Not a 24-hour front desk, more than 6:00 in the evening, it is closed, there is a self-service machine at the door, but entering your own booking information does not work, you must call the phone posted on their wall (English), report your name , generally the name, not the last name. After they check the order, they will instruct you to enter a string of 6 digits on the kiosk to get your door card and elevator access card from the kiosk. Then, brush the elevator access card into the building door, enter the elevator, find Just brush your own room and get in. Let me talk about his house type. I have an apartment style, a bedroom, it should not be a 1.8 bed. Our 2 adults brought a 12-year-old child to sleep on the bed, their feet are outside the bed, and the living room is two. People sofa, because the reservation said that no extra bed, so it is so okay. The room facilities are very old, the shower door on the bathtub has been replaced, only one frame is left, there is no shower curtain, the nozzle is sprayed in a mist, the basic washing is not so happy, it will splash around, and the bath is basically the bathroom. wet. The capsule coffee machine in the room was bad, could not make coffee, and did not clean every day until the day of departure. If it is not because I booked a day trip to the Kuranda Rainforest, I will take a sightseeing train back when I return. This hotel is opposite the train station. I can go upstairs from the train station to the large parking lot, from the commercial building of Coles Supermarket. It’s really tight, but in addition, it’s definitely not chosen because the accommodation is too poor and there is no service at all. The front desk service is Monday to Friday 8:00-17:00 and weekend is 10: 00-15:00. Dear friends, if you can move, it is recommended to choose other hotels. According to my observation, Cairns has very few taxis. It seems that it is impossible to make a reservation, and the bus is not convenient. Basically, it depends on the legs. Breakfast was not eaten at the hotel, it is estimated that it is not awkward, the hotel itself has a parking lot, the visual inspection is quite big, because there is no self-driving in Cairns, so I don't know how to charge, but it should be charged.

This was the first time ever I have had a verbal altercation at a hotel with a staff member at a hotel due to service issues. The front clerk would not allow my bags (one suitcase and a laptop) to be left after check out without paying for lockers, despite a $175 a night room charge and an empty storage area. He said this was common hotel practice. I challenged him & explained most hotels allow bags to be kept for a few hours after checking out – after this the desk man changed his tune and said this was just their hotel’s policy. I felt like I was staying at a backpackers and was very disappointed at the policy, and at the service. The experience I had on check out alone (especially the attitude of the staff member) made this easily the worst experience I have had at a hotel in the last 10 years. It was a shame because the gentleman on check in was lovely and allowed bags to be stored prior to check in, when I arrived on an early flight. The room itself was at the opposite end of the hotel and was a 5 minute walk down a long hall to get to the room. It was also noisy at night time as I was given a room adjacent to the main street (Grafton Street). The positives – the location is excellent (right in the centre of town) and the quality of the rooms and room size is ok. Honestly though, my recommendation is to steer clear of this hotel - there are lots of great hotels in Cairns that are far better for the same price (or less). And I know many locals who feel the same way about this place.

1) It was a nightmare checking-in. I reached the hostel at 6:30pm and realized that there was no reception but to use Goki for checking-in. However, I received a notice from Goki that ”no reservation” after keying in my confirmation number. I got a shock and kept asking for help from strangers within the hostel. By the time I got it solved, it was like 8:30pm and I was starved to death. 2) Though Goki is an easy system but u need to bring your mobile everywhere you go even to the toilet eg shower (what happen if you forget to bring out the phone); there was a time my phone was almost out of battery (1% left) and I have to quickly charge it by borrowing charger from others. 3) There is no window in my room (single) and the air-con temperature is beyond my control 4) The reception area only opens till 2pm daily, after which you have to make call for any housekeeping services. It really pose inconveniences for first timer who wants to know about Cairns in terms of the directions, places of interests etc. 5) The location is excellent but I don't think I will recommend this hostel to my friends in future.

We rented a 3 bed apartment for one week in July. Anna, the property manager, is an absolute gem who couldn't have been more helpful throughout the stay. The apartment was reasonably well equipped though the kitchen could have done with an oven glove, more than one tea towel, cling wrap/foil, dishwashing tablets , toilet paper etc. A BBQ on the large deck would also be good as the communal BBQ is missing. The bedrooms were airy and comfortable. Reasonable amount of road noise but that is due to location. The outside deck had a thin film of dirt ? pollution that left all of our feet black when going out there...not sure how often it is cleaned. Nice but unheated communal pool.

We stayed at Oak Carins for one quick evening before departing for a liveaboard cruise. The check in was quick and our stay was nice and comfortable. The only issue is that we booked the stay through our airline and requested an ocean view room. Unfortunately, the systems didn’t sync and Oak Carins oversold ocean view rooms and we were stuck with a different view. The staff tried to accommodate with a breakfast voucher but we couldn’t accept as we were leaving before their kitchens opened. So we were told that we would be credited back a refund…but there are so many stages/3rd parties, I doubt we will ever see it, but appreciate them trying. Would recommend if you are in Cairns and need a reasonably priced place to stay that is walking distance to the activities in the city.

Good location, and only a short walk from shops, bars, restaurants and the reef cruise terminal. Large rooms with all things you would need for a short stay although the room we stayed in was dated. I believe there is a room modernisation programme on the go. Quite noisy at night, not sure if it was coming from the hotel bar area on floor 3 or from a nearby establishment. Our room was on floor 10 and even with the balcony door closed it still kept us awake. Staff were pleasant and helpful and rooms serviced daily. We booked this hotel in July 2022 with breakfast included. It came as a surprise to us when we took breakfast on the first day that we only had limited choice from the menu. All other items including larger breakfast items, juice and coffee were charged extra. Due to time limitations on the first day we left it till later to complain. Reception explained that there had been a change of management and had discontinued the buffet breakfast in favour of an al a carte one. They phoned the restaurant and authorised full breakfast free of charge for us. As we had paid cash for extras the previous day, this was now lost. We always check booking.com and trip advisor reviews before making reservations. My advice would be to ignore those prior to July 2022 and especially ones that mention breakfast.
