka while in the lobby, and they rejected it also. The receptionist said they don’t use those websites and they will not honor anything from those websites. They said the only booking they will accept is from the Oyo App. So I downloaded the Oyo app and made a booking. Problem 2. Credit card: the receptionist did not know how to use the credit card machine. So she called her boss to instruct her how to use the credit card machine. This took 30 minutes. I had to show the receptionist how to operate the the card machine and it worked. Problem 3, deposit: they asked for 100K idr deposit which I didn’t plan for. Basically they said no deposit, no room. Problem 4: dirty bed sheets, problem 5: broken toilet, problem 6: stinky unchanged pillow cases. Problem 7: sink water was dirty and muddy. The whole process took 2-3 hours. It was pain in the butt. Bad bad experience. Avoid this place. At the checkout they tried to keep my deposit because they said I left blood stains on the blanket. Luckily I had photos at check-in of the stains and I showed them that the blood was there form the beginning.

As a traveler from outside other city (i am from bali and here for Christmas) rent motorcycle as our transportation so best and cheapest, the parking area no safety. Because our rent motorcycle is moving from last night, and our helmet lost, with out that we are so struggle to moved the other place, like you know without helmet police will stop me. I am report this situation to staff parking, But there no apologies or other say sorry for this situation from the staff in charge or management, they just say ” Helm anda hilang bukan tanggung jawab kami ( your helmet lost is not our responsibility )”. We are stay 3 nights like strangers with out staff greetings or hospitality and the last night we are lost our helm and there are no solution and one more there no extra tissue ( face or toilet tissue ), coffee and tea sugar, mineral water ( amenities ) from the first day and when make up room they not changed it, we must say to reception just for this, as a hospitality industry we know room and service is the base product. I know this is new hotels, but without service guests don't want to come back again. Thank you And best regards.

When I arrived at the hotel, it looks fine and all but the moment I enter my room. It smells terrible, then I checked the bathroom to find the source, unfortunately they didn't clean it properly and because I smell pee, and it wasn't the source of smell I tried to find. I turn the sink on and there's some squirt from the pipe and it speayed right to me, not so much but it bothers for sure. There is only one power socket to charge your devices. Aircons in the corridor is colder than the room. The receptionists are not nice. The security looks like a thug. Far from town central. Luckily they have the supermarket to keep them alive.

More than 10 years ago I was a very regular visitor of the Dharma Deli Hotel. Having seen from the outside some changes we decided to check out the Grand Inna Hotel, just for the fun of it. Walking in the hotel I noted the De Boer plaquette, which I appreciated. At first glance walking to the Reception nothing changed. A later closer inspection learned that the Karaoke Bar disappeared, the rooms in the back have been demolished and the swimming pool got a new location and the relocation of the restaurant. However, what really changed was the age of the staff, much much younger and everywhere very friendly and service oriented. This very well compensating for some issues which have been reported upon by other reviewers. A few remarks: Positive: The windows in our room could be opened The WIFI was perfect The Steamboat, quality/price wise, turned out much better than expected Location. A few steps away from Merdeka walk Breakfast suggestion: With minimum efforts the Continental Breakfast spread can be much improved. Start with a freshly baked crispy baquette, put in some good cheese and cold cut meat and possibly some beef bacon. Looking at the total package, cost and quality wise, I am happily giving the Grand Inna 5 stars.

This is a special homestay I stayed in Medan, because it is fully self-service, there is no staff, at least I haven't seen any since last night, but this does not affect our peace of mind at all. The beds in the room are very clean, there are also charging sockets, and the security is also very guaranteed. You have to enter a password to enter the door.
