"This was my first trip to Japan, and I specifically looked for an affordable hotel in Asakusa so I could explore the area the next day. I stumbled upon this hotel, and it was perfect! Senso-ji Temple and the Skytree are just a short walk away, and the yukata rental shop I booked was incredibly close, so even if I overslept, I wasn't late. The hotel's interior was clean and fantastic. My only minor complaint is that if you're assigned a room on the second floor, it can be a bit challenging to go up and down. I'd love to visit again!"

"I am very disappointed with my experience at this hotel. We had booked two rooms, but upon arrival, the hotel only provided one room and failed to resolve the issue properly. Despite not receiving the service we paid for, we were not given any refund. Trip.com informed us that the hotel had declined the refund request, which made the situation even more frustrating. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience."

"I've stayed here many times. The front desk staff are always very friendly, and English communication is no problem. It's also convenient to have a microwave at the front desk. You have to make your own bed, and the duvet cover is just a sheet, not something you can put a duvet inside. I understand this is a very thoughtful and humane approach, as changing duvet covers must be very tiring for the staff. However, I personally find it uncomfortable and I don't like this type of bedding. Also, the room has too many beds and feels very crowded. While the price isn't high, there are many other hostels in Tokyo that are cheaper and more spacious."

Set in Tokyo's Minato Ward, Guesthouse AkasakaII is positioned to meet the needs of those traveling for fun or business.

"Opened in 2026, it's clean and well-maintained. Can't complain. The security measures were also solid, which was reassuring. However, the air conditioning was too strong, and I felt cold at night. It's a direct 3-minute walk from Akasaka Station, which was a lifesaver since it was raining. The check-in process was a bit confusing, as there are two locations on the 4th and 5th floors. I didn't see any staff during my stay, which made me worry about how they would handle emergencies, especially since there was an earthquake during my visit."

First Cabin Ichigaya

Incredible stay! I wish I stayed here again, really. My main concern when staying at capsule hotels and hostels is the noise, but because it’s a rule not to make noise or eat or take calls where the pods are here, it was very relaxing. I stayed as a traveller but many people stay for work purposes. The television was a nice luxury, but I really like that each of the pods had two outlets and the air conditioner was really powerful. I also really liked the secure storage next to the bed. I stayed in the Business Class pod, which was perfect for a three-night stay. I keep forgetting that I can just stand in there, but I could and it was really nice to have the extra headroom and not feel too closed in. I really want to try the First Class for a longer stay, so next time I am in Tokyo, hopefully I can stay there. The included breakfast was also very good with many options, and the lounge/common area was the best one among the places I’ve stayed on my trip, especially since I had to do some work. Really, First Cabin is made for people working for travel. It’s the perfect blend of capsule hotel and business hotel. Being able to use the sento on-site was perfect after a long day (although the website says no tattoos allowed, I asked the front desk person who checked me in if it was okay to use it since I have western-style tattoos, and they said it was okay). You get new towels (and slippers!) everyday. I like that they have both curling and flat irons for hair, as well as hair dryers of course. The self-serve amenities at the front desk covered everything, even a shower towel. The laundry machines were really well-maintained and clean. It was a great location, a few stops away from Shinjuku Station so not too busy and chaotic, but still close to everything. There’s a drug store right next door, and an Mos Burger and other places to eat just steps away. The area around Ichigaya Station was really nice, and I wish I spent more time exploring around there.

The accommodation is about a ten-minute walk from the station. It's clean and tidy, and having a washing machine is a huge plus for travelers. The bathroom even has a bathtub for a relaxing soak. The only downside was that on the day we stayed, the guests upstairs kept running around, making a lot of noise! It improved after the host intervened, which I really appreciate 🙏 Kinshicho Station area is very lively, and I'd love to visit again if I get the chance!

It was too noisy... I consider myself someone who can sleep anywhere as soon as my head hits the pillow, but here I woke up almost every hour. First, there were white women chatting in the common area, then people in my room rustling through their luggage, then doors opening and closing. I feel like the door locks and the ability to bring luggage into the room aren't very well thought out. The location is great, about ten minutes from Shinjuku Station. However, I wouldn't recommend it unless you have an exceptionally high tolerance for noise. 🥲

Good price for a capsule within walking distance of a JR station that reaches ikebukuro and Shinjuku pretty fast. Even has an onsen and sauna! Has a chill area to read manga and buy beer also. Staff also friendly and speaks English which is good to not get lost Only downside is the baggage area is quite messy and feels a bit dirty

I stayed for a few days and felt very comfortable; this hostel is pretty great overall. They have a buffet, so food is very convenient. The staff are all very friendly and patient when you have questions. Downstairs, there's a coffee shop and a water dispenser, which makes daily life very easy. The room was clean and tidy, and didn't feel cramped at all. I stayed in a six-person room, but there were only four of us, so there was plenty of space. The window faced the street, and the view was decent. Overall, it was a very reassuring stay.

Before my arrival, I had to change my reservation due to a personal matter, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful in processing it. I was also very pleased that they assigned me a good bed upon check-in. The only minor drawback was that the lockers weren't on the same floor, unlike at the Ningyocho branch, which was a bit inconvenient. Other than that, everything else was satisfactory.

Location not the best unless you don’t mind walking 10-15 mins. Same floor with all dorms - female, male, mixed and toilet is not control by card, anyone can go in. Think about it at midnight bathing to worry a drunker to come in (it’s Shibuya, come on. Famous for drinking) Many local drinking bars outside the road on the way to hostel. This is good. Have lift for the rooms but no lift outside so I have to carry my luggage to few stairs to reach reception (after 15 mins walking from Shibuya station green line) omg I don’t mind to stay again if I only have a backpack.

I chose Shinjuku Kuyakusho-mae because of its convenient location, but I was disappointed by the cleanliness and maintenance of the capsule. The capsule had visible dust buildup in the gaps and corners, indicating that these areas are not cleaned thoroughly. More concerning, the air vents inside the capsule were dusty and did not appear to be working at all. With little to no airflow, the capsule became stuffy and uncomfortable, especially during the night. For a capsule hotel where guests spend hours in a small enclosed space, proper ventilation and cleanliness are essential. I hope management improves its cleaning standards and ensures that the ventilation system is regularly maintained and functioning properly. The excellent location is overshadowed by these sanitation and maintenance issues.

I checked in the night before CM107 Day 2. For just over 100 per night, and with its super convenient location for taking the Seagull to Odaiba (or the Monorail to the airport), the price is definitely unbeatable. The subway Daimon Station is right downstairs, along with convenience stores. Staff service made check-in easy. The bed was quite firm, which I actually found comfortable after not sleeping well on soft beds the previous two nights. There's a light inside the capsule, but only one two-pin socket, which was a bit insufficient.
