Epic Sana Algarve Hotel

Aldeia das Açoteias Olhos de Agua|0.42km from Praia da Falesia
We booked this hotel for a relaxing break, and that’s pretty much what we got. Our booking included a private transfer from the airport and from the moment we set foot in the hotel we were made to feel special. The checking in process was very straightforward, and although our room wasn’t quite ready due to the early flight, we were offered breakfast while we waited. Our bags were delivered to the room, and we were greeted with a welcome flower, complimentary bottle of water and sweets. Two bottles of water and chocolates subsequently arrived daily, which was a welcome surprise. The room itself is very spacious with a huge and very comfortable bed, TV, plenty of storage including wardrobe with a light, ironing board & iron, fridge and coffee machine. The bathroom forms part of the bedroom with sliding doors for privacy, and includes a lovely bath and walk in shower, plus complimentary toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers are also provided for the spa. We didn’t use the aircon so unable to comment on that, but the balcony included a table with two chairs plus a sun lounger. Our room had a distant sea view and overlooked some lovely gardens with resident blackbirds and Iberian Magpies. Pretty sparrows can be seen around the complex, as well as a Hoopoe bird. The hotel is situated in extensive grounds with access to the beach which boasts stunning cliffs. It is well worth visiting the beach, and walking around the headland. Be sure to check out the gardens with the Love Tree, swing seat and secluded loungers. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because of the indoor pool. We knew that the weather at the end of March/early April could be unpredictable. As it turned out, we were pleasantly surprised – most days were hot albeit with a degree of breeze. Towels are provided and loungers plentiful. What we didn’t bargain for was the temperature of the outdoor pools – they were freezing! We arrived on the 30 March, and the pools were not heated until our last full day, allowing us to really enjoy the experience. The other disappointing aspect was the lack of vegetarian options for meals. Breakfast was fantastic with so many options for all – cooked breakfast, variety of egg dishes cooked to order, cheeses & cold meats, cereal, fruit, yogurt, bread & pastries. We booked half board and dinner was a different story. On the first and second nights I managed to cobble together some dishes to make a meal. I did speak to the restaurant team who were incredibly helpful and attentive for the remainder of our stay. Overall, we loved the hotel. The WiFi is pretty good, there are lifts to every floor, and the hotel is beautifully decorated throughout.

Pine Cliffs Ocean Suites, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Algarve

Aldeia das Açoteias Olhos de Agua|1.11km from Praia da Falesia
Our second time in the Algarve and so pleased to have stayed at the pretty Pine Cliffs - think comfort in splendid surroundings. The Ocean Suites are very well designed for privacy and functionality. The kitchen and living room are so gorgeous and perfectly equipped (there is everything you need). So we opt out of breakfast, as it was very easy and only a short morning walk to the nearest shops for fruits and snacks for the children. There is a pool a few steps away from your Ocean Suite. If you stay at the OS you have free access to the spa which is lovely too. We prefer the sea though - and Praia da Falesia is absolutely stunning - it reminded me of Brazil with fun waves and golden sands. In February the sea is cold ( and so clean!) but not a problem for us as we are big fans of cold water. Just wished they had more options on their Beach Restaurant bar menu. The walk to the beach is easy offering a beautiful view of the falesias. My recommendation is to read the website to understand the difference between the residence/Ocean suites and the hotel. The resort has plenty to offer in an elegant relaxing way and their service was really good. You know when you arrive at your hotel room for the first day and everything is spotted on? Everyday, the cleaners were so good that it felt like we had just arrived - the bed, bathroom, kitchen everywhere was organised as if it was our first day there. We dined at the Pescador most of the nights and the food was amazing. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. We ventured out to Olhos d'agua once but most restaurants are closed in February. We hope to come back next year. Have a good season!

Stayed at this hotel over Christmas. Not good holiday ruined by horrible staff. No manners.Girls on reception desk are lovely.Staff in restaurants need training on how to treat and respect people.especially one very rude staff member .I cried one day how he he spoke to me. He made me and my husband feel very uncomfortable in the restaurant. Where he asked to see our armbands it was the way he approached us was the problem he got my arm, and said no, no. Then he did , the same to my husband he shouted you not paid for all-inclusive and went straight to reception. I felt very embarrassed.😳 he then made us wear our armbands in front of everyone and said we could not eat till we put them on no apology was given. The food in the restaurant was very cold, I mean freezing. I could not use the door by the bar area after 630, and was told to get out with no respect. I have never been spoken like this by staff on holiday. There was no manners and respect. There was old people spoken to the same way. They were upset it was too cold to go all the way round it was freezing some nights.I never complain, but I felt this hotel put me off booking Christmas holidays. I was looking forward to it so much and my holiday Christmas was ruined. The bath in the bathroom had no plugs. I had to go down to reception and get them and then We we was only given one to the bath. Me and my husband found it very hard to get into the bath as there was a glass screen on the wall it was fixed to the bath. There was disabled people in the hotel and they mentioned this to very difficult to get in and out, and you could not turn the tap off. I rented the ironing board and iron out on our stay for €10, which was given back when you took the ironing board and iron back. The ironing board was disgusting stains on board iron burnt marks on iron.when I returned both iron and ironing board, I was made to feel I had not paid my deposit as they had mixed up with other customers and gave my deposit to somebody else I was made to feel I have not paid No apology was made and it was their mistake. I will not be returning to this hotel I spent a lot of money on this hotel, I was disappointed most of it.There was a lot of complaints off the guests on the drink glasses they were plastic cups given to us on Christmas Day and in the hotel on the evenings I can understand plastic being used outside by pool area but I’ve never been to a hotel and had to have plastic inside. this was a big issue with all the guests. on a stay the pool area was not cleaned once. and the tables around the pool. There were plastic cups and rubbish left on the tables from day before. For a 4star hotel I expect better never experienced such a dirty hotel. I’ve been to 3 star that have been better.

