This hotel is incredibly convenient. It's surrounded by numerous shopping districts, making it super easy to get around. The facilities feel very new and modern. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I'm visiting the area. Plus, its proximity to the pier makes taking boat trips incredibly convenient.

Great location – all the famous seafood restaurants and popular juice shops are within a 10-minute walk. The room was clean and tidy. The only downside was that the road outside could be a bit noisy at times, but overall it was a great stay. Friendly staff — the staff were very friendly and helpful. Staff also very willing to help me and my friend taking lots of photos for memories when our lastday haha

Good location, hotel is a bit old but also looks recently renovated, so it's a mix. It's still clean, just that you can notice the old part. Service was ok, but I had issue with the wifi in front of my room (15), and despite restarting the router and modem, the connection was still without the internet, and that was very frustrating because even my phone was only able to get 4G signal. I managed to connect to a wifi for rooms 1-5, but it's a bit further, so the signal wasn't very strong. Couldn't do much work or gaming unfortunately. Hopefully this will be fixed. Also there's no elevator, so book with that in mind.

We arrived at the hotel around 12 PM, initially planning to just leave our luggage. To our pleasant surprise, the front desk staff had an available room and let us check in immediately, which was very thoughtful and accommodating. We understand that accommodations in smaller towns often have limited facilities, so we went in with realistic expectations. The room was reasonably clean, and we had brought our own disposable bed sheets and toiletries just in case. The location was also quite good, making it easy to get around.

Luna B&B in Semporna is really good. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the pier. The main thing is that it is much quieter than the town, clean and comfortable. It is suitable for taking a hot bath and having a good sleep on the soft bed after a day of island hopping. The room here is big, with a lawn outside the window. There are beautiful Portuguese houses. You can also wash clothes. The room smells good. Thanks to the front desk lady, who is gentle and beautiful. And the boss is very cool and nice. You can speak Chinese here. Recommended to friends who come here to travel👍

At first glance, I feel that the homestay is not very good, but after staying, it feels great, very warm, and very warm. It is a caring homestay with a clean and quiet environment. There is no shortage of restaurants around. The yard is breezy during the day and the flowers are scented at night. Behind the center of the sea, I feel that the tropical rain forest is the right choice. The handsome and handsome manager speaks Cantonese. The hotel also has two fixed-point vehicles to pick up and drop off to the town center. Breakfast is different for three days. The free afternoon tea is simple, but delicious. The room Not big and clean. The first time I went to Semporna, I only booked a room. It turns out that the tropical rain forest can also be booked for a day trip to island hopping. Compared with the Internet, the site will be similar to the online booking. So I booked three islands for a day. I thought it was with other people. After joining the group, we found that it was a group of 4 of us, and three of us served us. Among them, diving guides and professional underwater photography of the thin brother Big Fei from the fat world, regardless of snorkeling and snorkeling, all followed to help take pictures, and the little black brother pulled it. The lifebuoy is always taken to watch the underwater world, and the service is extremely considerate. The next day, I reported the deep diving experience to the child. Fortunately, I haven't booked an island hopping tour online before. When booking on the spot, Brother Dafei will patiently explain to us how to play. Summarizing the tropical rain forest, I booked a homestay for two more days.

The view was spectacular. The boat transfer was smooth and on time. The breakfast and dinner was excellent. Ate unlimited fresh deliciously cooked crab for dinner. Only the lunch is just so so for me. Also provide transparent kayak things, snorkeling set for free. But we can only go into the sea when the water level is a bit higher for safety reason (around 3-6pm) The water is really crystal clear. 10000% Recommended!

It is better to live in the town than in the suburbs. The B&B in the suburbs is far away and you need to take a taxi. There are flying ants at night, and the calls of many animals in nature will be very noisy when sleeping at night. It is very quiet here in the town, not far from KFC, the streets outside are very clean, and even the public toilets inside are clean. There are more foreigners from Europe and America living here, mainly because it is not expensive! The front desk can't speak Chinese, but they can communicate in simple English. The disadvantage is that the room is small and has no window. It clearly says that there is a window on the room I booked, but they said that the platform wrote it wrong, so they could only give me this one. It doesn't matter, the stay is okay later. The first floor of the second floor is where you eat breakfast, which is also very clean. Two people clean it every day! If next time, I will choose here again!

