|0.2km from city centerWe booked two rooms for four nights over Christmas (originally we had six people but one couldn't come due to a medical condition). One was 'pet friendly' and slept 3 , the other one a no-pet family room that slept 5. Both were pristine, comfy beds, lots of space and storage. Shower a little poky but that's pretty standard in a motel. The sliding door into the shower was dodgy in my room but in the other room it was OK - that was the only issue inside the rooms that I noticed. Total cost worked out to $155 per person between the six or just under $39 a night each which is super cheap for two rooms, especially in peak season. Other reviews state that the traffic as noisy, but not with the window closed and I'm from the country so I would notice! There IS air con. The pool was no Spanish caravan park pool (ie: big!) but it was bigger than normal (about 12 or 14m?) and rectangular (WHY do people build kidney-shaped pools??) so one could do laps, although I did have to do 120 to get my normal swim. Salt water. Spa was useless - cold and couldn't even feel the jets. Gate a bit hard to get into - have to reef the child-proof handle up pretty hard. The location is great - not only was it close to our relatives but also half and hour to Hastings, an hour to Portsea, and on boxing day we drove for just over an hour to another relative in a stunning part of south Gippsland. (I think I'll skip the Peninsula drive on a public holiday next time though ...) Good shopping isn't far away either with Dandenong (the markets there are great), Ikea Springvale, Chadstone and Moorabin DFO all within half an hour, Frankston five minutes and so is the Royal Botanic Gardens of Vic (definitely on my list for next time). My main complaints were about the rules outside: 1. There is no pet exercise area close to the motel rooms. The grassed spaces including the huge waste-of-space of a verge are supposedly NOT for exercising your pet, although the BBQ area is large and totally enclosed which would be ideal. There would even be room to fence off one half of it (pretty much a wasted space as it is with no seats or anything) so pets are away from the BBQ. If I was bringing my dog again I would definitely not stay here without a change to those rules. There is access to an off-leash park out the back of the entire park but it is a long way from the motel which is at the front, and way too far for a midnight or early-morning pajama-clad deposit. It is also too far for anyone (or pet!) with a certain type of disability - pretty ableist. I doubt my in-law's little dog could walk that far on a good day and my father in law certainly couldn't. 2. signs outside the rooms ask that people smoke at least 4m from the rooms, but the ashtrays are within 1m and of course that's where people congregate. Our neighbours smoked in the early morning and late at night and their (normal) voices carried right into the room (as did the smoke when hubby opened the door to ask them to keep q

|2.12km from city centerThe staff are extremely friendly, helpful and accommodate they do anything do make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The apartment is clean and smelled good and they even offer laundry detergent. There's an intercom that gives access to friends and family or uber eats. The location is super. 7mins walking distance to the shops. The downside is that the fire brigade was just across the road and they are all the time switching on that annoying siren so was quite noisy 😑 and the bedroom didn't have an air-conditioned or fan and it got quite warm sometimes. The only place with air-conditioning was the living room but it took a while for the bedroom to could down. But apart from I highly recommend this place :)

|1.01km from city centerThe staff were very accommodating and service was great considering we had arrived in Melbourne just before 12am with a last minute booking due to our other booking cancelling on us. The room was great. Quite big. There was many utensils and everything we needed in the room.
The only downside I would say is the glass doors for the main room. We were travelling with our 10 year old son and couldn't get changed in privacy due to there being no blinds on them. And also it was quite loud on the Friday or Saturday night due to it being on Flinders and Spencer Street, and the balcony didn't get much use due to the same reason.

Because it's cheap, you can't expect too much of it.
Although breakfast is included, its breakfast is difficult to swallow. You should prepare your own breakfast.
Don't expect cheap hotels to be good, then this backpacker hotel is not bad.
Because there are so few cheap hotels here. Overall I give 50 points.

The grounds and park were well maintained and within walking distance of supermarket, shops, chemist and restaurants. The receptionist was helpful in providing extra linen and had excellent knowledge of the area . We did have to relocate from one cabin to another due to a power problem but that was unavoidable. We were there when all precautions were being taken due to covid 19. Our vehicle broke down on Saturday evening late so we had to wait to locate a mechanic for Monday morning. I would stay again.

Since there has been a change of hands from the previous owners there has been quite a considerable decline in the level of service provided. For breakfast there were no egg cups for hard boiled eggs, my mum who is in her 60s commented that they brought out hot breakfast options after we had pretty much already finished our breakfast. Short on linen in rooms, no face washers provided. The hair dryer in our room didn't work but luckily there was a spare one. There was a missing towel rack on the back of the bathroom door. There is free parking which is a bonus. So all included, twin room for the night, breakfast and complimentary parking

Booked the room via booking.com ... but first rang the lodge to see if they could match the rate so they'd get all the income. However, they wouldn't ... go figure. Stayed five nights at the last minute (husband suddenly in hospital). No weddings on so parking was easy. Gardens are quite lovely and at night they're very pretty with fairy lights. I was really comfortable, felt safe, had plenty of space to move and put my gear, car park right outside, quiet spot (amazingly) and good snoozy bed. Loved being able to watch TV from a sofa (rather than a bed) and I used the desk to draw or use my laptop. Also had a spacious bench to make breakfast or snacks. Getting in and out of the motel onto the main road was easy (school hols so roads are much less crowded). It's a solid half hour walk to the nearest train station and a pleasant (although somewhat noisy) stroll. There's also a bus along Middleborough Rd going to Box Hill station which would be worth looking at . However I worked out where to park close by Laburnum station without paying, so was relatively easy to get into the city and back without needing to take out a parking mortgage. Reception staff pleasant. Didn't use breakfast facilities, air conditioning or wifi, not that I was provided with a password. Every time I needed access, it was after reception closed so gave up. Definitely stay here again when we need accommodation in the east. Was very happy. Keep your expectations realistic and you'll be fine.