Super holiday! We have just spent 10days on half board here at the Porto bay Falesia. We had a fantastic time. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, bending over backwards to make the experience all the more pleasurable. We stayed in a sea view room on the 3rd floor and it was amazing! Great size room with lovely bathroom and rituals products. Cleaning staff were so lovely and kept our room spruced up throughout our stay. The food was really good. The selection was so good, always something for everyone, I prefer fish and my husband prefers meat and neither were disappointed. We also had a meal at il basilica which was great. We spent most of the week relaxing by the pool or on the beach and walking. The pool area is perfect for reading a book, plenty of loungers. The beach is accessed by around 120 steps which we loved but I can see they may be an issue if not so mobile or able. The beach is incredible! We walked to vila moura which took around 2 hours, had lunch and walked back. There was also a lovely walk along the cliff top in the other direction going via the town of olhos de agua. This walk was spectacular! It takes you all the way to Maria Luisa beach via a restaurant on the beach called passaro azul ( definitely worth a visit). We spent a morning at the indoor pool, sauna and steam room which was nice as it was raining outside. My husband also used the gym which was adequate. The town is sweet with a selection of restaurants and shops plus a small supermarket for supplies! All in all we had a fantastic 10days and will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a great holiday!

I really rely on reviews to book my holiday so il be as detailed as possible. -Immaculate hotel (the cleanest I have ever been too) the staff work incredibly hard keeping every single bit of this hotel clean. -Arrived at 11am and got our room at 12 which was not expected but we were very grateful. -Room lovely and spacious ideal apartment with space for luggage etc in hallway fridge and microwave very handy -Family orientated hotel as previous review states I personally wouldn’t come as a couple, this is our first holiday with our 18month old and it was ideal for us but previously we very much preferred adults only hotels as a couple -pool towels can be changed daily at reception and unlimited bottles of water from reception brilliant touch saves lugging bottles of water from shop -Food was good, I’m fussy but always found something to eat. Fresh good quality and generally just what most all inclusives are like. Pool bar stocked 12-6 with chips hotdogs toasties etc -Boxes in each block with leftovers previous guests have left are a brilliant idea, we borrowed a couple of toys for our daughter and left them again when we left along with inflatable seat bucket and spade etc. ideal! -Pool was cold but ok once you are in, the outside temp is low 20s so was to be expected -Air con in room works great -Kids disco good but only 20 mins long. Can’t comment on evening entertainment as we went to take wee one to bed but from what I heard from room sounded good. -we walked the 10 min walk to the beach daily with a pram so not sure why others say it’s not possible A couple of minor negatives and tips - our room was the ground floor and we paid extra for a pool view but our balcony (like many others) was completely covered by trees so always in the shade, there was 8 steps down to our door so each time we left the room we had to lift the stroller up and down them (if you have a pram request an accessible room) -the noise from upstairs room was pretty loud try request top floor -the door lock on the room unlocks and when the handle is pulled, dangerous for toddlers they really need fitted with a chain All in all a very very nice hotel with a high standard of cleanliness and I would highly recommend to stay here :)

Falesia Beach
I have just spent a very pleasant five nights at the resort. The setting and pools are really amazing. It is a very short walk to the beach down a large flight of stairs. No problem going down but useful stopping place halfway for coming back up. We had a twin room Which was clean and comfortable, but there are a few issues such as we had ants in the bathroom. The electrics tripped every time we plugged in the kettle and the mini fridge was old and slightly rusty on the front. Had a really comfy night sleep in the beds and the sofa was also very comfortable All fairly minor issues which could be easily improved. Breakfast and lunch were generally very good but the evening meals a little hit and miss. It was our first time going all inclusive so it was strange at first not having to pay for anything, but really good for budgeting. Because we’d come towards the end of the season, the entertainment really wasn’t to our taste, although we seen over the summer that there was some really really good. Looking tribute nights was quite disappointed these were not on whilst we were there. The hotel is a little remote, but there is a daily shuttle bus which alternates between Albufeira and Vilamoura for just one euro per person. Dinner at the grill was excellent. It did need to be booked that morning which could be quite a long queue. If this hotel was rated a three star I would definitely give it five out of five. I’ve never known a four star hotel to charge for kettle hire or exchanging beach towels.
Pine Cliffs Gardens

Aldeia das Açoteias
The Garden Suites are the newest rooms at Pine Cliffs and they are stunning! We previously stayed at the Pine Cliffs Hotel in 2019, and we can’t fault it, it was lovely but the Garden suites are so luxurious and modern!! The beds are so comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped with plates, cutlery, cups etc and if you are self catering there is a FABULOUS supermarket just around a 5 minute walk from the Garden suites. The pool is lovely, and is often fairly quiet because the Garden suites are towards the back of the resort. It’s about a 10 minute walk to breakfast, which is no problem, it’s a lovely walk, and you get to see a lot of the resorts (including some adorable cats). Everything is clean!!! The cleaners are fabulous and so kind!! We are returning in a few weeks, for the 3rd time in the past year, what can I say, we LOVE IT! The balconies are a lovely size, we were absolutely blessed last time with 2 MASSIVE balconies, can’t even explain how amazing it was to sit on them after dinner and play a game of UNO with the family!! Best resort, fully worth of its 5 stars!!

Very recommended to stay, cost-effective, the environment is very good. Beautiful environment, good geographical location, convenient transportation, comfortable and sanitary rooms, service staff are very enthusiastic, facilities are very humane, high-speed network signal is good, the view outside the window is good. The design of the room's small pendulum is also very distinctive. Next time, check in.
