We travelled here as a party of 6 (3 couples) for a 4 night stay hoping to getaway from the hustle and bustle of working life and it was anything but. Check in wasn’t until 3pm and we were told the water had been on and off all day so the cleaners were struggling to clean the rooms so we were given a room shortly after 5pm so wasn’t exactly ideal when we arrived at 12 noon The water didn’t come back on at all that evening so when we did eventually get our room we couldn’t get a shower and couldn’t flush the toilet either. OUR ROOM… Although we hadn’t paid for an upgrade we were allocated superior sea view room and it was clean and tidy. There wasn’t much storage for clothes so not suitable for a longer holiday unless you don’t mind living out of your suitcase. No plug socket at the dressing table area which would have been handy for doing hair/makeup etc. No extra blanket for an evening either which I was extremely disappointed with as I was fairly cold at night and it disrupted my sleep. We couldn’t really sit out on our balcony either as when we did we got attacked by birds as the hotel must have just recently removed their nest which was on our terrace and the birds where trying rebuild it leaving a mess also. Our shower looked like an all singing and dancing spa luxury type with various jets but in fact none of which worked, apart from the removable standard shower hose which I found difficult to use with the continual fluctuation of temperature. I found that the rooms weren’t really cleaned daily, cleaners just came in to straighten the bed which looked liked a my 7 year old daughter would have done. I usually leave my towels on the floor by the shower and expect them to be exchanged when the cleaner came but not once did that happen. HOTEL AND SURROUNDINGS… When we arrived our first impressions were extremely pleasant, the hotel exterior looked impressive and the reception area looked nice. We were greeted by a long dark haired lady at reception which unfortunately we didn’t manage to get her name but she spoke very good English with a twang which didn’t sound Greek. She went out of her way to sort a room for one couple in our party which we could all drop our bags off at and be able to change into weather appropriate clothes until our rooms were available. We had to pay €7 per night per room hotel tax. The hotel and its exterior are very pretty to look at and the view is amazing looking out at the bay by the pool. But when you start to look under the surface you realise that although at face value it is appealing a lot of what you would expect from an all inclusive accommodation is missing. The floors around the pool were dirty and dusty, there were spilled drinks from days previous. Beer glasses and paper cups weren’t collected and were left by sunbeds until the following day which guests were having to clear up. Paper cups were floating about in the pool and we noticed that the pool was cleaned only once during our stay. The bar ar

Avoid at all costs. This hotel is disgusting. First off you are only allowed certain alcoholic drinks on all inclusive. Secondly they have been pulling bricks up without any warning and I have tripped and bruised all of my arm badly, another incident with the pool toilet full of sewage water, the man cover removed with no sign and they would not close the toilet down or fix the problem as we told them to the day before. 2 people have since had accidents, one has fallen and split his head open and another lady fell down the man hole cover resulting in tissue damage to her legs and her arm. Ambulance was called to the hotel to which the manager became hostile and told us in the exact words “all inclusive either out or 5 drinks per day maximum” he was awful to everyone there and claimed the ambulance cost the hotel 500 euros rather than have any empathy towards anybody who has had an accident at this hotel. It was horrible and quite scary. Since this I have complained to love holidays to which they have replied blaming me of being the man who fell in the toilets and emailed love holidays full of lies. I went to reception for a complaints form and they refused to give me one. We came here on our honeymoon and it has been nothing but trouble and a bad time. The food is completely inedible and there are plug sockets in our room removed which show bare wires. The manager approached us on our last night again being hostile regarding peoples drinks (again I do not drink) and gave me wrong for putting in a complaint through love holidays telling us 25 euros a day isn’t enough for more than 3 drinks and has now cut our drinks to 3 a day because I have complained. This hotel is disgusting not only in health safety and hygiene but also the way the manager speaks to people especially women intimidating and wasn’t interested why anybody put a complaint in in the first place. The best part about this hotel is the friendly bar staff. Both George’s were fantastic and very welcoming also angel who works in the restaurant is lovely. despite the managers behaviour. Not suitable for children and is not a “water park” 2 small slides that’s it. To top it off we are home now crippled with food poisoning from the hotel food like everyone else that had it on the last day.

Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at the Almyrida village. We paid extra for a sea view room and it was definitely worth it with a beautiful view. We went all inclusive which was definitely worth it lots of drinks on offer and the food was always adequate. We ate out once in the town and had the most beautiful meal at Elia. We hired a car through the hotel for 2 days which was very reasonable and paid just €60 for the 2 days. We drove to chania and Rethymnon which was definitely worth a visit. The only downside was the evenings. It was very quiet and we often took a drink up to our room quite early on but it was relaxing. Pool area is lovely plenty of sun lounger and by far what made this holiday the best was the staff George, Angel and Thomas thank You for looking after us so well for our whole stay.

Just got back from my stay at Almyrida Village and Waterpark! It was a lovely experience overall, but I wanted to share some thoughts to help others considering this resort. While the setting is beautiful, it might not be the best fit for those with mobility challenges. There are quite a few steps and steep ramps around the resort, so it's something to keep in mind. Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy the swimming pool as much as I'd hoped because it lacked handlebars near the steps, which made exiting a bit tricky, the water was considerably cold. Also, despite being advertised as a 4-star resort, it felt more like a 3-star in terms of amenities and maintenance. The rooms were a bit dated, and my friend even had some issues ie no hot water and lights in their bathroom, but they decided to grin and bear it rather than make a fuss. We opted not to go for the all-inclusive package, and I'm glad we didn't. The food options were limited, and what was supposed to be hot often ended up lukewarm at best. One day, we even decided to have lunch at the hotel, and found it overpriced for what it was. However, the staff truly shone throughout our stay. They were incredibly friendly and always eager to assist. There was no evening entertainment, or activities ie aqua aerobics etc. during the day. It’s a quiet resort which suited me but if you are looking for clubbing then this is not the place or the town. The town and beach are just a short walk away, offering plenty of dining options and a couple of supermarkets. The walk back to the resort does have a bit of a hill, but nothing too strenuous. Despite its flaws, we still managed to have a great time, thanks in part to the friendly a**osphere and the wonderful people we met during our stay.

The hotel is up a hill so wouldn’t recommend with someone with mobility issues. We paid extra for a sea view which was definitely worth it, balcony overlooked the pool, sea and mountains to the right - beautiful. Hotel breakfast is average. Could do with fresh orange not out of a machine. Some lovely restaurants around 10 minute walk over looking the sea which were amazing. Pool is nice, lots of sun loungers. Cold but after a swim you warm up ok. Wouldn’t say it’s a water park with 2 tiny kids slides and 1 small slide. Was nice to relax around. Take a bus into Chania for a trip out which is well worth it. The hotel had no entertainment or life on an evening which doesn’t bother us as we go out for a meal but for those on AI / full board seemed quite boring on an evening with no music/ life. A good hotel for a base to relax and eat out at the variety of restaurants.

