Sundance Guest Ranch

Always feels like coming home, and my heart is full. Hard to leave, but easy to think about planning that "next visit back". Fantastic riding, horses to fall in love with and such a great place to unplug and immerse in the outdoors and simpler life. Highly recommend.

I went with a friend who was scared of horses and the horses and wranglers at the ranch had changed her mind about horseback riding. They made her feel safe and well taken care of. On the other hand, I went on great rides full of twists and turns in various speeds, which allowed me and the horse to appreciate the magic of the land. The returning chef from 2019, Dustin, has been a great addition to the entire experience by elevating the dining experience at the ranch. My friend is gluten free and vegetarian and she was impressed with the variety and taste and the high protein content of her meals. This is my 8th year at the ranch and I continue to make new friends who make plans to come back at the same time to meet with me the following year. This is a wonderful place where I am taught to be present and open. I love it and you'll love it too.

There is no place like home! I went by myself last year for my 65th and loved it. I brought my 32 yo daughter this year and was not disappointed. She already has a reservation for the fall with her BFF. We met wonderful and friendly people. The wranglers and horse matching to our requests were spot on AND they take REALLY good care of their horses! The rooms are always clean and while not grand by any stretch, all you really need. The food was great and accommodated us both having Celiac with no issues. Come with an open mind and you won’t be disappointed. I’m already trying to figure out a second visit this fall. We came mid week and on the shoulder season which is more to my liking with regard to the vibe being lower key. This is a family run operation and they are kind and thoughtful. We need more down to earth places like this in our lives.

The ranch is in a gorgeous location just outside of Ashcroft, BC. The area around the ranch is irrigated and therefore lush and green, whilst the surrounding hills are covered with native sagebrush. The all inclusive price includes two horse back rides per day, with trails going up towards stunning lookouts over the Thompson River valley. Three great meals per day are served in the dining room, with tables outside for good weather. Although our experience was first rate, I found the rooms to be somewhat tired and in need of some upgrades, but since the idea is to be outside all day long, this was not too much of an issue. The horses are very well looked after and they can match riders or all skill levels to a suitable horse. The wranglers (mostly young women from various countries) were very knowledgeable. We rode 7 times and did not go on the same trails twice. A stay here for horse lovers is highly recommended.

This was my 5th year at the ranch, and it never disappoints, I plan to keep coming back until I'm 70! The horses are so good at their jobs, as are the wranglers who clearly adore each and every one of them, even the naughty ones.. they do a great job of trying to pair horse and rider, and are mindful of everyone's level of horsemanship. The food was awesome again this year, and they cater to all diets. Spring visits are my favorite, with the many birds, critters and calves dotted throughout the landscape, as well as the wild flowers and sagebrush, which permeates everywhere. I highly recommend this little piece of heaven to all ages and levels of riders.

This ranch is rustic and relaxed, with the best home-cooked meals, and the friendliest wranglers and visitors! Eat, ride, relax, sleep, repeat! It seems no one comes just once - apart from me and my girls on our first visit - but we'll be back next year for sure.

We've been coming up for about ten years and many of the little things (like details in the rooms) keep getting better -- but the important things remain the same, thank goodness: amazing horses (and wranglers who knock themselves out to find you the perfect match!), great atmosphere, great food, stunning rides in glorious scenery, and great warmth and caring staff.

What an experience. 116 horses - unbelievable. Great wranglers that paid attention to every member of your group. Special care was taken to match your riding level to the correct horse. I am a new rider and they made sure to answer all my questions and to make me feel comfortable along the ride. The serving staff was very attentive. The meals were good and they catered to individual food preferences. The ranch is older and does need a little TLC but the staff, horses, and vistas are what make Sundance so enjoyable. PS Beds were comfy - very important after a day on horseback.

Sundance is my "go to" guest ranch. whether with family or friends (new or old), it's the best. The horses are #1, lots of great trails, end of Sept is the most beautiful time, of course, the spring & summer aint so bad either..hee hee...staff are great, ..the food is buffet style, so you can eat as much or as little as u like. the beds are super cozy, I love sitting in front of the fire, in the loungs, after a great ride. hear the stories of the other riders, this is a place where memories are created year after year..
