Pros Very peaceful guest house, high above the hustle and bustle of busy Kandy. We enjoyed our 1 night stay here. They provided us with a delicious breakfast. All of the staff were very welcoming, helpful and kind. The bed was big and comfortable, the AC worked well and the water was nice and hot. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the balcony, reading our books in the morning, watching the sun rise. Amazing views. It was perfect for what we needed and excellent value for money. Cons Some ants in the room. But most places in Sri Lanka so far, we’ve had a similar experiences. Overall, would recommend to family and friends and would stay again. Thank you

The environment and sanitation are very good, the service is very good, very in place, that is, there is a big bed and a small bed in the room. The Cottage building has been built with eco-bricks. These eco-bricks were also made up of the soil unearthed from the property site itself. The floor was completed with timber from a 200 years old Arjun tree (Terminalia arjuna) dead and fallen into a river in Anuradhapura District. Used train sleepers were used to complete part of the roof and steps in front of the building.Large windows enable the use of natural sunlight inside the cottage further reducing the carbon footprint.

The location is lovely. Especially the mountain view. It didn't feel like we are in the middle of the busy city of Kandy. Rooms were very comfortable. The staff were really friendly. They will organize tours for reasonable prices as well. All in all I highly recommend this place.

With a six-year-old child, the big bed is enough to sleep, very quiet, the bath water is a little small but enough. The scenery in the yard is very good, the opposite is the mountain, after the night, the stars are a little bit, and the family lights up. The decoration at home is elegant and I like it very much. There are two very handsome black dogs. The landlord is very graceful, the service is very intimate, breakfast and dinner are here to eat, very satisfied, the landlord will sit next to help you introduce the local food, will not help you to replace the taste. A wonderful home stay for family’s. Walking distance to city center and lake kandy also you can feed ducks and fish popcorn they gobble it up in seconds.Breakfast was wonderful my children loved it.The balcony was magical at sunset best stay in Sri Lanka I have had in a long time.

8.4 Day In the morning, wake up in the wonderful howl of birds, a viewing room in a mountain village near Kandy, Sri Lanka, which is clean, tidy and tastefully decorated. The owner of this house is hospitable, kind, and hardworking, capable, and tasteful. Seeing the family photos of her family, she has three children, her eldest son, who has graduated from college in Australia, the second child is a daughter, 21 years old, working as a clerk in Kangdi, and the third is a son. I'm in school. At 5:45 in the morning, through the window, I heard the rain in the mountains. The rain stopped soon, and then there was a crisp bird song, a woodpecker sound, some unknown squeak, occasional dog barking, etc. I couldn't wait to get dressed and run to the balcony. On the balcony, look out over the white Kondi city Looking back is close to the natural mountains and green trees, feel the fresh air, the stars in the distance, through the lights of the leaves.

We are a French family and had 2 rooms during 2 nights… we recommend you to stay at the villa49. Everything was fine. Location is very good ( 15/20 minutes walk from the city center), rooms are big, air conditioning works well and not noisy, food is excellent a little bit like a 5 star restaurant. Relaxing atmosphere with nice music.. Hoppers ( kind of « egg crepes made with rice water and cocunut milk) during the breakfirst were so delicious. We want to come back soon 😉

Very nice place, with very friendly staff. I was at Rivora Residence with my friend. We stayed for 4 nights, and then + 2 nights (we extended our stay because we really loved the place). The place has good wifi. When we will be back in Kandy, we will definitely be back here at Rivora Residence!

One of the rare hotels not to increase its prices during the Kandy Perahera. The rooms are comfortable, simple and clean. Fan. It is generally cooler in Kandy than in the rest of the country. A few years ago, a young team managed this place from the reception to the restaurant (you could have your meals there). Today there is only one man, Darshana, contact: 072 348 8416 who takes care of everything: cleaning, laundry, reception, preparation of breakfasts. The Sri Lankan owner who lives in Switzerland seems unaware that the person to whom he has entrusted the management of the hotel (who is not Darshana) is an indolent person, based in Kandy, who does not respond or responds too late to reservation requests to the point where cancellations accumulate. We have witnessed it. Too bad, it's a nice place, at an attractive price.
