Myself and my partner were booked to stay here from a Saturday evening through until Monday afternoon. This was the longest we were staying anywhere on our journey around the country, mostly enticed in by the promise of whale watching and the JaJa Ding Dong cafe and Eurovision experience. It would be fair to say that this was to be the absolute highlight of our holiday and the main reason that we’d decided to holiday in Iceland. On arrival, there were no staff present and our room key was on the front desk for us to collect. First impressions of our room were good. It was large, very warm and the huge bed was very comfortable. However, when looking for a plug socket, I found that the floor was coated in a thick layer of dust and dirt in the corners. We also noticed that there was only one tea bag and no cups in our room for us to use. Undeterred, as British people in need of a tea fix, we left our bags in the room and excitedly hurried next door to JaJa Ding Dong, only to find an upside down sign in the window stating it was ‘closed until further notice.’ Everywhere we looked online said it was open, we weren’t notified by the staff that there was an issue with the cafe and we couldn’t find any clues as to why it was closed or when it might reopen. Come the following morning, we realised that the closure meant there was now nowhere to have breakfast. Most of the places in town were closed as it was Sunday. We’d also not had the greatest nights sleep as the heating was on full blast all night with no way to turn it down. I also had to shower with the door open as the bathroom had become unbearably hot. To continue our run of bad luck, our whale watching trip got cancelled (we know that is in no way the fault of the hotel) and that led us to decide to cut our losses and leave Husavik by Sunday lunchtime. Overall, we had a very disappointing stay and probably wouldn’t return. Husavik seems like a lovely town though.

Outstanding location - you can walk to the jetty from where all the whale watching tours depart. And the must visit Husavik whale museum is also in the same vicinity. The rooms are well appointed though the bathroom is a bit small. Surprisingly the breakfast spread was inadequate for such a nice hotel.

A lot of nice things about that hotel: warm welcome, surprising little museum about the Eurovision Song Contest, pictures and memorabilia from the Apollo astronaut training, and last but not least: fabulous pizzas in their restaurant. The German hotel manager told us the cook was from Napoli and we can only confirm the pizzas are excellent. The crust is thin, crispy and light, the ingredients very tasty: a delight!! Well located overlooking the harbor and close to Geosea (5 minutes walking). In short, a good choice.

One of our favorite hotels during our stay in Iceland. The location was good, just at the edge of the town, and breakfast was also very nice, served in their adjacent Eurovision-themed restaurant. At the moment they have a fun little exhibit on the ESC, inspired by the movie "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" which was partly shot in Husavik (entry is free for hotel guests). The room was okay but could use a bit of refurbishing. Be prepared for the strong sulphur smell of the (hot) water (as anywhere in northern Iceland).

Spent 3 nights in late May. This place is not fancy but the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, they supply coffee and tea in the room and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The manager helped us with dinner reservations and told us about a large hot spring we could visit. It is a short walk to downtown for restaurants and whale watching tours. The breakfast was good and the "breakfast lady" was a super friendly Italian woman. They use glacier water for cold with is fresh tasting and thermal water for hot which has a sulfur smell. You get used to it. The only improvement I could suggest is to construct the curtains to block the light coming in from the sides. It never gets dark in late May

We stayed for two night, as soon as ee checked in Henrik welcomed us, he was already being super helpful other guests. He is exstreamly service minded as well as Frank. They both took such good care of us. We had drinks and pizza at their JaJa Ding Dong restaurant which had the best expresso martini in Husavik. The room we had got a nice harbour view. We highly recommend to stay here if you visit Husavik.

Day 5 of our Ring Road Road Trip and drive from Egilsstadir in lashing rain and gale force winds made the barren highland landscape even more bleaker. We arrived early around midday but Frank said our room 201 was ready. It was set up for twins and we like a double; not a problem said Frank. Go have some lunch and he recommended a couple of places and he would sort which he did. On checking in he took our bags up for us. The room was compact and comfortable with dual aspects which were unfortunately not enhanced by the weather. Needless to say the whale watching boats were cancelled. We eat fabulous pizzas in the themed restaurant and likewise breakfast which was equally good in quality and freshness. First real experience of thermally heated hot water with its slight sulphur smell and pure glacial cold water. A very comfortable stay and all credit to Frank and the team for their welcome and attentive service. Wish we could have stayed longer as hotel is centrally located in Husavik and great base for exploring the area and all the geo thermals and waterfalls.

Clean and comfortable hotel 5 minute walk from the centre of Husavik. Single room, with shower, compact but adequate. Hosts very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was overwhelmed one morning due to a full coach party all trying to eat at the same time, check with host and eat accordingly. for those not wanting to eat out they do now serve pizza most evenings

Just needed somewhere for a night before doing a whale watching trip in the morning. Booked an early trip thinking we had plenty of time for breakfast. Website says breakfast from 7:30 but turned out didn't open until 08:00. Ended up rushing it over 10 minutes. Hotel was generally fine if a little basic. Attached is a small museum dedicated to Eurovision
