Wyndham Garden Otsego-Minneapolis

Otsego|9.18km from St. Michael-Albertville Arena
Mom friends travelling with 4 kids (12-17). We shared a 2 qn suite, Girls took the 2 qns in the separate bedroom while the boys had the pullout sofa (and the air mattress we brought). Living room area was small, and SUPER dimly lit. (Hallways also very dim) Furniture shows its age, very dingey. I always bring a large sheet to cover the couch bc couches in hotels kind of gross me out lol. Beds in bedroom were clean and comfortable. We did not find any mold in our room, though dust on ceiling near vent may be what others have thought were mold(?). Walls are VERY thin, bring something for white noise to drown out the sounds from next door and above. Note that only FAMILY SUITES include 6 waterpark passes, NOT the 2 queen suite as we had thought- the desk clerk advised us at check in that we would have to pay $20 EACH FOR 2 EXTRA PASSES PER DAY. ya, no thanks! Our kids went on their own without issue, however when their key cards didn't work to get back into our room after their swim the desk clerk was SUPER RUDE to them, refused to help, and left them freezing in wet towels while they frantically tried to call us on the WORST WIFI THAT EVER EXISTED. We hadn't been to this property in years, and it's worn down for sure. It's an old Holiday Inn that Wyndham is slowly refurbishing, def needs it! Waterpark was fine for kids, again needs some updates, drain the pools and re-finish/paint the bottoms! They had no complaints though- and it was tons cheaper than great wolf during spring break. Kids quickly spent their cash at the arcade too, would've been nice to be able to use the basement area games room they used to have for free. Bottom line: Old hotel that seems hit and miss with state of room cleanliness. Ours was fine. Evening Desk clerk was more interested in her cell phone than helping our kids when they were locked out. No bugs or mold that we could find in rm 327. Terrible wifi, no free breakfast and poor lighting throughout. Kids (12-17yrs) liked the waterpark. Hoping the reno's bring this hotel back up to par, as it's convenient to Minneapolis, without being right in the big city. Target is walkable, Walmart, restaurants and small shopping mall a short drive away.

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Albertville, MN
4.4/597 Reviews
I was lodging at this establishment while on work training. The entire stay was from Sunday night thru Friday. The ease of registering and departing was very pleasant. The representative that I interacted with was also very inviting and thorough with any needs I had. With that being said, 3 of the continental breakfast ”hot” options were less than hot, which I toted to my room to microwave to a pleasing temperature. The bananas that were available were overly ripe, spotting on most of them. The bread, which was cellophane wrapped, was hard to the point of toasting was only means of eating it. Mind you, I'm an early riser, so I was waiting for this breakfast daily and would be there at 6:10, so everything was fresh and less hands have been touching things. One day was fairly windy. I was kept awake more than asleep from the wind howling through the windows, which were locked tight. There was even a cold draft on my feet as I stood in front of the heater. My final morning I heard loud banging outside. After investigation, I noticed it was a trash truck. As I mentioned earlier, I'm an early riser, but to guests that aren't awake by 5 am, that noise would have certainly startled them. I also was a second floor guest, so I can't imagine how loud it was on the main floor.
