Kyoto Station Kyoto|0.74km from Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Kyoto
On one hand, it’s a gorgeous hotel with incredible, professional and helpful staff. Very comfortable accommodation (we booked the suite; room 401) with high spec finishing and serious eye to detail. All mod cons, first class shower/ toiletries and a bed you don’t want to leave. There’s a library on 3rd floor with Nintendo memorabilia and a well stocked whisky bar with a little outside space - very relaxing. On the other hand, the location isn’t great. Whilst only 1.6km from the action, you REALLY notice it, mainly due to one factor, food. A) there is no room service. B) there are literally 2-3 restaurants in a 7 minute walking distance (2 of which we went to and left after a drink). C) limited food at the hotel and at set times. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all need to be pre-booked (if not part of your room cost). All are set menus i.e. you have no choice. You get what your given with a decent price tag. We tried breakfast on our last morning and whilst the quality was good, it really wasn’t to our taste. The lounge has snacks but it’s literally that; cheese, ham, chocolate or cake. So if food and location are not top on your priority list, this is a strong 4*, maybe even a 5* hotel and experience. If they are though, overall it’s probably closer to a 3* experience and therefore, you question the value for money. Again, the staff were excellent and one of the highlights of our stay.

HOTEL Tomiya with M's

Kyoto Station
Hotel is situated in a good location. Just opposite of Kyoto station. I recommend to go there via the station’s main exit, rather than the underground exit. The exit via underground is A5, but can be difficult to locate for the first time. Amenities are basic, nothing fancy or extra. It’s a self check in/out hotel, although they do have staff on call if needed. The doors are all electronic using a passcode, so might be a bit of a challenge for elderly people to operate if not used to. Overall, a very nice hotel. Highly recommend if you need to get around in Kyoto using the public transport.

If you are a traveller like us who would like some more privacy, this place is not exactly for you. Don't get me wrong, the hotel staff are absolutely wonderful. Just that most things are communal and you have wait for your turn to shower and finish by 11.35. The walls are quite thin indeed, you can easily hear people walking on the hallway or simply chatting in their rooms.

Kyoto Station
We love staying here so much. The hotel is closed to everything: 3 mins walk to Kyoto station, next to Yodobashi dep. which you can do shopping and find so many restaurants on 6 floor. The staffs are so friendly and helpful. The hotel room is so clean, wide and hygienic. You can pick hotel amenities by yourself next to the receptionist counter. I’ll come back staying here again for sure.
Kyoto Tower Hotel

Kyoto Station
This hotel is in excellent location right across Kyoto Station and is accessible within literally 2 minutes walk from Kyoto JR station. Busses to all the famous shrines and tourist spots are right across the main road from the hotel. Food options are plenty in this area. There is a huge food hall in the basement of this hotel and McDonald's and Burger King in the same building as the hotel. The hotel is actually a part of Kyoto Tower. Kiyomizu-dera, Kinkakuji, Sanjusangendo and all other tourists sightseeing places are accessible by bus in front of the hotel. The double rooms are good sized, not as tiny as other Japanese hotels. There is a working desk, high speed internet connection and a bathtub in the shower area. We really enjoyed our stay and felt special with Japanese style guest Services. The reception and lobby is at 8F. I highly recommend this hotel for travelers to Kyoto.

Kyoto Station
At 9 o'clock in the evening, Kyoto Station went wrong. It took a long time to find the hotel. The location is still convenient. Everyone has to pay 600 yen tax, cash, the boss is not enthusiastic, and the Kyoto B&B feels once. Most of the rooms are on the second floor. There is no elevator. The stairs are very narrow and the luggage needs to be moved. It is not convenient to use the public bathroom. Wait. To sum up, you can experience it once, but it is still comfortable and convenient for the hotel.
