Central Tokyo Tokyo|2.87km from city center
The room was a bit dated, but it was fully equipped. Its biggest advantage is the downtown location, making it incredibly convenient to get around, with easy subway access to everywhere. The breakfast was fantastic, but unfortunately, we couldn't see the peak of Mount Fuji during our stay.

Ginza/Tsukiji Tokyo|0.31km from city center
The location is fantastic, super close to Higashi-Ginza Station – literally just 2 meters away! The hotel offers a pillow menu, complimentary pajamas, and a daily onsen (hot spring bath), meaning you don't have to squeeze into a tiny in-room shower. These thoughtful amenities alone make it a truly worthwhile choice! In the evenings, there's a complimentary welcome bar offering a variety of drinks to sample at your leisure, which definitely adds a fun touch to your trip. Plus, a Yoshinoya is conveniently located just about ten meters from the hotel entrance, ideal for grabbing a late-night gyudon after a long day of shopping. What a great bonus!

The moment I stepped through the hotel doors, kicking off my shoes felt like coming home. Walking barefoot around the premises was incredibly relaxing. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were so warm and friendly, making me feel completely at ease. They explained the hotel amenities and menu as if we were just catching up with old friends. My room was quiet and spotless, and the overall atmosphere was calm and uncrowded – truly ideal for relaxation. The hotel's convenient location right by the subway station made getting around incredibly easy. I absolutely loved my stay!

This was my third time living in this hotel when I travel to Tokyo. The hotel located in Ningyocho, which is a high-accessibility place but very peace at the same time. There are also 4 convenience store nearby the hotel. The hotel room is big enough, and the room always very tidy. The staffs are nice! Love this hotel so much, highly recommend to those visit tokyo, and I will come back to this hotel again with no doubt❤️

A very clean hotel with a great location — Lawson, Family Mart, 7/11, and plenty of cafés are nearby, plus the metro is within walking distance. The staff was very kind; thank you for helping me send my suitcase to Osaka. The room was nice, the bathroom was clean, and in the lobby there’s complimentary coffee, lemon water, and a few other drinks (I don’t quite remember 🫣). The only downside was the window facing a wall 🥲. I didn’t complain, but it did leave a bit of an unpleasant impression. Overall though, it’s a good hotel.

Roppongi Tokyo|3.16km from city center
We stayed in the twin room, which was slightly bigger than the other rooms and allowed us more space to move around. Self check-in and check-out via the counter machines but staff were present to assist whenever required. Check-in timing is strictly at 2pm, however you can store your luaugge with the hotel. Area around the hotel is quieter in the day time as the area seems to be more night-life catered (clubs/pubs around). Plenty of food options around. Overall a decent stay.

We were really satisfied with this hotel! It was our last two nights in Japan as three girls traveling together, and the location was absolutely perfect. Step out, and there’s a FamilyMart on the right, followed by Donki. Walk straight from the main entrance, and you’ll reach Ginza Six. Many popular Instagram-worthy spots are within walking distance. We highly recommend the Yellow Soup Curry—this hotel is a bit pricey, but that’s expected in Ginza.

The room was a bit small; once our suitcases were open, it was hard to move around. However, the bedding was great, with one soft and one firm pillow. The pajamas provided were very comfortable, and the free foot patches and face masks were a nice touch and very effective, helping me sleep soundly. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but the quality and taste were excellent.

Haneda Airport/Kamata Tokyo|13.45km from city center
This was an overnight stop for us. While the facilities were just average, the hotel's shuttle bus to Haneda Airport (running every 30 minutes in the morning) was a game-changer. It was incredibly convenient not having to drag our luggage to the train station, as we were dropped off easily and directly at the Haneda Airport departure level.

Lovely hotel, rooms are small but cosy with food AC. Smoking area around the back which is nice My only issues are as follows; the sink didn't drain very fast and often upon being out for hours the bathroom would smell quite bad. Aside from that, I got fresh towels delivered every day, which was far too many to use over the course of my ten day stay 😅 So great service, great rooms and it's nearby to Ueno station with direct routes to everywhere else you could want to go.

