Hotels near Opera at St. Mark’s in Florence

What a friendly and clean hotel! Convenient, excellent continental breakfast (even included eggs!), and superb staff to help with everything. Miguele, at the front desk was especially helpful with our entire 3 day stay. Parking was a big bonus, not usually included in this price range.

We arrived at the hotel pretty late as we were travelling from Rome. Gabriele was pretty prompt and sent us all the necessary information ahead of our arrival as the reception service was until 3pm on Sunday. The room was surprisingly nice and clean, and indeed exceeded our expectation. Even though for just a night I thought this was a pretty good one. Nearby hotel has a nice pasta restaurant Al Peposo, just need to walk about 10 mins. Day time you can just walk towards town areas, you won’t get bored with the surroundings.

Thank you :) Our experience at the hotel was great. In many ways this hotel was ideal for us, it wasn't right in the city center where all the noise is, but it was close enough to it (about half an hour's walk to the train station with a suitcase and bags). The hotel staff was excellent, very kind and respectful with lots of good and efficient advice. The room was spacious enough and clean and we didn't lack anything. One weak point was for us and it was the bed which was a double bed but, it was connected by two mattresses, and an air conditioner that worked but made a lot of noise. In conclusion, if you don't mind walking to the city center (I strongly recommend everyone to walk and not use public transport, there is a lot to see on the way :) ) And you are looking for the hotel staff to be nice, polite, experienced, know the surroundings and know how to give you tips, this is the hotel check for you. Great convenient location just 5 min walk from Firenze S.M.N station. Hotel is a boutique hotel style with modern decor. Room size was good and clean. Breakfast was simple but still a good enough spread. Would recommend this hotel!

Villa Castiglione is located on one of the hills surrounding Florence, it is a peaceful and quiet place surrounded by villas and vines. Converted monastery now features artistically decorated interiors. Rooms are just spacious enough for a lovely stay, with ensuite modern bathroom. It is as seen on photos, clean and the staff speak English - even though they appear a bit slow and bored, they were friendly and very helpful, as well as offering advice on travel. Parking is free on the premises but be prepared for narrow windy road to reach the place. Breakfast has enough variety, but don't expect healthy options, it is generally pastries, yoghurt, cereal and eggs. Great coffee, as this is Italy, of course. Dinner is officially served from 7.30 but nobody started serving until 8pm and the menu is rather limited, lacking simple options for tired travellers such as soup or salad - and it was expensive, considering value for money. All in all, this was a great find and we can recommend the Villa.

If you are coming to Florence (Firenze) via the train, staying at the Hotel Mercure Firenze Centro is a good choice as it is located just about a block away. It maybe a bit tricky to locate it the sign is not very apparent and is somewhat small. It is more visible from across the street. There is also a side entrance .When we were there in July 2022, they had a mandatory appointment time to reserve for the continental breakfast each morning starting at 7a.m. to avoid overcrowding and social distancing. Hotel Mercure Firenze Centro is a very convenient 10 minute walk to the Duomo. The service was very efficient at check in and they were very more than welcome to store our luggage as check in time wasn't until after 4p.m. The rooms are very huge and daily room service was good.

Decent hotel with plenty of space by European standards. Perfect for business travelers but a little too far away from anything for vacation travelers. Being located in a business park, there really isn't anything to see or do within walking distance. We stayed here as part of a bus tour and it made a good home base for several days as we toured the area.

We visited Hu Camping because it had the services we wanted whilst being really close to Florence. Check In could not have gone any easier. Really polite staff. We asked to upgrade our mobile home but there were none available until the end of the week. So we didn't bother. We drive to our home and noticed it was clean and well maintained. There were people gardening, cleaning all the time. Got to the mobile home and things were not ideal, utensils missing and a ladder to the bunk bed. We went to reception to ask about the missing things and the majority of what we needed was sent to us within an hour with huge apologies. It was an older mobile home but it was clean and ready for us to put our feet up. Having two bathrooms was really good with a family of 5. It was 37°C outside and the air conditioning worked well. We took a fan with us so it moved the air around a bit more. But we left it on during the day, with the interior doors open and the rooms were nice and cool. We used the restaurant, the service was really good and they were busy. It's a good idea to book. We had booked for 9pm and a couple were ahead of us in the queue when we arrived, they asked for a table and were told they'd have to wait 45 minutes. The food was tasty and fresh. Not overly expensive, considering some places nearby or other European cities. We used both pools, the kids one was a little cold but my boys (8, 13, 15) didn't care. Around the pool was clean and well maintained, there was enough shade if needed and a lovely olive grove section away from the pool for lots of shade. The pool bar was well equipped and the staff were friendly. The main pool was busy but people still had space to throw a ball or jump in. It's not there for doing lengths. The onsite shop was fine, it's not big, so we used it when we had to, otherwise there was a decent sized Coop not too far from the site (driving distance). The other bits were good, bike hire (although get there early), laundry services were great, the volleyball/football pitch needs updating but it was fine. The location is just outside the city. There was a bus to the centre from the campsite but we didn't use it. We drove and parked in underground parking in the city. All very easy. I had preconceptions about how it was going to be but I was really surprised with how good it was. And the staff were really polite and helpful. I would happily go back to visit it again.

L unica cosa buona è la posizione , la gentilezza di averci fatto avere la camera già alle 11.30 e averci fatto lasciare le valigie .peccato per la pulizia della camera mentre prendevo l' asciugamano ho visto le CIGLIA di quelle finte attaccate all asciugamano .orrore. ho non è stato proprio cambiato ma solo ripiegato oppure la lavanderia non ha lavato. Stanza 209. Poi un caldo assurdo durante la notte e non puoi regolarti l aria perché è centralizzata,quindi spalanco la finestra in piena notte,ma niente non si riesce a dormire per i rumori che provengono dalla strada. Poi al momento del ritiro dell auto nonostante li avessimo avvisati in anticipo di un ora, come richiesto da loro .l auto ce la riconsegnano con un ora di ritardo.

It is far from major tourist destinations. The accessibility is very poor. However, the hotel is very tidy and the facilities are good. The hotel restaurant was also very satisfying.
