Balneario de Cofrentes

Decided on this hotel as a base for exploring the area. The hotel is generally very old although kept spotlessly clean. The room had great Aircon which was a bonus It is set well away from anywhere so you really need a car to get around. There is a fabulous river trip and the hotel runs a train down to the river avoiding taking the car. The average age of guests has to be 70 and many seem to be there for the thermal spa and treatments . The resort is very focussed on elderly and less fit people. There was a wide range of activities suitable to a senior ace group. There were a couple of children there but I would say that it is definitely not a place for youngsters The outside pool was excellent and with the extremely hot temperatures very welcome I would advise media pensión as apart from a good castle there is virtually nothing in Cofrentes and it's a long way to other villages. We are English but Spanish residents. Our Spanish is not great but we can get by. This is a very Spanish area and resort and we did not come across any other nationalities apart from Spanish which is exactly what we want. Be warned little English is spoken or understood and you can feel a bit isolated. If you like being outdoors, walking and amazing scenery this is a great place to go.

My wife enjoyed ourselves immensely at this hotel / spa the choice of food’s was extremely good at all the sittings - breakfast- lunch - dinner at both lunch and dinner there was wine on the tables , but do remember this hotel / spa caters mainly for the Spanish although both my wife and I speak little to no Spanish we were made to feel welcome . If you enjoy a holiday hotel with spa treatments sent deep in the Spanish countryside then this is a must but do remember it’s not a 5 star resort it’s a very good 3 star hotel and spa , if you are looking for authentic Spanish then this is a must .

Onbehalf of physically disabled,this,place was as good as it gets.The location was great . Thasiteis made up ofplocks of apartments all wheelchairfriendly,and the block H 756 was the best we have had so far ,so spacious the w5hee. Chair was able to easily go round the room into toilet etc.thebeds were comfortable. A small accssable balcony for a quiet sit and read etc outside wonderfull. The staff were superb, the buffet meals were excellent with numerous choices of food. The spar was available with prior booking. A mini golf course close at hand and a proper course nearby. The restaurant was open all day until midnight. Our stay was brilliant. Boat trips are available subject to prior booking. Look on the website to learn how to book events etc.