Tokyo Tower Area Tokyo|2.41km from city center
It's a good hotel with an excellent location and convenient transportation. The only downside was finding out upon arrival that an additional 15,000 yen was required for a tower view room! We ended up paying the extra fee to upgrade anyway. The front desk staff were professional but lacked a bit of warmth, which could be improved.

Shinjuku Area Tokyo|5.44km from city center
I absolutely *loved* our stay here. From the rooftop onsen, with a fabulous views across Tokyo, to the lovely little extras (like the free ice-cream after the onsen, and 10pm treats). The entrance and lobby are just beautiful, a calm oasis after the madness of Tokyo. The location is perfect - far enough away from the busiest streets to be quiet at night, but close enough to be in the thick of things. Our road had a wonderful izakaya, a fantastic ramen place, and a gem of a breakfast cafe on it, as well as the obligatory 7-elevens, and was very close to the Shinjuku Gyoen National Gardens. Our room was tiny, but we knew this making the booking - I would advise paying close attention to the room size, so that you know what you're getting when you make the booking. There are much larger rooms available, for a higher price. The difference in room size could make a big difference to your stay, if you have a lot of luggage (which we didn't). I will absolutely stay here again, next time I'm in Tokyo.

They charge extra for children. Upon our 1 AM arrival, the hotel insisted on an additional 3000. After some negotiation, they initially agreed to waive the fee. However, the next day, after we had Ctrip contact them to confirm no further charges for our extended stay, the hotel surprisingly reversed their decision and still demanded the extra payment. Their staff's communication throughout this process was very poor. On a positive note, the hotel's bath facilities were excellent and very satisfying. The main drawback is that the price is simply too expensive.

Tokyo|5.86km from city center
This was my second time staying here, primarily because of the beautiful courtyard and gardens, which I absolutely adore. Overall, the experience was decent but unremarkable. The facilities are certainly showing their age; for instance, the water pressure from the shower head was quite low, and the fabric on the chairs was visibly worn. Some service details, however, were rather disappointing. When I inquired at the front desk about purchasing a bus ticket to Narita Airport, the staff member quite seriously (but dismissively) told me that it might not be possible to buy one due to lack of availability. Yet, the very next day, it was just myself and one other Chinese gentleman on the bus, and he had apparently secured his ticket in less than two minutes. I found this incredibly frustrating! Given that Chinzanso itself has a dedicated airport bus stop, guests are naturally going to have questions requiring proper assistance, making the front desk's unhelpfulness quite unprofessional. That said, the overall service level is generally still above average.

Ueno/Asakusa Tokyo|4.31km from city center
As it's a Japanese-style room, they've opted for a rather long entrance hall, which unfortunately makes the bedroom feel a bit cramped. However, despite the compact size, it's incredibly well-equipped. All essential amenities are provided, and even the bathroom isn't small, making it perfectly sufficient for a solo traveler to relax and unwind. Right outside the hotel, there's a vibrant array of eateries, somewhat akin to Chinese street food stalls, making the evenings very lively. Plus, it's conveniently close to the subway station. The top floor boasts a public bath and sauna, while the lounge area provides a free ice machine and complimentary ice cream. They even offer a free bowl of soba noodles in the evenings, which collectively makes it truly excellent value for money. Self-service laundry facilities (washer and dryer) are also available on the top floor. You'll need to ask staff to activate them, and there's a charge for the dryer.

