Roosevelt Inn Mount Rushmore Reviews

The room is located halfway up the mountain, clean and sanitary, with free parking. Although there is no breakfast, there are simple meals in the morning. It is very close to the north gate by car from the hotel, which is very convenient for tourism.

Lovely hotel. Definitely a bit older but the room was spotless, bedding was super neat and comfy. Renee at the front desk was super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was plentiful. Totally would stay here again! ♥️

Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Room was spacious but bathroom was small but not a big deal. Good location. Breakfast was good. It was off season so not a lot of eating options.

So very close to Mount Rushmore and a great starting place for any Black Hills adventure. The staff are the best in the state!!

This is an old property that has good things to offer but it is in urgent need of updates. Food was okay and it's really close to other shops and dining.

The walls are paper thin. So we were woken up early by people talking on the other side of the wall. The bed also had huge dips in the middle.

My friend and I decided to visit Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse monument and several other nearby attractions off season, early Nov. We wanted a place to sleep and so didn't care about many amenities. From that perspective I can say we got more than we expected from the Roosevelt, especially from the staff who were extremely nice and helpful in very genuine way. I miss talking with them. I'm sure there were far more tales to here. Nighttime Bob was a hoot...interesting life but not so incredible that it was unbelievable. Nothing special about the breakfast, tubs of scrambled eggs, sausages, hash browns, pancakes, cereals and cakes, but it was tasty and in good supply...to go cups readily available. The room was clean, everything worked and no issues with supplies...towels etc. No safety concerns but parking could be a problem in season. Mt Rushmore was practically walking distance...uphill lol. Nov begins off season...think Stephen King "Shinning" come the snows. Nothing is open off season except the monuments. Had to travel into Rapid City for restaurants...40 minutes. All in all our stay at the Roosevelt was memorable in a very positive way.

This property is unique and has a historic ambiance and is close to Mt Rushmore. The breakfast was great. The bathroom area was small for three adults and it wasn’t cleaned well. They we very responsive to any needs. Most of the shops around were closed in October and the weather was very cold but we had a great time visiting the major sites with no crowds.

Beautiful view of the mountains from our room. The facility was quiet and cozy. Only downside was that our bed was very uncomfortable.

We went on the “first snowfall” of the season in Keystone which caused most of the town to close down for the season. The general store was convenient and one pizza shop was open. Definitely need to rent a car to visit other towns close by. That being said the hotel was convenient to other towns which we enjoyed visiting. Mount Rushmore was within 3-4 miles. Breakfast was good at the hotel and was different everyday. Hotel was older but was clean and staff very pleasant and accommodating. Small game room in hotel. Laundry services available. Quiet hotel. Bundle up!!

It is the off season and there were only a few guests and the town has basically shut down for the winter, but the staff was friendly, the room was nice and breakfast was a pleasant surprise.

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and pleasant. I’d recommend this place. The only problem we had is that we stayed at the end of October and everything in the town was shut down…including restaurants.