I would like to explain how I am not the kind of person who complains about things, I try to see the good in everything and excuse the bad but I just cannot with this hotel. First off we were charged for 4 nights £28 for our room tax, in no way shape or form is this hotel a 4 star hotel. At best it’s low 3. Online almost everywhere but love holidays it’s a 3* so no idea where love holidays got the 4* from. And I think it’s a huge cheek to be charging customers the 4* rate at check it. I wouldn’t be surprised if they pocket the extra to be honest. We paid for the all inclusive package which I suggest you don’t bother with. Right from the get go we felt like second class citizens. They already had our money so anything we wanted was an inconvenience. The inclusive package is shoddy at best. A 2 hour window for each of the 3 meals with a 4.5 hour gap between lunch and dinner where no food was available at all. Very unclear about what was actually included and what wasn’t. We were given a sheet at check in that stated snacks were available upto 2.30 at the bar. The first day we were told they had none. We asked for beer and were given them and they tried to charge us, apparently they’d given us the premium lager which wasn’t included in the package, we had our bands on and visible surely you’d check the customer understood which drinks were payable, which as it turns out is most, the fridges and freezers are full of lovely drinks and ice creams which are again all payable. A coffee machine sits at the bar, which again is payable, when we order a coffee we are given an instant luke warm one. The bartenders disappear for ages at a time, transpires that not only is the one barman paid to pull pints, he’s also expected to go prep dinner and other duties, leaving us all waiting around for a refill. While the site looks clean on the surface it is not, not once did we see anyone clean up the pool area, our empty glasses from the night before would still be beside the loungers the following day. Cups, huge bugs and leaves etc all over the pool which was grim. The bar closes at 10 o’clock on a night and lights are promptly switched off which makes for difficulty in navigating your way back to the room without injury. The food is appalling. Lunch consists of maybe two choices and dinner maybe six. No labelling of food so no idea what is what. The water machine in the restaurant was empty and the apple juice from the machine was just water. In the four days there I ate one breakfast and had one look at tea and just couldn’t bring myself to eat any of it. As a party of 6 four of us came down with a sickness and diarrhoea bug unfortunately for me mine came on the night we were leaving so you can imagine how uncomfortable my journey home was. During our stay both the water and electric went off at one point. We ate out for every other meal which obviously added cost we hadn’t expected, luckily there’s some lovely eateries 5 minutes away which are all reasonably pr

Avoid at all costs On arrival and check in we were given our green all inclusive wristbands and told we would have to pay for drinks after showing our booking it was agreed drinks were included. We were taken to outside our room and given the key on opening the door I can understand why, very very dated and falling apart. The main ceiling light was dirty and hanging off, one bedside lamp had no shade and was hanging down and the bathroom had a tile that had clearly been broken and the pieces had been stuck back together. We hadn’t expected it to be modern or perfect as we hadn’t payed a lot but we certainly had expected better than this. The room was perfectly clean and we had a beautiful view. We decided to make the best of it so unpacked and went to look for the bar to have a drink before dinner. The only bar is next to the pool and didn’t look that clean. We went into dinner there was a salad selection which all looked ok the hot food looked terrible you couldn’t tell whether it was chicken or fish or what meat it was., there was some dried up pasta to one end with 3 different sauces again no idea what they were and no labels on anything. We both had bread, feta and olives as we felt this was probably safe to eat. Breakfast was the same salad with a few cold meats and cereal the hot breakfast looked terrible no bacon just a processed ham that had been fried. So bread, feta and olives for us again. We spent the day at the pool in the wonderful sun and the loungers were quite comfortable although some were broken and had been welded back together. We couldn’t face more bread and feta so ate out for every meal after the first day. We had a puddle of water appear while we were out on the third day and had no idea where it was from as it was in the hallway next to the wall when we went down to reception we were told “ it’s not our problem “ my partner made them come to our room as we had no idea what it was and clean it up. The bar area is dirty and we noticed the glasses were just rinsed in the sink not in a dishwasher so we had paper cups. The only staff that were friendly were the 2 guy’s at the bar both called George. Marco the manager was rude telling us “ move “ on one occasion when we were sitting having a drink. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel I wouldn’t even give it 2 stars. If you have booked to stay I would cancel or change it. I have included pictures in my review as evidence.

Do not stay here unless you want to be bed bound for most of your holiday Me and a group of friends visited the hotel this week and we couldn't wait to get home. Out of the 6 of us 4 of us had severe sickness and diarrhea. If you ever do stay here don't go all inclusive as there was nothing all inclusive about it. We had our bands on and we're asked to pay for our drinks after we got them. The food is just shocking! The only decent thing about this place is the view you have from the pool Avoid at all costs!!