Have stayed at apa hotels in Japan and was satisfied. Decided to stay in akihibara area again but stay at Dormy. Was excited to find for a similar cost I received a bigger room with a nicer onsen and they cleaned my room every day. Workers were courteous and worked hard to keep me satisfied. Only negative was a disappointing breakfast so we went to grocery next door and had what we wanted for a similar price. The only other issue is they should move the microwave downstairs to the seating area on entry area. Why put a microwave where the onsen or spa is. Its silly

Around 5 mins walk to Akihabara Subway Station (Exit 5) on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. 3. Less than 10 mins walk to JR Akihabara Station on the JR Yamanote Line. Access to rooms and hotel’s main entrance (after midnight) is via a PIN code. Love the public bath available from 3pm to 9am the next day and the complimentary alcoholic drinks available at its lounge from 6pm to 10pm. One can also choose pillows (if available) if one’s preference. Coin-operated dryer and washer are available. Buffet breakfast had a reasonable variety of both Western and local Japanese dishes. I really like these luxury hotels that, despite being old, are still well-maintained. I booked a tower room, and after check-in, it was quite a walk to get there, but a staff member helped with my luggage and brought it to the room. I've stayed at the Imperial Hotel Osaka before, and the service and decor style are consistently similar. On the second day, a floor lamp in my room was accidentally damaged, but it was quickly replaced with a new one, and I wasn't charged for it. The breakfast options are extensive; I only tried the buffet and the Western set menu, and both were very satisfying.

Fanciest hotel we’ve stayed at in Japan! Got a very good deal from Trip and it was AMAZING! Only around 25 mins away to the Disneyland/Disneysea, and loved how there was a Family Mart connected to the hotel on the ground floor. Ueno/Asakusa Tokyo|4.66km from city center
This hotel feels remarkably spacious for a Japanese hotel; you can fully open your suitcase without it getting in the way. For my last three trips to Tokyo, I've chosen the Ueno Garden hotels, and each one has been very comfortable. There's a convenience store right across the street if you turn right, and plenty of dining options nearby. The only minor drawback is that you have to cross a pedestrian bridge when coming from Ueno Station, which can be a bit confusing. I think it's easier to exit from the Panda entrance. Google Maps led me down a path without an elevator, so I just ended up wandering around without navigation! 😂 Also, the pedestrian bridge elevators stop working at night, so if you have luggage, that's something to keep in mind.

We stayed for two days and were very satisfied. The homestay is very easy to find, and it arrived smoothly according to the route map given by the landlord. However, the homestay needs to carry luggage up on the 2nd floor. Fortunately, we don't have too much luggage, and we feel more at ease than the 1st floor and above the 2nd floor. The room is very large and bright, and it feels a little wasteful for four people! Two babies use a small children's room, there are toys and picture books, and they can also doodle on the big screen. Our couple sleeps in a room too freely ~ It is very quiet at night, the shading effect in the room is also very good, plus no one disturbs, the quality of sleep is quite guaranteed. The big TV in the living room also makes the children very excited. It is also a small memory for the whole family to gather together to watch movies on Netflix at night. The kitchen is very full. Although we went out to play this time mainly to eat outside, it should be convenient if we stay for a long time next time. The 2nd and 3rd floors are equipped with bedroom bathroom desks, which is too convenient for husbands who have to use a computer when going out, and they can also enjoy a floor with noisy children. The landlord is very kind. We added WeChat and can contact you at any time. We are very relieved. All in all, very satisfied, I want to choose here next time!

The location was very convenient and really close to major metro lines . The view from the high floor was nice especially for watching the sunset. As others have posted the room was really small. If you stay more then two days you will need to close your suitcase and organize your things when housekeeping comes. Otherwise they wouldn’t be able to get very far into the room. The water filer and ice machine on the room floor was really helpful especially when going out for the day with the July heat. The room was not so clean. When I went to use the humidifier it was covered in dust which set off my allergies. Also one of the walls had water damage. There was also a badly done patch on the corner of the wall. The lack of more than one outlet next the bed was annoying, especially when the provided charger didn’t work. One of the reasons I booked was the “lounge”. It was quite disappointing. It was loud in the room and it was right next to a smoking room. The available beverages were not that great. I don’t drink coffee and the juice was so sugary. One more thing that was a little annoying, but not necessarily a negative was housekeeping giving me new towels everyday even though I never put used towels outside with my trashcan in the morning. I stayed less than a week so I was fine using the two provided towels, so I had two bags of new towels sitting on my floor until housekeeping cleaned my room.

