On arrival, I was told by the staff on reception that the hotel was not authorised to accept foreign guests. However, as I had already paid and to their immense credit they managed to register me on the system and upgraded me (this was all within 10 minutes)- after checking with the local police. The hotel itself is in a really good location, close to the ancient town, and about a 20 minute walk away from the 3 Pagodas. Cangshan Mountain is also very near (but the weather wasn't suitable for a visit). Erhai Lake cycling and walking path is about a 4-5km walk from the hotel too. Ended up being a pleasant stay, but again thank you to the reception staff for being very helpful when I arrived and dealing with things as efficiently and as promptly as they did.

A family of three went on a Spring Festival trip and did a lot of homework in advance to choose the one two-bedroom courtyard in Dali. I checked in on my husband's birthday, February 16th, and the courtyard I was assigned to was No. 216. What a coincidence! It is quiet in the bustle and convenient to the ancient city and Erhai Lake. The design and decoration of the courtyard are simple and exquisite, with a small living room and courtyard downstairs, a terrace upstairs with a view of the snow-capped mountains, and two bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. It can be used for gatherings and privacy, and is very suitable for family outings! There are also flowers in the room. Loved my 4 night stay here! Great location, walking distance to everything but in a quiet alley so it's peaceful. Owner was really nice, added me on wechat so we could easily communicate there. He helped me arrange a driver for various activities and was always responsive if I needed anything. The room was so nice, the bath was awesome, loved the rooftop terrace. I really have nothing negative to say at all, I highly recommend this inn and will stay again if I return to Dali. My only suggestion would be to put in a mini fridge and full-length mirror in the room :)

It was my first time to visit Dali and I booked two days of accommodation by Erhai Lake. I also wanted to experience accommodation at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, so I saw the Yiyun Hotel with good reviews online and booked a private twin room in Tangquan. The location of the hotel is very good. You can look up at the snowy top of Cangshan Mountain, Erhai Lake and Haidong in the distance. It is just west of Chongsheng Temple, separated by a wall. Because we drove here by car, parking in the hotel is very convenient, with parking spaces both outdoors and underground. The room is large, the bathroom is separated from wet and dry, the room facilities are complete, and there is enough courtyard. The best thing is that there is a private hot spring pool with 24-hour constant temperature circulating water supply. You can soak in it from morning to night. It would be nice if there is a little snow. The hotel service staff are very friendly. If you need anything, just give the housekeeper a call and they will respond quickly. We were provided with red wine, snacks, drinks and tea as courtesy when we arrived at the store, and they also gave us a small New Year gift when we left. The overall experience is very good and very suitable for families vacationing here. The breakfast was very rich and unique.
