Windows opened out to greens and a garden. Bed was comfortable and the appearance of the both the room and the entire hotel pleasant. We enjoyed spectacular breakfasts! The Browne Room (bar) was closed but we spent some time in the downstairs bar. Staff was exceedingly adept and pleasant, at reception, in the dining room, and also in the bar. We were encouraged to enjoy the whisky tasting experience and did! But one of the reasons for encouraging us was that we'd learn a fair amount about the different whiskeys. Our server knew less than we did.

Bed was comfortable. Shower was good. But the room was a disappoin**ent. We had a reservation for a deluxe room but when my husband injured his back earlier in our trip, we asked for an accessible room. We were told there were none but our room had a walk-in shower. And there was a lift to the second floor. But, because the building was old, not all rooms were on the same level and there were 2 small flights to maneuver from the elevator - not possible with a walker. We never thought to ask about that. Fortunately the hotel was able to find a room which was on the same level as the lift. If someone at the hotel had thought that perhaps someone asking for an accessible room might not be able to maneuver several flights of stairs when we made our request, I would have been much happier.

The hotel is an older, lovely building with lots of character. The staff was exceptional! Michelle and Ida were so helpful. I can’t say enough good about these ladies. I will definitely stay there again next time I’m in the area. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of food to choose from. The hostess was very attentive. The bar within the hotel was great as well. The bar tender was very friendly. She gave us suggestions for when we moved on to Dublin. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

We booked a junior suite for 2 nights. The room was located on the street side which was quite noisy with the road and foot traffic if you left the windows opened however closing the window blocked out the majority of noise. The room was spacious, but I wouldn’t say the decor was modern it had an antique feel to it. The walls are quite thin so you could hear guests in the room next door. The wi-fi was ridiculously slow when it actually worked. No face washers in the room but a call to receptions quickly resolved that. Breakfast was cooked to order and we loved the traffic light posters 🚥 advising guests of the quiet and busy times. A central location, no parking on site but a public car park is a short walk from the hotel costing €3 for 24 hours or free on Sundays and public holidays.