This hotel *absolutely* won't let guests sleep! The hotel *insists* on room cleaning between 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM. If you don't comply, they'll call your room repeatedly and staff will even come knocking on your door to hassle you! They simply won't let you get any rest! I work nights and need to sleep past midday. However, the staff here showed *no understanding* whatsoever! After decades of staying in hotels, this is the *first time* I've encountered such an issue! That 'Do Not Disturb' sign (pictured in Fig 3) is completely useless, as they *insist* on coming in to inspect the room themselves! If you cannot leave your room before noon for them to clean, *do not* choose this hotel! What's more, right from check-in, I found the hotel wasn't clean! There were numerous unidentified items on the floor – I would have done a better job cleaning it myself!

The environment is very clean, and the bedding is super comfortable. It's really convenient to pick up toiletries downstairs. Although the room is small, it has everything you need. We chose this hotel because my partner smokes, and it's one of the few smoking rooms available in Tokyo. The location is, of course, incredibly convenient. We booked a car for 10 days, but didn't use it at all for two days because we were shopping in Ginza. The room was bright and of a good size. It came with Mikimoto toiletries, and I even took the unused ones home. The pillows deserve a special mention, as they were the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel. The hotel also features its own beautiful garden courtyard, which is perfect for a relaxing half-hour stroll. Transportation is very convenient. A shuttle bus provides direct service to Meguro Station, and from there, the Yamanote Line offers excellent access to Shibuya, Harajuku, and Shinjuku. Getting to Yokohama is also straightforward. Taxis are readily available 24/7 right outside the hotel entrance. A taxi ride to Haneda Airport cost around ¥3,000-¥4,000, which I considered a reasonable price. Location: Exiting Shibuya station, there's ongoing construction, so you might need a moment to find your bearings, but it's not difficult to locate, situated directly opposite Tokyo Plaza. Facilities: The hotel is very modern, featuring a spacious lobby and relatively new room amenities. It comes equipped with a full set of L'Occitane toiletries, and as a delightful surprise, we also received an SK-II morning and evening skincare sample set upon check-in. Environment: The view from the window is absolutely stunning, both by day and night. I snapped a quick photo, and it honestly looks like a perfect backdrop for a blogger's video – haha! Service: The front desk check-in service was excellent. However, for a hotel of this standard, the breakfast quality felt a bit basic, with limited options. Coffee and tea had to be brought by staff – I'm not sure if that was meant to make guests feel more pampered or exclusive. Overall, the breakfast was just average, but everything else was great.

I've always been a loyal fan of Ascott, but the Ascott Tokyo really left me speechless. Upon check-in, we were informed that the entire building would have a power outage on our last day, meaning all guests had to vacate their rooms before noon. What's more, luggage storage wasn't allowed, so we had to drag our five suitcases ourselves to the JR Tokyo Station, about a 10-minute walk away, and pay 5000 yen to store them. The hotel offered no compensation or even assistance with transporting the luggage to the station. Even more outrageous, the power went out twice in the middle of the night that day, causing the washing machine to stop mid-cycle and forcing us to rewash a whole load of clothes. Additionally, the power outage was announced to start at noon, but breakfast wasn't served at all that morning. At check-in, the front desk staff had us register for a new ASR membership and gave us breakfast vouchers, promising they could be used any day, yet when we tried to use them, breakfast wasn't available? What a joke. Please note, we were only informed of this entire power outage incident upon check-in. Why wasn't this communicated in advance? A power outage affecting the entire building is a major event, and the hotel must have known about it well in advance. If we had been notified earlier, we would have had time to choose another hotel. Instead, the hotel's complete inaction left us with no other options upon arrival. This is completely unacceptable in Japan, a country known for its excellent customer service!
