After reading other reviews, they were all overwhelmingly positive.
Having stayed in numerous hotels, the ANA InterContinental Beppu definitely ranks in my top three.
First, let's talk about transportation:
Beppu Station is quite small. Remember to exit from the West Exit (this was told to us by the hotel shuttle driver; apparently, many international guests wait for a long time at the East Exit only to find out it's the West Exit). The hotel is about a twenty-minute drive away.
Next, the service:
What was really surprising is that more than half of the hotel staff are non-Japanese. Every single foreign staff member spoke excellent Japanese, with perfect mastery of honorifics.
Finally, the room facilities:
The onsen (hot spring bath) is small but beautiful. The infinity pool isn't very deep, making it suitable for children. It was still a bit chilly in March, but luckily, there's a warm pool nearby where you can soak for a while.
The restaurant offers great value for money. Children aged 6-12 get half price, which is around 2,700 yen. In the evening, there's an all-you-can-drink option for adults at 5,000 yen, including sparkling wine, house wine, shochu, and beer.

Guest UserAn excellent experience! The beautiful environment offers stunning sunset and stargazing views, making it perfect for large families. Although it's a bit far out, the resort facilities provide everything you need, and there's enough to do on-site to keep you occupied all day. The included breakfast and dinner were plentiful, and the location is conveniently close to Kyushu Zoo and Yufuin, so you can easily add them to your itinerary.

Guest UserMy husband and I stayed 3 nights here in late May 2026. And wow - this place is super impressive! This was by far the best hotel / resort we’ve stayed at during our Japan trip (nearly 3 months of traveling central and southern Japan). The rooms are spacious, extremely clean, luxurious. You have your own private indoor onsen, outdoor onsen, cold plunge tub, sauna and if in the summer, your own private pool. You have a full size kitchen, full western style living room with a TV, full Japanese style living room, multiple toilets and a beautiful bathroom. And a beautiful view overlooking Beppu below! The food is absolutely delicious. The staff and their service are professional, knowledgeable and very welcoming. It’s close to the 7 hells of Beppu attractions so it makes for an easy day trip too. And if you’re looking for a public onsen experience, its sister property is a 5 minute walk from this resort. It’s a newer establishment without many reviews yet, but take my word for it, you won’t be disappointed. We truly loved our stay here and we will definitely be back.

Very satisfied with our stay. Room is abit small as the room was constructed out of a container but they still managed to pack everything nicely into the room. Location may not be ideal for travellers relying on public transport but no issue if you’re driving as there are parking lots available for hotel guests in front of the hotel. Love the amenities provided (full range of Pola products and Refa hair dryer!) They even provide a Balmuda kettle. As hotel is located within a park, there is no security fencing. There is a main gate where hotel guests need to scan their card to enter hotel premise but public can easily walk over the slightly raised flower bed to enter the hotel premise even without the need to enter via the main gate. Such setup is only possible in Japan where security is not a major issue and known for being a safe country but we’ll be concerned if this is in another country. There is also no shelter from hotel rooms to the parking area so managing luggage during rainy days will be challenging. But overall we love our stay at this hotel.

Judith AldI stayed at the female room which is very wide and it was quite so I could sleep very good. Even though it’s a capsule hotel the beds are also wide and very comfortable. The price andlocation is very convenient , the hotel is on the Beppu tower and it’s 15minutes walking from the Beppu Station. They can offer to keep your luggage for free. I would stay at this place again 👍

Guest UserUntil the day of check in, I never receive any check in procedure and I had to call customer service and wait for the line transferring. They did not limit the parking for every unit and I had no parking available but I saw one of the unit had parked 4 cars there. I called for help on no hot spa water coming out but they answered they could not do anything for me. Overall experience was good

We stayed here as a couple and loved every moment. The room was clean, beautifully designed, and felt relaxing as soon as we walked in. After enjoying the private onsen bath made of wood and stone, we watched a movie on the projector while lying on the tatami, which felt so cozy and special.
The amenities were carefully selected and felt high-quality, adding to the relaxing stay. You can tell the host cares about every detail. If you want authentic Japanese experience with your partner, this place is a perfect choice.

I was worried because there weren't many Korean reviews recently. This was my first trip to Japan, and I really wanted to go to Beppu, but I was worried about where to stay. I booked this accommodation after looking at the photos of the interior without even looking at the location, but when I made the reservation, it turned out that it was located a bit far away from the downtown area! However, since the purpose of going to Beppu was the hot springs, I felt it was a great advantage to be able to use the hot springs within walking distance from my accommodation.
The accommodation is really clean and cozy, but also spacious and comfortable! The bed was so soft that I slept well until morning without waking up even once! Also, they say it is difficult because the accommodation is on a hill, but since the trip is a series of walks anyway, I was able to experience the Japanese countryside and it was really nice! ♥ And thanks to the host who kindly guided me, I felt really good!
If I go on a trip to Fukuoka, I will definitely go to Beppu again, and I intend to visit this accommodation again! Thank you so much for giving me happy memories :-)

In some places, like behind the television and in certain corners, more cleaning is needed.

Anonymous UserSuper nice hotel with onsen!
I have a short stay (unfortunately) at this hotel.
It was a short walk from Beppu Station, and nearby attractions also restaurant!
I am having so much fun strolling around the hotel!
Beppu tower is located like 5 minutes walk, the Donki store and my favourite restaurant Gusto also SUPER NEAR from the hotel!
I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND AND WILL AGAIN STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
