We are on our last day of ten at The Metin and after reading some negative reviews felt we should share a balanced view. OK, so if you are after a plush, modern, five star luxury holiday, The Metin is not for you. If you are however like us, where location and value for money are more important, we’d recommend it! The hotel ‘must-haves’ of being clean, having a comfortable bed, good shower, plenty of space, etc are perfectly met and although some furniture may look a little tired, it’s all perfectly functional. All the air conditioning units are new and powerful if needed. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and seem to have an amazing memory for all the guests’ names! Breakfast is the standard Turkish morning fayre, providing a little something for everyone which we enjoyed. Don’t expect a British fry-up! Located centrally, you only have to stumble out of the entrance to be amongst the bars, restaurants and shops and yet the hotel remains quiet and relaxed. All the boat trips are just a five minute stroll away and there are plenty of beautiful riverside restaurants serving a high standard of food to choose from. I’m summary, a good, solid, five out of five from us for both holiday and hotel. We’ll be back!
