Anonymous UserFantastic location, easily walkable to the main attractions and Syntagma Square for airport buses. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, and the breakfast was generous. We truly enjoyed our stay at Plaka Hotel.

Very good location, metro station is few minutes away and it is on Airport Blue line route. Shopping and Acropolis are around, central to everything. A rooftop bar with acropolis view and a lower ground storage are a bonus. Though the lift is too small can only accommodate 2 or three people, the breakfast is included.

Guest UserI went on a trip with my kids, and the location is fantastic. The room with the Acropolis window all the time is excellent. I had a great experience in breakfast because I could see a beautiful view of the Acropolis. I woke up so late one day that I almost missed the tour bus, but I was really glad that the staff at the front of the hotel took care of it and showed me how to get on the bus. I would like to thank her very much, and I would like to compliment and publicize the kindness of the staff. This hotel was the flower of my trip to Athens.

This place is quite unusual. My room was upgraded so that I had a suite over two floors, with a small private pool on another lower level. Absolutely every convenience had been considered, some extras might verge on overkill (bog roll tied up with a ribbon for example).
The room looked amazing on first inspection, but I quite quickly realised the smell of the pool was so strong it stung my eyes, and the sound of the ventilation unit was quite a roar. There was only one small openable window on the mezzanine level next to the bed and I had to sleep with that open as wide as possible.
Bed was extremely comfortable, I had to turn off the pool ventilator unit in the middle of the night because it kept waking me up, but once I had done that and the smell of baking bread entered the room from a bakery down the road I slept like a log.
Staff were really nice and friendly, but they are working with quite difficult circumstances and perhaps unnecessarily. The kitchen is on the bottom floor and breakfast is served on the 5th floor roof (from which you can see the Parthenon) breakfast is a little awkward as you get a huge wicker basket 🧺 full of food plus crepes, plus omelette, plus tuna sandwich, a whole baguette (some more little ribbons), and I am not sure anyone can eat as much as is provided, and the server had to keep travelling up and down in the one person elevator. Probably would be better to ask guests what they would like to have for breakfast out of the options available and have a coffee/tea station upstairs. There is the option to take lunch in your room - for which the picnic basket concept makes a lot more sense.
Seems like there should be a way to make the place feel more efficient and common sensible. I did get the feeling that they might have only just opened and are finding their feet, so I hope this review will be useful - certainly was a generous accommodation and staff are working very hard to make sure guests have the best possible experience.

Stayed in February 2026. Great location for sightseeing in the Acropolis.
I read the word of mouth and knew that the facilities were old, so it was within the acceptable range at all. After all, the cost performance was good.
It was good that slippers were prepared.
There are restaurants and supermarkets nearby, so I didn't have any trouble during my stay.
I didn't go to the rooftop bar, but the view looked good.

Thv_teteFirst of all, the hotel staff are so nice incl. receptionists, breakfast lady, room attendants, etc. They all smile at you and greet you, very polite and helpful. We also booked 1 triple room for 3 adults but they gave us 2 double rooms with the same price of course although they had to move us to ground floor the 2nd day due to some electrical defaults in one of the rooms as it was newly renovated, which didnt bother us at all. We happily moved. Also free water bottles in the fridge included, all the necessary amenities were there, no kettle to boil water or cups for hot drinks were provided in the room but if you ask them, hot water provided at the hotel reception 24/7 also free tea, coffee and hot water for all guests provided from 3-9pm! Rooms were decent sized with comfy and clean beds, daily room service, breakfast was good and plenty and included in the room price, so cant complain! More hot food options would have been nice but it was continental which still was adequate. 5/5 stars

One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Everything is excellent, from the location, the facilities, the rooms, the staff, to the breakfast, and above all, the highest level of service I've ever encountered. Highly recommended and I will undoubtedly return here on my next visit to Athens.

The hotel reception is spacious by Europe standards. Checkin was seamless however we had to pay for taxes at the time of checkin. Took a little while to work out the lift as the doors don’t open automatically. You had to manually open the front door to get into a reasonable small lift that catered for 2 people and 2 luggage. It reminded me of an old school type lifts seen in movies. Rather cool.
Rooms looked newly renovated and modern. Pod Coffee machine with illy pods, desk, a single chair and a wall hung tv. With this said, we had a room facing the road and whether the windows didn’t close properly or the windows were very thin with no sound proofing, but the noise from the road was bad. We were on the 5th floor and every car that went by, we heard. The heavier vehicles were worse. Does not work especially if you are a light sleeper.
Breakfast was average with comparison to many other hotels around the world however I would say quite sufficient by European standards. Precooked eggs, scrambled, boiled and sunny side up, basic cereal and fruit selection and bakery was a bit dry. Omelette made on order.
Staff in restaurant were excellent and extremely helpful.
Location was excellent for this hotel as it was walking distance from buses and train, restaurants and some markets.
Communications with its reservations team was shocking. Even after 6 emails with regard to a future booking, I did not get a single reply. Eventually met the hotel manager and had the issue resolved so a big thanks to Ms. Maria.
Overall, comfortable apart from the road noise. Would I book again, will not be my default hotel so I may be looking at other hotels but would not rule it out completely.

I traveled to Athens for a business reason. The room was in the center, spacious near shops for coffee and food. It provides paid parking right next to it, so you don't have to look for a place. The service is amazing and the staff is very kind!! I would definitely choose it again!!!
