Hotel la Quinta

Location is convenient, mall is about 5 minutes walk. La Quinta is always my first choice when staying in la ceiba. Their breakfast is delicious and the fruits are always fresh.

Property is pretty run down. Makes me sad ‘cause this was one of the nicest hotels in la ceiba. Lots of work needs to be done to the rooms. The staff were amazing! So kind and attentive.

I have stayed at this hotel before which is why I chose to stay here again. This time around; i was unhappy with my accommodation. My room was on the first floor directly infront of the garden and i was given 2 remotes to work my tv. I asked to be switched into a different room that was away from the garden because i noticed alot of bugs crawling in and around my room since it was directly infront of the garden. I was moved into another room however it was still on the first floor just across from my original room which still left me infront of the garden. I specifically asked to not be placed infront of that garden but for whatever reason i was left on that side of the hotel which was pretty far from the main lobby, pool. Im hoping it had anything to do with my black race. Then, i had roaches in my room! I was soo disgusted by this to the point that i started sleeping with the lamp on just incase i had to kill one again. I literally woke up one night to use the rest room and there was a big roach directly next to my bed after i had just killed one in the bathroom prior to going to sleep. Bugs has alot to do with why i asked to not be kept on that first floor infront of the garden. My bed sheets were dirty and had hair on them each day even after housekeeping cleaned my room. Thankfully i always travel with my own blankets and pillow cases for reasosns such as these. I know many hotels dont do a good job at thoroughly cleaning their sheets. Also it just didnt feel safe.

Room was small, no toiletries, almost zero water pressure. Water was kinda warm at best. Parking is not the best, we could have parked in the back lot but we were not told about it. Would not stay again.

Hidden little gem for La Ceiba. You have to manage expectations— you’re not going to find a 5 star place anywhere in La Ceiba but for the price, this hotel is lovely, clean, the staff is friendly and helpful

The hotel is lovely but do NOT stay here! Our room was broken into while we were sleeping! A man entered our room with a key. He was not only able to open the door handle lock but also the deadbolt that was locked from the inside. My husband started yelling and confronted him as he was entering, apparently scaring him off. Unfortunately my husband did not have his glasses on and did not see him clearly. When we tried to call the desk with the room phone it did not work. We immediately went to reception and complained. The manager was called in but really did nothing more than apologize saying a guest was given a misprogramed key. If the”guest” had been given a misprogramed key he would have tried that key in his own door only to find it did not work. He would not have come to our door. Also, a bellhop would have accompanied him to his door and no bellhop was with him. Management was not helpful and were perhaps even complicit. Nothing was done other than to offer us a change of rooms. Had we not been in the room, it would have been easy to rob us. Our room had a broken safe so our valuables could not have been protected. The hotel is huge and had very few guests. No reason to put two different parties even close to the same room much less give out the same room twice. We asked to speak with this “guest” but he was “unavailable” in person. When I spoke with him on the phone after insisting the manager at least call him, the “guest” was not apologetic and gave me a pat explanation as if from a script. Who was this person I was speaking to? We tried to sleep after this but we weren’t comfortable. We moved the dresser up against the door. Fire hazard! I repeat: broken phone, broken safe, master key….UNSAFE!

Room was very comfortable, always had hot water, the A/C always worked, fresh linens every day and room cleaned thoroughly daily, room was very quiet, the food in the restaurant was very good but could use change-ups for breakfast. They had the same buffet items every day for breakfast, but we learned you can order other things from the kitchen if you don't want the buffet. The cafe latte was excellent. Dinners were ordered from menus and good. It was easy to get lost on your way to/from lobby to room the first few days because there are so many halls and corridors, but on the 4th day, I finally found a shortcut and did not waste time getting lost and having to turn around like the first 3 days. Located nextdoor to a Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins was a plus with Pizza Hut across the street if you get tired of Honduran food.

Able to stop here and sleep before heading to Roatán! Quiet, nice and safe