To be honest, since it was my first time traveling abroad, I was worried about not being well-prepared. I met William through reviews on Ctrip and booked the hotel there. He arranged everything for me during my three-day stay and even paid for my expenses out of his own pocket. I didn't join a tour group; I prefer independent travel. My wife felt a little unwell after eating seafood, and he kindly provided her with medicine. The hotel service was excellent, and we could even cook our own meals. The hotel was clean and tidy, the rooms were cozy and spacious, and the location was superb. William was also very friendly, and the room price was very reasonable—great value for money! I had a comfortable and pleasant stay, and the hotel was very welcoming. The room was clean, tidy, and odor-free. The air conditioning worked well, and the internet was fast. There was a charging pad similar to the ones you'd find in China, so you could use it if you forgot to bring an adapter. There was also a luggage rack and bedside table. We booked a twin room, which was a bit small, but the bathroom was quite spacious. There was also a large outdoor seating area, complete with cats. It was very pleasant to sit outside with a fan, enjoy a cup of tea, and work. There was also a large shared kitchen, dining area, and laundry area, making it convenient for families to shop and cook. The seafood market and pier are also within walking distance. You can book island hopping tours right at the B&B front desk, which is great for those who don't want to plan their trips. The tour guides all speak Chinese, so there's no language barrier. They also provide pick-up and drop-off services directly from the B&B. The famous Pearl Hotel seems to be just a short walk away. Supermarkets and restaurants are also nearby, making it very convenient.

The hotel's primary focus on Chinese guests is evident in its services and amenities, which are predominantly in Chinese. This should be clearly stated in the hotel description on the booking websites. The villa itself is well-maintained, spacious, and equipped with everything you need. The beds and linens are of good quality, the toiletries are nice, and the bathroom is modern and clean. The air conditioner is quiet, but the external unit is quite noisy. The exterior and garden are lovely and clean. The breakfast buffet was subpar, with cold food and coffee that required guests to microwave (completely in Chinese) it themselves, which was also a major inconvenience. Yet, the variety and quality of food was good and tasty. The staff seemed indifferent to the lack of coffee and food, and the lady who came to ”check” on us only brought coffee when we asked. Overall, our stay was satisfactory, but this place definitely needs to improve its hospitality and guest service. Given the above this place is too overpriced.

Someone kept running around behind me while I was fishing and yelling, scaring away all the fish. The fishing gear didn't even have a bobber, so I couldn't cast far; I could only fish vertically. The bottled water tasted a bit strange. The bathroom drain was incredibly slow; the shower would clog every time I used it. There was still hair from the previous user stuck in the diving gear, and they didn't even have enough equipment. I can understand not providing diving socks and shoes, but they didn't even *sell* them?? The dinner food was okay, but they were very slow to refill the dishes. Ten minutes after dinner started, all the seafood was gone, and they actually told us we were too late to eat. We had to wait 15 minutes for the next round of refills. They'd only bring out one plate at a time; you'd have to go through a cycle to get enough seafood. The frozen shrimp definitely had a worse texture. I saw a nearby table get a whole platter; couldn't they at least manage things a little better? Paying over 3,000 for one night, what do they mean by giving me such a shoddy experience? No air conditioning in the dining hall is ridiculous. Malaysia is summer all year round. I had to use my own portable fan to eat? There was no mat outside the room door, so after getting wet, the room floor would get completely soaked when I went back inside. Basically, you couldn't watch any movies on the TV; you had to screen mirror from your phone. Everything else I didn't mention was alright, I guess. If you're willing to put up with so many problems for over 3,000, then feel free to go and experience it.

Snorkeling from the overwater villas is restricted to specific times – once in the morning and once in the afternoon. You can't just enter the sea whenever you want, and if you miss these allocated slots, you won't get to snorkel. As soon as we arrived at our overwater villa, local Bajau vendors would come by in boats to sell fresh seafood. Although meals were included, the food variety was quite limited. So, we ended up buying some seafood ourselves and had it prepared at our villa. The quality of the seafood was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. In the evening, we were delighted to see sea turtles swimming past our terrace, which made the kids incredibly happy. These two experiences (the fresh seafood and turtle sighting) were definite highlights! Regarding the room, it's quite basic, so don't set your expectations too high. Having stayed in overwater villas in the Maldives, I must say that the Semporna ones are genuinely not cheap. There's a considerable gap – several levels of difference – in terms of pricing, in-room experience, the quality of included meals, and even the local awareness of marine conservation. Both trips were taken during the summer, and for the same cost, we enjoyed a far superior experience in the Maldives. However, the owner was very warm and welcoming, which is a big plus. Do note that upon arrival at the overwater villa, there's an additional 10 MYR tax per person, which is separate from any tourist tax already covered by the booking platform and needs to be paid additionally. This is my honest review.

