The buffet dinner is highly recommended, offering a wide variety of dishes. Food is categorized by region, with Indian, Italian, and Asian cuisines, among others. A notable feature is that cold items like salads, desserts, and cheeses are stored separately in a refrigerated room, ensuring their freshness. The Coco Banana Boost Mojito at the bar is definitely worth trying. The spa prices are also quite affordable; a 90-minute essential oil massage costs around 5000 Rupees, which is very good value for a hotel. After check-out, you can still relax in the hotel lounge, which provides complimentary water and biscuits, along with restrooms and showers, making the overall experience very comfortable. In summary, I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

The hotel itself is quite good, a standard five-star property with excellent hardware and good service, located right by the sea. In terms of location, it's a bit far from the main attractions, and there aren't many shops or restaurants outside the hotel, so you're pretty much confined to the hotel premises. Every room is a sea-view room, and overall, the rooms are lovely. The front faces the ocean, and the back has a garden where many little yellow birds have built nests. The hotel has several swimming pools. Swimming in the sea is also an option, though the water was a bit chilly in the mornings. The beach isn't very fine, with some rocky areas, but it's still great for photos, and the sunsets are beautiful. The hotel beach offers complimentary paddleboards and other facilities. We also booked a free snorkeling trip that lasted over an hour, where a boat took us out to the reef. The captain and crew were very attentive, keeping a close eye on my husband, who isn't a strong swimmer. It felt like they were ready to jump in and save him at any moment, haha. I had a great time with some other guests (who were white) and saw many fish, although a lot of the coral has bleached. We stayed for three days, eating two meals a day at the hotel. The main restaurant maintained good quality, with rotating menus; one day featured Mauritian cuisine, and another was a seafood buffet, where we enjoyed unlimited sea urchin. There are two other restaurants as well. We booked the beachfront restaurant one evening, and while the sunset was stunning, the Western food was truly awful. We promptly canceled our reservation at the other Japanese restaurant and went back to the main dining hall. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this hotel; all the staff are enthusiastic, and the service is very attentive.

Compare to Lux Belle Mare and Lux Grand Baie, Lux le morne is a disappointment in terms of service level. The structure of the buildings look nostalgic but it’s well maintained. The level of hygiene seems to be high. I love the beach which has the best on the island. But it is a shame they couldn’t utilise this. If you imagine the other two lux hotels I mentioned above are for Waitrose and harrods sippers then this le morne hotel is for Tesco shoppers. They made mistakes in billing and quality of drinks is mediocre. I can do better at home.

The St. Regis Hotel has excellent facilities and a beautiful design! They thoughtfully provided festive greetings and small gifts on Chinese New Year's Day! They even gave us greeting cards on New Year's Eve! They also had a lion dance performance at the hotel that evening, but unfortunately I was out too late to see it! The staff all said ”Happy New Year” to each other. [Grinning face emoji] The rooms are on the first floor, and right outside the door is green space, beach, and seaside. You can sit on a lounge chair and enjoy the beautiful waves! There's a small tub filled with water outside the room with a long-handled wooden ladle for rinsing your feet – a thoughtful design! The St. Regis Hotel has 172 rooms, so it's quite crowded and a bit cramped compared to the more spacious and comfortable villa hotels I've stayed in before, but overall it was still fantastic! A special thank you to the hotel for providing beach sandals (flip-flops). The straps didn't rub at all, which was very nice! My sandals broke, so I relied on these flip-flops for the entire trip around Maori! Be careful as the soles can be a little slippery when it rains!

The breakfast in the main restaurant is quite exquisite, and the food I ate for three days has not changed. The floating restaurant for dinner is very interesting and tastes good. It's just a little cold (it was winter when I went there). The spa is good and worth experiencing. I didn't try golf and shooting. It's a pity that there is no snorkeling activity. Sanitation: Very good, your room can be cleaned twice a day, and you will be asked at 7 o'clock in the evening if you want to tidy up the room and send you more water. Very good. Environment: This is too cozy to say. Service: This is very good, much better than the five-star hotels in the island cities in China, probably because of the enthusiasm of Africans. The RIU Turquoise was genuinely one of the best stays I’ve had. The rooms were amazing — spacious, modern, and always spotless. You could tell a lot of care goes into keeping everything at a really high standard. The beach is absolutely beautiful, with clear water and a really relaxed atmosphere, and the pool area is just as impressive — plenty of space, great vibe, and perfect for unwinding. The spa was also a highlight, such a nice place to properly switch off and relax. Food-wise, it really exceeded expectations. Having multiple restaurants gave loads of choice, and everything was consistently good. The steakhouse in particular stood out — easily one of the best meals of the trip. What really made the stay though was the staff. Everyone, from reception to the restaurant teams, was so polite, friendly, and welcoming. The level of hospitality was outstanding and made the whole experience feel effortless and enjoyable. Overall, an amazing hotel with great facilities, fantastic food, and genuinely excellent service — would 100% go back.