The price was affordable and the free airport transfers were fantastic. The accommodation has portacots available for no extra charge when booked direct with the company. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, I was pretty impressed with the standard of cleanliness throughout the accommodation including common areas - bbq and games rooms. I would happily stay here again. There was an IGA ( supermarket) within easy walking distance of the accommodation, cafes and takeaway food options. The kitchen was well equipped.

|0.73km from city centerWe stayed here for 3 weeks while building works were being done on our home. We have a 5 year old and 8 year old so stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment on the top floor (1 x King bed, 1 x Queen and 2 x Queen singles). The bedrooms were all refreshingly large, with plenty of wardrobe space in each. There's a small bedside table with drawers in each room too, but no chests of drawers. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Assuming most people will be largely living out of a suitcase while staying here, that shouldn't be an issue (ours was an unusually long stay). Although the decor was a bit dated and a little worn here and there, the apartment was clean and the weekly cleaning, very thorough indeed. All basic appliances were provided and worked well. The 42 inch TV was an older one (actually had a set top box for free-to-air TV!), but it worked well and the reception was fine. We brought along our own Chromecast which took care of Netflix etc, so happy days. Wi-Fi was a bit patchy on the third floor where we were (it's shared with the second floor), so we worked around that by plugging in a laptop by Ethernet cable and used the Windows 10 mobile hotspot feature. Sorted. There is a single large reverse cycle air-con heater/cooler in the lounge which easily heated the whole apartment quickly and obviously, only when all room doors were open (presumably that's why the extra blankets are there, for overnight when internal doors are closed). Each room had a pedestal fan too, as we assume the opposite situation in summer. Location is excellent with the 59 tram stop right outside the building (which terminates at the Airport West shopping mall at one end, and goes into the CBD via Essendon and Moonee Ponds), an IGA Supermarket 5 mins' walk away, and a KFC and rare 24 hour McDonalds, across the road. And a very nice, albeit overpriced and overrated Italian resturant 400 Gradi a block over if you want something fancier, and don't feel like getting a tram or Uber to Niddrie village for a much better range of and cheaper dining options. Special mention must be made of Viola, the receptionist/concierge/manager. She was excellent. We found her friendly, helpful and responsive at all times (even after hours), and really made a positive difference to a 3 week stay with two young kids, which could have been a nightmare otherwise.

|1.94km from city centerUpside : - The apartment is spacious with great wardrobe space - The kicthen utensil is fully equiped - The check in is easy on another side of road - The check out is easy by just returning the key to the check in counter - TV, dishwasher, toaster, oven. microwave, washing machine with dryer, stove, fridge, hair dryer, bath shower all functioning - The security looks good by using access card for entrance and lift - Downstair for ALDI supermarket - 13 mins walk for free tram station next to police station melbounre by tram no 85 to collins street - 8 mins walk at behind direction to Erral street (opposite the Audi) for 7-11, Chemist Warehouse, Library, Restaurants etc. - Plenty of offsite parking which required meter - The curtain in the room is acceptable with not fully cover but at least thick and probably around 98% covered without too bright in morning. - Good sleeping quality for King Size Bed in both rooms. - Soup for bath, dishwasher and washing machine provided - Kitchen roll and tissue provided - Bath towel is good - Plenty of offsite parking Downside : - No air conditioner in 2nd bedroom - Toilet hand shower is broken - Only 216 bus - Free tram should walk 13 -15 mins - Only Aldi downstairs - Front desk check in in next building Conclusion : The night is cozy and quite, but it is quite noisy for the neighbor construction after 9am at this moment, most probably need another 2-3 months to complete. Nothing much in the area.

|0.5km from city centerWhat a great place. Myself, Daughter and Grand daughter had a quick trip to Melbourne to visit my Mum, stayed here for 3 days and loved it. The view was fantastic, nice and close to restaurants and there's IGA around the corner if you need it. Getting the keys was no trouble at all, even though we arrived outside normal hours. Fab (the Manager) was really nice and helpful, showed us the apartment, parking etc... overall, just made us feel nice and welcome. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone and I will stay there again for sure. The beds are comfortable, rooms very clean and everything you would need if you decided to do your own cooking while staying there. A place I would certainly stay at again. Very happy with this choice.

|0.34km from city centerHave stayed here twice for extended work trips with very different feedback each time. 1st stay - Executive Studio, 1 Bedroom - Lovely modern clean room, free undercover parking and balcony. Everything you need for a business trip. Washing machine and dryer, secure access up the lift no problems. I liked so much I requested to stay here appose to Quest for my next trip. 2nd stay - Executive Apartment, 2 Bedroom (free upgrade from 1 bedroom booking) - OLD apartment beside the door above the garage door. All night you were woken by the garage door going up and down. The apartment door was beside the entry door which would wake you every time someone would enter or exit. Car parking was in the complex but not secure with a roller door like last time. Carpet needed a good wash, bottom floor no balcony. Bathroom needed a facelift. Not sure if I would stay here again unless I was guaranteed a room away from the garage door and entry door. The studio I originally stayed in was worth so much better than the 2 bedroom (even though the 2br was more expensive). Such a let down after the excellent stay I had initially.

The same price can live in a three- or four-star hotel. This room type can live in four people.