Facilities: The resort is still undergoing expansion, so there were quite a few workers around the property. Cleanliness: Cleanliness was unsatisfactory; the room wasn't exactly spotless. Many in-room amenities showed significant signs of age. Environment: The environment has a strong tropical feel and local characteristics, but we encountered a lot of bugs. Service: There was practically no front desk, so don't expect traditional hotel-style service. Late checkout until 3 PM (subject to availability): This option was practically non-existent. Free shuttle service between the resort and the pier (advance booking required): This was very convenient, although the schedule was fixed. Overall: The value for money wasn't great. I booked this suite for 2500 RMB per night, but the living room wasn't directly connected to the bedroom – you had to exit the suite's main door and re-enter. Plus, the room cards were separate, which was quite inconvenient. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

The smartest decision I made on this trip to Semporna was choosing Bean House. We stayed there for all three nights, having booked two months in advance. How lucky were we to stumble upon such an amazing guesthouse and owners!!! I saw many recommendations for Bean House on Xiaohongshu, and usually, there are comments warning against 'influencer traps,' but with Bean House, there were none – only glowing reviews. So I booked it right away! After all, safety is paramount for two girls traveling alone, and Bean House truly made us feel secure. The hotel facilities are top-notch, as expected. Having just opened in 2025, everything is meticulously maintained. The rooms are clean and spacious, and even the power outlets are standard Chinese ones, so no need for UK adapters. The Xiaomi appliances were very convenient to use. There were also mosquito repellent lamps and drying racks outside the room, which were incredibly thoughtful. I chatted with the owners, two uncles, by chance and learned that they started this venture together as a sort of semi-retirement project (though they're clearly too busy to be retired now!). Uncle Bean is in charge of bookings and operations, which is quite a lot of work! The overall operating cost for a guesthouse, especially one with a pool, is very high. They ensure the water quality is up to standard and even have dedicated staff as safety officers for the kids – truly commendable! The guesthouse offers a shuttle service to the pier every morning; just confirm with the owner beforehand. They can also provide round-trip transport to town for meals, though we ended up eating all three meals at the guesthouse. Their creamy prawns, fried noodles, stir-fried rice noodles, and salted egg yolk squid were all incredibly delicious! You can also buy seafood and have them cook it for 25 RM/kg, which is cheaper and tastier than in town! The breakfast each day was also super hearty, with plenty of meat and vegetables to fill us up completely. The soda crackers were so good! A huge thank you to all the staff and uncles at Bean House for providing us with such excellent service and environment. It truly felt like a safe and comfortable home. I want to recommend Bean House to the whole world!!!

Facilities: The room was a bit cramped; it was hard to walk between the tatami mats and the bathroom with two open suitcases. The plastic shower gel holder in the bathroom suddenly fell, which gave me a fright – I recommend replacing it. Hygiene: The room's cleanliness was average, with quite a few fallen hairs. Environment: It was quite good, and the water was clear. Service: The Black staff members were all very friendly. However, the butler and front desk didn't coordinate well. On the 28th, I went to the front desk to book an island hopping tour, but the front desk staff wasn't there. So, I contacted the hotel butler via WeChat to book the tour. After paying, I asked him to send me the specific time, but he didn't. Later, after returning from the sea, I saw the front desk and mentioned that I had booked an island hopping tour for the next day and asked what time it departed. The front desk told me to wait there at 9:30 AM. The next day, I waited until 10 AM, but the boat hadn't arrived. The front desk then told me to contact the butler, who had booked me for the 30th instead. However, the butler's first reaction was that I hadn't confirmed the time with him. He said he asked when I was checking out, and I replied the 30th, so he misunderstood. He then claimed I hadn't confirmed the time with him and asked again what day and time I was leaving, stating that even if I booked for the 29th, I couldn't go deep diving as it hadn't been more than 24 hours. Why didn't he ask me this when I first paid? To me, this was completely shirking responsibility. I checked, and usually, 18 hours or more is perfectly fine. Furthermore, I had communicated with you before checking in that my flight was at 1:45 PM on the 30th and I needed airport transfer. The front desk also recorded a morning island transfer on the 30th during check-in. If they had paid attention, they wouldn't have booked it for the 30th. Secondly, after sending the payment screenshot, I specifically sent another message saying, 'Remember to send me the specific time,' but he never did. Also, I told the front desk about the island hopping tour for the next day, but there was clearly no communication between them. In the end, there wasn't even an apology. I had to chase them for the refund several hours later. Oh, and there was another misleading point: the title 'free fishing' referred to fishing within the hotel premises, which I've taken up with Ctrip. Overall, it was still alright, but I believe that for a stay costing 3600 per night, the service awareness needs to be improved. I chose to stay for two nights, but after the experience, I feel one night would have been enough. I hope the owner can make improvements, and I wish them prosperous business.

