Ridgeway Inn - Blowing Rock

My kids and I stayed for two nights. The beds are comfortable and the location is great. Highly recommend.

Motel was in nice area of beautiful little town. Beds were comfortable. Heating in hotel lobby area was broken, so we could not gather in communal living area with our friends who also stayed at the motel. Apparently, plug in heaters were available but manager would not allow them due to safety fire hazard concerns.

Super chatming site. Good beds. I particularly appreciated the staff who was nice helpful.

STAY AWAY. I had booked a room for one night. I walked in, smelled the mildew, heard the wind blowing through the doorway, and decided that this was no way to vacation. This property is nothing what the pictures show.

The location was the primary reason we chose this property. We easily walked to dining and shops. We feld the price was a good value and liked that this "hotel" was fully refundable and no deposit was required for reservation. The beds were comfortable and we had a nice stay overall. The negative for our experience, when we checked in, one of our rooms smelled like a musty basement. Originally we were offered some disinfecant wipes to cover the smell. After talking to front desk about my concerns with mold, we were offered a downgraded room, which turned out fine. It wasn't as nice but at least it wasn't musty. The other thing I thought was odd was that the lobby would only be open between 8a-8p and only if there was a staff person to work it. This was during a really busy weekend. We were also told that there was no housekeeping over the weekend but if we needed something to let them know a day ahead or call the emergency number. We probably would not stay at any of the Village Inns again if we visited Blowing Rock again.

No hairdryers in the bathroom. Room was hot. We turned on the air. Staff was friendly, but only saw anyone during check in and check out.

Excellent value for the price. Very walkable to everything downtown. The staff was very pleasant to deal with. Hotel is older but has been maintained.

Location right in the middle of the small downtown area. Older property in need of updating, especially the bed. Price was within the local range but high by my standards. May be as seasonal thing.

Room 110 was harm upon entry. First impression was that it was clean and neat. Very cozy.
