Hotel is close enough to Edinburgh's main attractions, you could even get there walking 20-30 minutes from the hotel. Hotel has old facilities and the room has a smell. Also, the toilet wasn't working properly and I had to flush several times to make it work.

Stayed her for three nights October 2022 with the Scotland Rugby League team prior to the Rugby League World Cup. What a great find this hotel was. Spotlessly clean and so very comfortable. Bedrooms roomy and the beds as comfortable as you can get. The food was excellent, and they catered for our every need. The breakfasts were amazing and the service was beyond reproach . Special shout out to our servers Chez, Shannon and the boss Karen. Could not have been better. A massive thank you and a great start to our World Rugby League Cup campaign . Defo use this hotel again.

I booked a a night within the hotel on Halloween as we had booked a walking ghost tour within the city. It was a bit of a walk down to the Royal mile taking about 25 mins but as it was dry it was ok. The hotel was fantastic, the reception staff were lovely and very helpful. The entrance lobby was warm and clean, very inviting. All of the corridors were very well maintained, clean and beautifully decorated. Our room was very spacious with a queen sized bed, seating area and a good sized bathroom. The room again was nicely decorated and well equipped. Due to the restrictions the hotel restaurant was closed but we were allowed to order food into the hotel and the receptionist even pointed us in the direction of local shops. I would recommend the hotel and will most probably stay again.

This password is common to open the reception room on the first floor and the room. It is very convenient to enter and exit without having to bring the room card; our room is on the third floor, and it is a bit inconvenient to carry luggage up , thanks to the help of the hotel administrator; the room is newly renovated, everything is clean and tidy, and the room temperature can be adjusted; there is a small kitchen at the entrance, which basically meets the needs of self-cooking, thanks to this kitchen, the problem of eating is solved ( Edinburgh really has too few food options); we are a family of four staying here this time, in addition to the 1.8-meter bed in the room, the sofa in the living room is pulled out to a double bed, which is quite comfortable; the bathroom has a lot of space . There is a small Chinese supermarket (it seems to be called Meiqilin) ​​and a Tasco about 400 meters away from the hotel. It is great and solves a lot of food problems. 2. It’s very cold in Edinburgh in the morning and evening, so remember to bring thick clothes. 3. If you need to go from Edinburgh to London (or if you need to travel around various cities in the UK), it is recommended to buy a train pass in advance (two days in advance on Ctrip, and one day in advance on Taobao) to buy a train pass, which is cheaper than buying a single trip A lot, our family of four traveled from Edinburgh to London, went to Cambridge and Oxford in London, bought a three-day pass, and spent a total of less than 4,000 yuan (one way from Edinburgh to London for four people) It costs 3,000 yuan), and the pass can be used on any operating company’s trains on any train, which is very convenient.

This weekend we spent a couple of days in Edinburgh and used this location courtesy of our daughter and her partner. The location is ideal for moving around Edinburgh and enjoying the various sites etc. The room was in good order, however the cleaners had not checked the pull down bed which was disgusting however, this was quickly rectified and we got offered a free breakfast as compensation. Point to note, don't think the room you have booked has the ideal views as shown on the web-site as we were on the third floor looking on to an internal roof! Breakfast was ok, staff were attentive and although they got our order completely wrong it was again quickly rectified. Worth a stay, however can be pricey for what it is!

We stayed here for 2 nights and arrived home today. Firstly all the staff were absolutely lovely!! We was so happy and to say they’re dog friendly really made our stay much better. The bedroom was spacious, the bed was huge, comfy & the shower was great! The cleanliness was 1000/1000 and we would definitely be back!! We didn’t have breakfast but the prices are cheap & I really recommend staying here. My dog loved it, I did tell the staff not to tidy my room and when we come back they had (which I felt bad about because it was a mess & our dog had stuffing everywhere from his teddy) but Thankyou for cleaning it anyways. Fresh clean plenty of towels, the only thing I would say is please add proper toiletries e g shampoo and conditioner as my hair did not like the shampoo. All in all it’s in the city centre, the windows open and you get a huge fan in your room!! The tv works, the WiFi works & it’s next door to tesco express, sainsburys & pubs!

Stayed overnight at the Leonardo Hotel as we were hosting friends visiting from Pensilvania USA and all I can say is it was outstanding! From check in, special mention to Steve the Concierge (who diligently stored our bags and offered advice) to the welcome complimentary glass of Prosecco all of the staff were tentative and exceptionally friendly! The rooms were clean and comfortable and the restaurant for breakfast outstanding. All in all fantastic value for money and we would definitely recommend it!

We were staying as we attended a wedding that was held there so we also benefitted from a reduced rate room which is always a bonus. We had a room which overlooked the front of the property on to the main road (I put that information in for the staff to be able to see to the shower - see below). In terms of price as well for drinks at the bar it is very very good which surprised us given that it is a hotel we expected it to be more expensive. The hotel as I said were doing the wedding too and they did a lovely job in my opinion, the room was made up lovely and the turnarounds from ceremony, to meal to evening reception were done well too, the staff were very professional and the food was okay to. The hotel is clean and the beds are very comfortable. it has obviously been refurbished recently as the rooms are modern. In the morning there is a good breakfast on offer and you can have the standard fry up with options or opt for a cereal and fruit and juice option (or both if it takes your fancy). The only down side was the shower, it was very poor in terms of water pressure which is a shame as the bathroom is very modern and looks very good.

We may well have only stayed one night, but The Scott really left an impression on us both. We arrived at the hotel through the University which had us feeling very nervous but by the time we arrived at the hotel our fears were well and truly allayed as it it stunning. All the old worldly charm wrapped up in stunning modern world touched and comfort. We were met by the fabulous Leyton who actually made our stay as we arrived very grumpy and bedraggled but he had us in stitches within minutes, then went on to sort everything we needed for the rest of the night. The lady the following morning was less friendly but was helpful so we couldn’t complain. The one area that could be flagged up for constructive criticism is the food……the scrambled eggs for breakfast looked like they had been waving the white flag of surrender for quite some time, and Our meal in the Scholar was mediocre at best.
