Champagne Castle Hotel

A stunning location with views of Cathkin Peak and the surrounding Berg - our family has long-enjoyed the walks, horse-riding, tennis and other activities - and it is great to see these still well-catered for. Various areas were being renovated and upgraded, which is always good to see in a hotel. A wonderful place to stay.

We have been coming to the hotel since 2017 and return at least once every year. It is stunningly situated, the rooms luxurious and beautifully appointed, the staff wonderful, and the food out of this world. There is a family programme which offered lots of fun for our extended family. The walks in this area are stunning and very easily accessed from the hotel without needing to get into a car. We cannot wait to go again! I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough.

Highly recommended for a peaceful, comfortable stay. Friendly, competent staff, good food, and spotless accommodation give Champagne Castle top marks. Beautiful surroundings make for pleasant ambles. Numerous facilities cater for every taste, from tennis, swimming, darts and pool.

On this stay we chose the Deluxe Mountain View room. Definitely worth the extra money as the view of the mountain is spectacular. We were treated to glorious weather which made the view even more special. Food as always was excellent. Room had a couple of small maintenance issues which were attended to promptly.

The staff are very friendly and the food was amazing. The hotel is in need of some painting in some spots, but sure that will be dealt with in the off season. The bathroom has a quick heating system which is wonderful on a wet cold day. Overall a fun long weekend with family. There was plenty for everyone to do.

Once again, tip top experience at Champagne Castle. Lovely staff, excellent food as usual - albeit one or two items less at the buffet - and enjoying the company of Georges; Gary and the inimitable Barrie Bramley. Love it more every time, and looking forward to the next. Anticipating a big renovation of the rooms, but hoping little else changes.

We had a lovely family holiday and would definitely return. The food was delicious, the room was spacious and the hikes were breathtaking. The staff were so lovely and it was great to that there was a holiday programme for the kids. The only negative was the noisy generator near to the family rooms. Also, the games room and bar could do with an update/revamp to match the beautiful dining room.

Location was GREAT, but the chalet was a big disappointment. The furniture is not just old, it is worn out. The roof leaked - for the 4 nights we were there, we could not watch TV since it rained every night, and the coach and the floors were wet. We had to phone reception to bring us towels to put on the floor not to slip on the wet floors, and on the coach not for it to be drenched in water. Although they gave us a 20% discount - I would rather pay the money and enjoy the atmosphere and the location in a dry and hassle-free environment. It was clear that the roof leak was not something new and unexpected - the water marks on the wall and coach was proof that this was something the resort knew about - it must have been leaking for some time, I assume it is easier and cheaper to apologize and give a discount, than to block the chalet and fix the roof. Very disappointing experience since they could not even move us as it was during the Easter Holidays.

Wonderfull stay . The children enjoyed it very much and the staff is so good in getting the children together in activities throughout the day. The meals is outstanding and overall very good value for money. Rooms are very clean and specious.
