Best Hotels in Amoudara Herakliou

Easy to get to from the airport, we just hopped on the #6 city bus, and there is a bus stop right in front of the property. City busses are clean,and cheap, I think it was about 5€ or so, and takes about 35 mins. Check in was really smooth. The place is spotless, customer service is very good, they upgraded us to a small bungalow right next to the beach. We were taken by golf cart which was nice. Accommodation was clean, and new, nice bed, decent bathroom, it's a little small, but has a shower, no tub. Really nice deck area to have coffee and listen to the ocean. The room has a small fridge, a safe, decent closet space, a small couch, queen sized bed, large TV, and great wifi. Actually wifi was available everywhere on site. We opted for the breakfast package, which was actually very nice. Buffet style, but literally dozens of options. Fresh fruits, breads, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, many many hot dishes, you will not go hungry. We also had one formal sit down fancy dinner which was also very nice. We didn't really use any of the on-site facilities, but we did hang out at the pool for a few hours one day. Even though it seems like there was a lot of people there were still a lot of loungers available. Pool looked really nice, only a few people used it. Beach area also has loungers and umbrella for free use. Really nice sandy and shallow beach, great for kids, but it does get windy, so keep that in mind. Impressive amount of smokers manage to keep a steady supply of cigarette butts in the sand at all beaches we visited. Kind of gross, but this seems like a European thing? Can't say we have seen this in other places. I would easily reco.mend this place due to the fact that it was really clean, food was nice, easy to get to, lots of off site dining, gift shopping, bakeries, grocery stores, and car rental places within a 10 minute walk.

Visited this hotel in Aug , quick transfer from airport. Room was nice we were in main block but balcony was overlooked by another block so no privacy. Not that it bothered us really. We loved saying morning to other guests to get a complete blank back. Don't think they were happy to be on holiday. All staff were lovely it's nice to acknowledge them as the hours they work and just a thankyou would be nice for them. Food was nice plenty of choice but usual buffet, would say wasn't keen on the fish a bit strong tasting. My kids loved the puddings. After 7 days we started eating out to try local restaurants for a change. Nice to help the local eateries aswell. Beach was 5mins walk and sunloungers were free if you got a drink from the beach restaurants. They would take your order from sunlounger. Coke 2.50 euro Resort itself was really quiet in the evening , no entertainment at hotel but we knew this. The crepe lady was amazing at the pool bar And last the swimmingpool was massive and warm. Vacation hotel The environment is good, there is a swimming pool and an exclusive beach There are also cute cats to pet in the lobby. Optional meals included (two/three meals a day) It is far from the city, but there is bus line 1 in front of the hotel that can go directly to the Archaeological Museum in the city center. Taxi from airport to hotel 32 euros The hotel can book a taxi. It cost 25 euros for the two of us to go to the port early in the morning. (A Mercedes-Benz business car arrived. I was a little panicked, but it turned out that I was overly worried; cautious friends can clarify the price when booking.)

What a lovely 10 nights, a lifestyle resort! Need a break? This is the place to go, the scenery and food is outstanding, standard room was perfect to watch the sunrise and offers beautiful scenery of the scenic beach with crystal clear waters and welcoming bars and shops. But the entertainment is basic pub stuff apart from the Cuban night, the al a carte restaurants are amazing! The staff are amazing friendly and the spa is fantastic, it was an absolute pleasure to stay here, hopefully during the next stay the experience is the same, Thank you so much for your outstanding hospitality.

The hotel is in an excellent location to explore Iraklion. There is a good restaurant, called Xayiati, directly opposite serving delicious Greek food and there is a wide choice of restaurants in the city centre a short walk away. The rooms were modern, spacious and comfortable with plenty of electric sockets and a kettle to make hot drinks. The breakfast was very good. There was lots of choice. The food was set out to allow social distancing and gloves and hand sanitiser were provided. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There was a car park a few metres away which the hotel has a special arrangement with so that guests pay a discounted rate.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for 6 nights last month. The thing that caught our eye was the adults only option. If you hate loud undisciplined children and their insufferable entitled parents then this is the place for you. The staff is there to focus on their guests without having to play babysitter to spoiled brats. The service was impeccable. When my wife finished off a particularly good bottle of wine during dinner service at the hotel restaurant, the hostess Christianna drove to their sister hotel location to fetch another one of those bottles. The room was also great. Very spacious terrace with a hot tub and the bed was comfortable. I noticed other reviews where one of the complaints was the location and proximity to attractions. So what. That’s the point I think. Let’s be frank….the city is not all it’s cracked up to be. It’s dusty and hot and aside from the bayfront, not all that pretty. The beach is at most a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There is an awesome bakery practically across the street that is better than anything I saw in Heraklion. We also went to a restaurant that was recommended by the bartender that turned out to be so good, we went there twice. The restaurant is called Thigaterra and is only 8 minutes by foot from the hotel. There is also a large grocery store 2 minutes from the hotel that actually has everything you might need or have forgotten. Once you go adults only, you’ll never go back.

The hotel is strategically located within walls of old city between the beach of Ammoudara and the main attractions, not so far from them. Hotel is re-innovated 7 floor building. Rooms are not large, but but enough for the convenient accommodation. The room has the safe, TV, several chairs, table and the wardrobe, electric kettle, air conditioner. There is quite large balcony with two beach chairs and the small table and also drying hanger for the clothes. Unfortunately there is quite a lot of dust in the air from street, so everything gets dusty very quickly. The room has electric sockets next to the beds and two other sockets, one of them with USB port. The personnel speaks English and very friendly and helpful. The avenue Kalokerinou named after the discoverer of the Knossos Palace is quite busy road so it is nicer to live on higher floors. There is a restaurant serving good continental breakfast. There is omelette, ham, cheese, Greek yogurt, flakes, fruits, on the menu. Just 70 meters from the hotel there is Bazaar and in 200 m is Chalkiadakis supermarket, Lidl in 800 m outside of the city walls. All closed on Sundays. The avenue Kalokerinou has several street food places, and if you walk 400 m to Morosini Lions Fountain you can find even more restaurants there. Heraklion has a problem with great beaches, but in 500 m from the hotel there is a Dermatos Bay, where is a wild beach where one can deep into the sea. The proper beach is in Ammoudara in 2.2 km from the hotel. There is another beach in 1 km in front of Talos Plaza shopping mall, but it is rocky and no sunbeds or lifeguard. Another place to swim is the port mole starting from the Kules fortress in 1.2 km. The mole protects from high waves when it is windy and other places are not suitable for swimming.
