The location of this resort is impeccable. Breathtaking view of the jungle and the hills behind. You can see deer grazing lazily from the balcony. It's also convenient for mudumalai tiger reserve safari and local safaris. The food was amazing, the chef here is eager to hear about your preferences and cater to that as much as possible being limited by supplies in a remote location. The spread in the buffet is also good. The staff here is really helpful and takes great care of the guests. The front office helped us arrange vehicles for early morning safari. Be aware that the traffic movement is restricted between 9 pm and 6 am before reaching masinagudi by the forest department, so you have to reach here before 9 and can leave after 6 am only.SOLD OUT

Fabulous setting up on a hill about a 20 min walk down to the town(definitely get a rickshaw back). Didn’t realise we could order eggs for breakfast until our second morning (not offered them on the first morning). Cake at breakfast was yummy.
Bathroom hadn’t been cleaned on arrival and there were splatters marks on the wall above the tea/coffee area. We also returned to our room late afternoon to find maintenance working on our balcony - did feel this could have been done after checkout!

We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was very good. The high taxes in Tamil Nadu added to the price (almost 25%) so bear this in mind . Cocktails weee excellent.
We did the morning ’hike’ which was well worth getting up for.
We were brought a hot water bottle on our second night which was a lovely surprise.
Tea & biscuits served between 5 & 5.30pm which was a nice touch although more of the breakfast cake would have been good.
Would recommend staying here as rooms, location & restaurant are excellent.From$48

All animals come inside the property, herds of deer, sambar deer, black monkeys etc. Complimentary gypsy safari ride inside the property for one hour, complimentary horseride, big swimming pool, ample parking, good food specially mutton curry and sambar. The property is located in a very nice place close to all tourist attaractions. The palace turned into a hotel is a must visit. The rooms take you back the kings era, giving you the nostalgic feel. The rooms are well furnished with antique furniture, paintungs and carpets. The hotel is owned by the wadayar group. The thing which i noticed that stands out is that they have not appointed professionally trained staff. But the staff all are very courteous and helpful.
