The Nanee

It is a boutique hotel in the heart of Bhaktapur, next to Durbar Square. The staff were always very helpful, special mention goes to the ladies in the restaurant who were always nice and very attentive. When our young daughter had a stomach flu, they kindly provided special food for her. The restaurant serves delicious food. One of the rooms was a bit small, but had everything we needed and was nicely decorated.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Nanee, and the experience was truly excellent. The hotel is genuinely charming, beautifully maintained, spotless, and very welcoming. You immediately feel the care and attention to detail in every corner. The staff is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and attentive; they make you feel not just like a guest, but truly cared for. The breakfast is delicious, with great variety and quality, and the restaurant in general is excellent. The dishes are well prepared, flavorful, and served in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The location is also perfect for getting around the city easily, making it very convenient to explore. Last but not least, the morning tour offered by the hotel to discover local rituals and traditions is something truly unforgettable. It’s an authentic and enriching experience that allows you to connect deeply with the local culture. To make everything even more special, there is also a lovely farewell gift, a small but meaningful gesture that leaves a lasting impression. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit this beautiful and charming city.

My stay at The Nanee has been one of the most memorable experiences of my time in Nepal. More than a beautiful place to stay, The Nanee feels like a living bridge to the rich cultural heritage of Bhaktapur. Every detail—from the architecture and craftsmanship to the food, traditions, and warm hospitality—reflects a deep commitment to preserving and celebrating Newari culture. Over the past few days, I had the opportunity to experience not only the comfort of the space but also the heart behind it. Through conversations, local traditions, devotional music, pottery, and cultural celebrations, I felt genuinely welcomed into the spirit of the community. A special thank you to the entire staff for their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care. Every interaction was filled with warmth, making me feel less like a guest and more like part of the family. The Nanee is doing something truly meaningful—creating a place where conscious travelers can connect with the living traditions of Bhaktapur while supporting the preservation of local culture and craftsmanship. The property looks like just opened. Fresh, well maintained - a hallmark for hospitality establishments. The six course dinner experience and breakfast was surreal. Nanee has been able to create a niche. In days of technology it is the people that make the difference. Wonderful staff and folks who took us out on city walk. Highly recommended as a weekend getaway destination to discover one's own country.

I had stayed here before and when the chance arose to stay gain, I jumped at it. This is one of the nicest places anyone could stay at, anywhere in the world. The joy of staying here begins with the wonderful welcome as oon as one steps inside - the staff are so friendly, and their enthusism and determination that you have a fabulus time whilst at the hotel, doesn't let up for a moment. It is a place of peace and quiet among the bustle of the Kathmandu Valley whislt being perfect for visiting Baktapur.

Our stay at The Nanee was truly one of the most memorable travel experiences we’ve ever had. Bhaktapur is a city filled with mysticism, spirituality, and timeless beauty, and The Nanee captures that spirit perfectly. Thanks to the hotel, we were able to experience the city in a very authentic and emotional way: walking through the quiet streets early in the morning as prayers and rituals began, and again at sunset, when the golden light brings a special calmness to the entire city. What made everything even more special was how the hotel team curated incredible local experiences for us. From visiting the flower and vegetable markets at sunrise, to sharing dinner with a local family, to discovering hidden temples guided by a Hindu priest. Every moment felt genuine, intimate, and unforgettable. A very special thank you to the Manager, whose recommendations and advice made a huge difference in our trip. He truly understands the soul of Bhaktapur and guided us toward experiences we would never have discovered on our own. His passion, kindness, and attention to detail elevated our stay far beyond what we expected. The food was excellent, the MASALA TEA perfect, the room was beautiful and comfortable, and every member of the staff welcomed us with warmth and genuine smiles every single day. You can feel that the people here truly care about creating meaningful experiences for their guests. The Nanee is not just a hotel, it is a gateway into the heart and spirit of Bhaktapur. An experience we will always remember, and absolutely hope to relive again one day.