Aside from the price, there's nothing wrong with it. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly team and offered welcome drinks. The host then took us on a tour, explaining the various facilities, the restaurants, and the dress code. We were given complimentary rum punch in our room, and coffee and tea were provided free of charge. Because our flight wasn't until 11 PM, and it was off-season, we asked the front desk, and they gave us a free late checkout until 6 PM. The service was impeccable. If you were wondering around the hotel, a staff member would come and ask if you needed any assistance. The only downside was that it was winter, and the wind was strong, so many sea activities were canceled. However, this didn't affect the beautiful scenery at all. In the morning, we were treated to a stunning sunrise.

Amazing hotel, the best of all that we stayed in Mauritius, spacious room beautiful and clean, comfortable bed, huge bathroom. The hotel itself is located in the best location, you can also use the infrastructure of the neighboring hotel of their chain. The entrance to the water is the best on Le Morne, a very beautiful place. There are many water activities on the beach, we really enjoyed the excursion on a boat with a glass bottom to the turtle. For breakfast there is a lot of fruit, fresh juices, waiters and overall service are amazing. We had dinner at the Zest restaurant, the cuisine is impeccable, the staff is incredibly pleasant and professional. The only minus is that we waited an hour for an employee to come to us for check-in, but after that everything was impeccable.

I planned to pack some food when I had dinner the day before. Because I was bumping on the boat for a long time, I was afraid of eating too much and vomiting. I wanted to pack some bread. As a result, the bread for dinner was very hard. My wife and I discussed if there was a sliced bread, or I would not pack it. Buy some food on the way to the pier. After dinner, my wife and I strolled around the hotel for a while and then looked at the beautiful night view of the hotel. After the stroll, someone knocked on the door as soon as I entered the room. After opening the door, he found that it was the waiter, he handed me a box and said that sir this is your breakfast for tomorrow, it was a little surprised, too thoughtful. Then open the box to see what it is, and find that it is different flavors of sliced bread, a few fruits and two small bottles of juice. An excellent stay, marred by a disappointing incident. Beautiful setting, attentive staff, impeccable service. We were so charmed that we wanted to extend our stay. That's where things got complicated: due to a date error, the manager asked us to immediately cancel the reservation on this platform. The cancellation was confirmed to us on-site by the platform and the hotel staff, only to be refused the next day, with no refund from the hotel. A regrettable incident, all the more surprising from an establishment of this quality. We hope for a swift resolution and will update this review accordingly.

We really liked the hotel: comfortable, cozy, quiet at night, first line, private clean beach with a beautiful view, which was cleaned every morning especially for the comfort of guests. The only thing to consider is that you definitely need to rent a car here, because taxis are expensive and take a long time to wait. But we rented a car, so everything was great. I played golf on the local course, and my wife and I also went to the spa, where Kevina and Sweta gave us a very good massage. There are a lot of small lizards on the territory, but this is a typical story for Mauritius, there are a number of insects that the staff actively fights, and at breakfast you can be bothered by rather impudent sparrows. But the hotel was so good that we did not pay attention to these little things. In general, the hotel is top. I recommend it. Despite the four stars in the hotel rating, it is much higher than many five-star Turkish hotels.

Rats in restaurant On arrival the hotel is really beautiful - a small oasis tucked away with gorgeous colonial style. The reception staff were really lovely and made us feel welcome. The room was really nice - but there were a few things we noticed (which we let slide at the start) - massive dirty lipstick mark on one of our water glasses, filthy lampshades above the bathroom sinks, bed linen that didn’t feel particularly fresh and the robes as well had a slight greyish colour rather than bright white which they were meant to be. These were all minor things at the start which we didn’t even mention to each other but did notice. We then had our first night at the cocktail bar where our drink was served by the lovely barman (very polite and smily) - as we were drinking we saw a huge rat run across the terrace - we decided it was an island and maybe this is normal (although we really weren’t happy about it). We then were dining within the restaurant and again a huge rat was running towards the table. For us, this is not ok. We asked to move tables as we saw a rat and the waiters barely acknowledged it - didn’t offer any apology and then proceeded to avoid our table for the rest of the night. We informed the manager the next day who assured us he was aware and the rat had been caught, and to “give it a chance”. We weren’t offered so much as a complimentary drink. After dining in the restaurant again the second night and again seeing a rat - for us it was time to check out. Not only is it unpleasant seeing rodents running around while eating but I would say it’s a hygiene issue and makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen and the safety of the food. The only concession we were offered was to not pay for the remaining nights that we would not be staying for. Really disappointing. On hindsight some things we would add about the whole experience: - Not a 5 star in terms of food, service or cleanliness - Staff really hit and miss - some very friendly some really rude and unhelpful - Rooms didn’t feel clean - Food was average - nothing felt fresh including breakfast - Quite stingey with water - water not replaced within our room (had to ask for it) We are now staying at a different hotel and haven’t seen one rat, so don’t think this is “just an island thing” as the manager stated. The service and food are also worlds apart which has really solidified that our review of 20 degres sud as completely justified - not a 5 star experience whatsoever.