The room wasn’t the cleanest, and since I stayed on the ground floor, there were quite a few mosquitoes and some spiders around, and the room had a musty smell. The shared toilet was decent. I am really satisfied with the environment of the room. Because the room faces the garden, there are some bugs outside, so the door gap is taped to prevent the bugs from getting in. You can smoke as soon as you go out the door. But there is no kettle, and you have to go to the kitchen water dispenser to get water. Although it is close to the roadside, it is in the suburbs and is quite quiet at night. A deposit is required. This is the only hotel on Pearl Island, and since we visited during the off-season, there were only two people in the entire hotel. After placing the reservation, the hotel emailed us the boat dock, and we called to confirm our itinerary. We asked several people, but they couldn't clearly explain the dock's location. We went to the wrong dock that morning, and immediately asked again, fearing we'd miss the boat pick-up time. We had originally planned to stay at this hotel so we could hike in the nearby National Forest Park, especially from the top of the mountain overlooking Pearl Island. The day before, we contacted the front desk, and they said we'd book the boat the next morning and pay the boat and guide fees separately. The next day, they told us there were no boats to the National Forest Park, which was a bit disappointing. The hotel is certainly nice, with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Starfish and small fish were clearly visible on the seabed below our room. However, snorkeling requires walking to the other end of the hotel, and you need to be careful when descending the steps to the diving area. The water is cool and there are a variety of small fish and starfish. We even saw a sea turtle on the way to dinner. The meals, while free, were mediocre. Overall, the service is lacking and needs improvement.

The hotel was really just so-so, but its location is great. It's only a 10-minute walk to the pier for boat excursions, and there are supermarkets and restaurants all around. However, I really have to complain about the hotel's service. We were two adults and one child, and we brought our own toiletries. We just wanted to ask for one more bath towel, but the hotel refused... Honestly, it's the first time I've encountered such a stingy hotel. I wasn't trying to take it home; it's just that two towels aren't enough for three people to shower. That's easy to understand, right? Seriously, it's speechless...

You can go hiking and take in stunning views of the emerald-green sea; make sure to seize every opportunity. Booking island hopping tours through the hotel was very cost-effective. We got two snorkeling sessions, each lasting about half an hour, and it was incredible! We saw countless fish and vibrant coral reefs. We ended up staying in Semporna for eight or nine days. The sea fishing was fantastic! We actually caught fish – small groupers and redfish, medium-sized, and plenty for a delicious dinner! We even added an arm-long mantis shrimp to our meal. After shopping around, I chose to book this one. What surprised me too much was that in addition to being clean and convenient, it also allowed us to meet such a good landlord. We flew early on the day of check-in, so the arrival time was a few hours earlier than the check-in time. I contacted the landlord before to arrange the handover of the keys and inform the arrival time. Because the previous guests checked out early, the pregnant lady with a big belly personally took the staff to clean the house, just to let us check in and rest early! For the next few days, we booked with the boss. In addition to this homestay, their family has their own travel agency and hotel. It turned out that the Amway Holiday Hotel, which had not been booked before, was also theirs. It's fate to be able to stay in this Amway home this time! High cost performance! ! ! My girlfriend and I chose an overwater bungalow for our island vacation and ultimately decided on Dragon Pearl Water Villas on Pom Pom Island. It proved to be an excellent choice. The island is quite remote, requiring a 45-minute boat ride from the mainland. It was incredibly clean, unlike other islands we've visited, with absolutely no trash. We also visited during the off-season, meaning fewer crowds, which made for a truly fantastic stay. Staying in an overwater bungalow for a night was a wonderful experience. We could directly witness both the sunrise and moonrise from our room, with fish swimming right beneath us in the clear waters. While the facilities were a bit basic, the natural environment and the overall island development were outstanding. It's truly perfect for couples on a romantic getaway or honeymoon, and also great for girlfriends traveling together to take beautiful photos. The hotel service was also good. While not as convenient as on the mainland (which is to be expected for an island resort), it was generally fine. Overall, I think it's a superb choice and I highly recommend it to everyone. A tip: For the hotel's airport transfer and speedboat services to and from the island, it's crucial to confirm details with both Ctrip and the hotel in advance. Ctrip did an excellent job coordinating everything beforehand, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free journey. Fantastic!

