Terry in the office was wonderful and helpful. The unit was on the lower floor, a walk-out basement unit. Nice sized with comfortable sofa, chairs, beds. Nice view from the large outdoor patio. Spotless. Downsides: Everything was VERY DATED--furnishings, all appliances, kitchenware, decoration, carpeting. You name it, it was old. Plus, the formica countertop near the stove had burns on it, and the refrigerator had a lot of rust on one side. Not aesthetically pleasing, but it all worked. The unit stank of mildew. All our clothes ended up smelling of mildew. The water was horribly RUSTY. We had to buy bottled water for drinking and cooking. When we arrived, the toilet water was bright blue from some product. Once that blue was flushed away, the brown rusty water was very evident. Pets are allowed in the units, so the unit next to us had 3 large dogs. Not sure if it was those dogs who carried the fleas or other pets who stayed in the unit before us, but we ended up getting over 20 flea bites along with the few mosquitoes. The resort can't control the mosquito bites and those itched for only a brief time, but the flea bites are a different story. It's been a week and my strong reaction to the flea bites is still continuing in spite of medication. We loved the area, Lake Laura, and the view from the unit, but it fell far short of the standard of all the many other RCI units we've stayed in.
