Monument Hotel

Barcelona City Centre Barcelona|1.02km from Creperie Les 3 Pommes
We were very pleased with the central location, modern amenities and gracious staff at The Monument Hotel. Situated within an easy walk to some of Gaudi’s most impressive buildings, fine shopping and dining with its own Michelin restaurant on premises, there wasn’t much to be desired in this boutique hotel, save for some minor details. In our case, although we arrived on an early flight and we’re aware check in was not until 3 as we’d been informed when I placed my reservation noting our arrival time - and the concierge agreeably stored our luggage as we took in local sights - we were notified while having lunch a room with a better view would not be available until 5 pm. We decided to wait for that option and made use of the rooftop pool lounges for a late afternoon siesta. Shortly after 5, I went to reception and was informed the room was ready. While adequate in terms of space - with a small sitting area adjacent to the sleeping area - I can’t say there was a view per se as it basically looked over rooftops, perhaps what could be devastating a small courtyard. The bat was actually quite large in comparison but for some reason of design I don’t understand there was a step to the commode area - causing some stumbles during the middle of the night until we were properly acclimated. As I like to tune into the news in the morning while dressing, I mentioned the TV remote in the bed area was not working, however, this was not addressed during our stay. Relatively minor issues all in all in an otherwise comfortable and safe 3 day stay.

I am not quite clear what some people had issues with. The hotel is perfectly situated within the city centre, the staff are fine and friendly, and the breakfast was certainly adequate -- eggs, bacon, coffee. The view from my window wasn't the best -- it was the inner bit of airducts, but I was thankful that the window opened. Plus, the hotel some how connects to a building of flats, so it's always nice to hear locals doing stuff. I was able to leave my luggage behind on my last day and the staff not only sent me directions to the hotel from the airport, they were very helpful in finding my way to a close bus stop for the Aerobus (I am very sorry I didn't get her name, but she was on the desk at about 5pm on 3 March 2023 when I asked). Luis checked me in and told me where I could find an open grocery store open after 11:00pm (tip: don't get the lactose-free cheese -- you will not be able to get it away from the paper sheets meant to separate the slices). The Wifi allowed me to work for most of the morning before my afternoon meetings, which was great. There are clear signs that visitors cannot go up into the rooms, but my guess is that that is the result of some issues, so be respectful of their rules. The room was cleaned perfectly when I got back after my first day. I would recommend the hotel for whatever reason you are traveling to Barcelona!

This hotel in Barcelona is the most satisfying one. The location is excellent. It is more than 10 minutes walk from the shopping street, Casa Batllo and Casa Mila. It is 11 euros for a taxi to the Sagrada Familia and 15 euros for a taxi to the stadium. The hotel is clean, the facilities are new, the front desk is very friendly, patiently bought tickets for us, helped us book a car, and gave us directions. The breakfast waiter was also very friendly. In a word, the trip was worth it. Ctrip's customer service staff never Never let me down! like! like! like!

The hotel is located in the centre of Barcelona , and the Ramblas is 10 minutes ' walk from the hotel . Personnel très agréable , carte individuelle pour chaque personne de la chambre permettant d'accéder aux étages par l'ascenseur et pour ouvrir porte de chaque pallier ainsi que porte de la chambre et d'un grand tiroir sous le lit. In terms of comfort it is very light , there is the strict minimum. However, bathroom and shower really too narrow , automatic light that starts when you go to the toilet . For 2 nights it went but I don't advise the hostel

The value to dollar is just way too high for business travellers like me. There is a world no. 1 cocktail bar SIPS right at the corner of the street. Lots of food nearby as well.

Calling it a swimming pool is a lie, feel ripped off. When you select a hotel with a swimming pool, the prices went up by £300-400 for our stay, so a hefty increase, but they didn't have one. It was 1 foot deep, that's not a pool, if you can't swim in it then it's a glorified puddle. Breakfast was vile, only edible part was the croissants, which seems pricey for £9 per day. Bed was relatively cosy, but on wheels and made so much noise any time either of us moved in the slightest. There was a buzzing sound that went off from the fan every 5 seconds, not too bad during the day, but when you're trying to sleep then it was a nightmare. The staff were friendly at reception, the bright spark that kept us from going elsewhere as we were really tempted. Wouldn't book again.

We felt very welcomed at the reception. The best points go to Luca (I think so was the man's name). We had a triple room, and there was enough space. Better would be if there was a coat rack next to the door. The room wasn't so clean, dust on the floor. Bath was excellent after long days. The choice at breakfast buffet was really positively surprising (there was bacon and egg porridge, ham, cheese + a big variety of pastries). Service at breakfast was always excellent. The location of the hotel is great to reach after a short walk distance to many places. And of course metro is close. Definitely would suggest that hotel.