We loved our stay here at Santiri Island Resort. We celebrated our 10th year wedding anniversary and it lived up to our expectation. The resort was beautiful, it was small and intimate and not many rooms, which we enjoy because it limits the crowd on the island. It really felt like we had the island to ourselves. The picture doesn't do its justice. You need to go there to see it for yourself. The resort is unique as it has a sandbank when it's low tide, good for pictures taking or taking a stroll. The food was delicious and you could also get them to cook your seafood that you buy from the sea gypsies. They will try their best to entertain your request. You can snorkel, kayak and paddleboard around the area. The corals are very nice here. The staff here was very helpful and friendly, I would like to thank Dato' (owner), Mandy and Sam and other staff for your hospitality. We Will definitely come back here!

This hotel met my expectations and was reasonably priced! The room was very clean, the sheets were clean and odor-free, and the facilities were relatively dust-free, much cleaner than many hotels in China. The environment was unique, quiet, and comfortable, with a large activity area and plenty of flowers and plants for photo opportunities. The view from the window was also beautiful, with many small animals like bush mice and birds, but few mosquitoes. There were also plenty of lounge chairs for relaxing. Wi-Fi was available throughout the hotel, and there was a Chinese-speaking housekeeper. Scheduled shuttle service was convenient, and the breakfast was delicious, with both porridge and noodles, and I didn't feel unfamiliar. The hotel's seafood was fresh and prepared on site, and all meals were eaten at the hotel. The price was reasonable and convenient. The barbecue party was a real treat; I didn't expect there would be an evening event here, which really made the most of the day. The facilities were complete and new, meeting all my daily needs. The hotel also provided a very thoughtful way to turn on the air conditioning in advance, and there was plenty of hot water. The front desk service was friendly, and my stay was a perfect experience. I will be back with friends next time.

I'm writing a review for your reference. I booked a four-night stay for 800 yuan. My flight was delayed, and I arrived at the B&B after 1:00 AM. I called the owner to open the door, but he was half asleep and his reception was quite cold. I felt embarrassed for arriving so late, but later I realized his attitude had always been cold. 1. That evening, I asked if the room had slippers, and he said, ”Go inside and see for yourself.” 2. The next day, the entire Semporna area experienced a power outage. The water, electricity, and air conditioning in the room didn't work. It was dark and stuffy inside, and I didn't dare open the windows for fear of mosquitoes. So everyone in the room went to sit in the courtyard for hours without electricity, and I got bites all over my legs. A woman in another room asked, ”When will you call if there's any news?” The owner got impatient and said, ”Why are you asking me the same question? I just answered someone else, and I don't know.” 3. We slept for a makeshift night, but none of our phones could be charged and were on the verge of dying. In the morning, we took the owner's car to the pier. A woman asked the owner if he could pick us up at the pier that afternoon, fearing we wouldn't be able to get back to the B&B without a dead phone. The owner was reluctant, but half a day later promised to pick us up at 5:00. 4. That night, there was still no power. Many people were waiting in the courtyard with their suitcases, waiting to change hotels. Because!! I had only learned from others during the day that many hotels have their own generators!! Furthermore, media reports indicated that this was the largest power outage in 10 years and that repairs would take a long time. The owner didn't inform us of the situation in advance, nor did he offer to change hotels, leaving us waiting. We ended up moving to a hotel right by the pier for just over 300 yuan. It had electricity, hot water, a supermarket, an ATM, and a restaurant, and it was within walking distance of the ferry, which was incredibly convenient. Overall, the B&B was nice, with spacious and clean rooms. The location was a bit remote, taking 15 minutes to get to the pier. It felt a bit like a hotel with a slanted view. If you're not afraid of power outages and don't care about the service, this is a good option. It's a good value. However, it is said that power outages are common in Semporna. Please use your discretion and make sure to ask your hotel in advance if they have a generator. Otherwise, you may suffer when you go out without hot water, electricity, or air conditioning.