I recently stayed at the Solana Beach Resort during my trip to Mauritius and wanted to share a balanced look at the highlights and a couple of unexpected drawbacks of my stay. The Highlights: Comfort & Tranquility The Room: We stayed in the Junior Suite Sea View, and it did not disappoint. The room was incredibly spacious, clean, and came equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. Wake up to the sea view was a major plus. Location: Situated near Belle Mare on the eastern coast of Mauritius, the resort is in a very calm, quiet, and peaceful area. If you are looking to disconnect and relax, this location is ideal. Activities & Amenities: The resort has its own spa and offers fantastic sea excursions right from the property. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary water activities, including the glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, and paddle boating. The Food & Restaurants: The dining options were a definite highlight of our stay. The main restaurant, Cinnamon, serves an overall good buffet for both breakfast and dinner, featuring a great variety of multiple cuisines including Mauritian, Indian, and Western dishes. Additionally, the resort features another on-property restaurant focused on fine dining that serves excellent Italian cuisine. The Drawbacks: Isolation & Nickle-and-Diming Quiet Nights: Because the resort is far from the main city centers, there is absolutely no local market or nightlife/entertainment nearby. Once the sun goes down, the property becomes very silent. This is perfect for couples or relaxation, but worth noting if you prefer a bit of evening energy. The Water Policy (A Major Disappointment): This was the biggest letdown of our stay. The resort provides 2 complimentary bottles of water daily, but charges for any extra bottles you need in the room. Worse yet, water is chargeable during dinner. Having traveled to almost 40+ countries, this is the very first time I have ever encountered a resort charging for standard table water during a dinner service. For a resort of this caliber, charging for basic drinking water feels incredibly cheap and dampens the overall guest experience.

This is an excellent, inexpensive resort to stay on the East Coast of Mauritius. I loved hotel's activities and staff services. Whilst I wouldn't stay there on a honeymoon because it lacks the romantic atmosphere that some of the 5 starts hotels have ( luxurious flowers, etc) I will always consider returning for a holiday break. The waves on the East Coast are stronger comparing to the West coast, making swimming little bit more challenging, however the water is very clean. Highly recommended.

The beach of Mao Ball really doesn't want to hold too high expectations. This is the third home in Mao Ball. The service and the first two are really incomparable, because the former one lived in a bubble and served too much. There is no comparison here, you can only say that the price is OK, after all, this price is cheaper in the hair ball. To praise the bath water here, because the bubble is open air, so the bath water is cold at night, no matter where the bath water is good in the morning and evening, it is close to the SUPER U flacq shop. Go to the hair ball and try to avoid Sunday. We had 2 weeks of this trip, which was wasted. The public holiday supermarket of Zhoumao Maoshu was closed, the hotel was closed, and the project did not have to play.

Aside from the price, there's nothing wrong with it. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly team and offered welcome drinks. The host then took us on a tour, explaining the various facilities, the restaurants, and the dress code. We were given complimentary rum punch in our room, and coffee and tea were provided free of charge. Because our flight wasn't until 11 PM, and it was off-season, we asked the front desk, and they gave us a free late checkout until 6 PM. The service was impeccable. If you were wondering around the hotel, a staff member would come and ask if you needed any assistance. The only downside was that it was winter, and the wind was strong, so many sea activities were canceled. However, this didn't affect the beautiful scenery at all. In the morning, we were treated to a stunning sunrise.

A good hotel with a beautiful and well-designed area. A spacious beach where turtles swim. Breakfast is quite uniform, but there is everything.  Convenient entrance to water, beach clean. You can take a cayak for rent free. Defects: lunch and dinner are expensive if not all on. The hotel is quite old.  In general, we liked: A picturesque beach, a benign staff, lucky to see turtles in the ocean.

The RIU Turquoise was genuinely one of the best stays I’ve had. The rooms were amazing — spacious, modern, and always spotless. You could tell a lot of care goes into keeping everything at a really high standard. The beach is absolutely beautiful, with clear water and a really relaxed atmosphere, and the pool area is just as impressive — plenty of space, great vibe, and perfect for unwinding. The spa was also a highlight, such a nice place to properly switch off and relax. Food-wise, it really exceeded expectations. Having multiple restaurants gave loads of choice, and everything was consistently good. The steakhouse in particular stood out — easily one of the best meals of the trip. What really made the stay though was the staff. Everyone, from reception to the restaurant teams, was so polite, friendly, and welcoming. The level of hospitality was outstanding and made the whole experience feel effortless and enjoyable. Overall, an amazing hotel with great facilities, fantastic food, and genuinely excellent service — would 100% go back.

That's where things got complicated: due to a date error, the manager asked us to immediately cancel the reservation on this platform. The cancellation was confirmed to us on-site by the platform and the hotel staff, only to be refused the next day, with no refund from the hotel. A regrettable incident, all the more surprising from an establishment of this quality. We hope for a swift resolution and will update this review accordingly.

I had a great stay at Royal Green Resort. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is good if you have a car — about 57 minutes from the airport by car.
