Smile Hotel Shinsaibashi in Osaka truly exceeded my expectations, offering a five-star experience. The location is superb, right next to the bustling Shinsaibashi shopping district. Everything from shopping and dining to attractions is within easy reach, yet the hotel itself is a tranquil oasis, providing a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The cleanliness was impeccable; every corner of the room was spotless, the bedding pristine, and the bathroom gleamed. The air was fresh and pleasant. While the facilities aren't luxurious, they are complete and practical. The comfortable mattress ensured a good night's sleep, and thoughtful amenities like air conditioning and an air purifier were much appreciated. The staff were a true highlight – everyone from the front desk to the housekeeping team was warm and friendly, always greeting guests with a smile, patiently answering questions, and even hand-drawing maps to help with directions, which made me feel incredibly welcome. In summary, with its convenient location, pristine environment, excellent facilities, and attentive service, this is an outstanding choice for anyone visiting Osaka. My only regret is that this was just a stopover for me, and I only stayed for one day before heading to Kyoto. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Osaka.

Cleanliness: Pretty good, quite tidy. Small but has everything you need.
Environment: The surrounding area is just okay, but there are many convenience stores nearby, and it's very close to Shinsaibashi.

The room was clean, and having a separate bath and toilet made for a comfortable stay. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but that also means it's quiet and peaceful. Although there's a window, you can't see outside, and no natural light comes in, so the room only brightens with artificial light. This was a slight drawback for me, as I prefer to wake up with sunlight. However, overall it was excellent, and I would definitely stay here again.

The room was a bit small; it might be fine for one person. There's no desk, but it makes up for it with its exquisite decor and location. It's less than 800 meters from Dotonbori, the heart of Osaka's downtown, yet this particular area isn't too noisy, offering a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle. The breakfast was pretty good overall too.

I found a hotel conveniently located near Namba and Shinsaibashi. The most direct subway exit is Nihonbashi Exit 7, and there are plenty of 24-hour convenience stores right downstairs. At night, while some noise was audible, it was generally quiet most of the time. The corridors are brightly lit. The room is compact but equipped with all essential facilities. The TV worked perfectly, the bathroom mirror is generously sized, and hot water comes out instantly. Service was good; you could easily pick up anything you needed from downstairs, and luggage storage was also available. (Overall, it was a very good stay, though a minor point would be some slight wall stains and the room genuinely being quite small).

The room we booked in this hotel was 22 square meters. It was clean and tidy overall, with great air conditioning. The front desk staff could communicate fluently in Chinese and provided warm service. We booked it for two days at first, but after visiting Universal Studios, we decided to have another night of rest in Osaka, so we booked it for another day. My child and I were both satisfied.
Located in the middle of the popular Dotombori Shopping Street, it takes 3 minutes from the Glico Running man by walk. The nearby Subway Namba Station is a 7-minute walk away, while Subway Nippombashi Station is a 5-minute stroll. Rooms feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen cable TV, fridge, and electric kettle. The en suite bathroom comes with a bathtub, free toiletries and a hairdryer. The front desk is available for 24 hours. Guests can make a 10-minute walk to the Amerikamura and Shinsaibashi areas. Osaka Castle and Universal Studios Japan are both a 35-minute train ride away.

The hotel is located near the heart of Dotonbori, close to Don Donki, and within walking distance of Shinsaibashi and Namba. There is a 7-Eleven right outside, as well as a tax-free drugstore, which is very convenient.
Check-in and check-out were both fast and smooth. You can leave your luggage at the hotel, but it is at your own risk. I hope next time they will take better care of the luggage, similar to other nearby hotels.
Our water closet bidet was not working properly during our stay. The Super Twin Room was clean and spacious, which we appreciated. However, we hope the pillows can be a bit fluffier, as they were quite flat. It would also be better if there were two pillows provided per bed for added comfort

Decent location, close to dotonbori but not stuck in the middle of it. Staff were friendly. Room was decent size, enough to store and open suitcases if needed. Room was clean except toilet seat had something sticky on it needed wiping off with soap. Bed was comfy. Door Locks were a bit awkward/noisy (tap with your hand, then with the card to unlock). Things like toothbrushes and Razer's etc were available in the lobby
Konbinis close by, main Namba train station about 15 mins walk, otherwise closer station was about 5 minutes walk.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Nihonbashi and Nagahoribashi subway stations, and Shinsaibashi is an 8-minute walk away. There's a FamilyMart nearby, so you can check in online before arriving and check in directly. The room isn't huge, but it's perfectly adequate for a solo traveler. The bathroom is a bit small, but unfortunately, it doesn't have a bidet. Overall, the value for money is acceptable.

The hotel is located in the beautiful and prosperous Xinzhaiqiao/Nanbo area, adjacent to KAMEN JOSHI THEATER, the Japanese Paper Club and the library in the Osaka City Island, and within walking distance to the Nihonbashi subway station, the Daotonbori shop street, the Heimen market. The Universal Studios, with superior location, convenient transportation and strong popularity, the unique and fantastic Osaka Sea Resort, the retro Tongtian Pavilion and other famous tourist attractions are not far from the hotel. The room is well-equipped with 24-hour hot water and a bathtub, a hair dryer, and a thoughtful air humidifier, providing you with a feeling of being at home. Some front desk staff can provide thoughtful Chinese services for you, allowing communication to be smooth. The superior geographical environment, coupled with meticulous and thoughtful service, welcomes all the friends of the hotel to come and harvest a precious holiday memory in Osaka.

The room's toilet was tiny. They didn't provide any bottled water at all, and the sheets weren't very clean. I strongly advise against the breakfast; the food was bad, the service was poor, and the hygiene was also an issue. I took two paper cups to get some warm water, and the staff member directly snatched them from my hand, saying paper cups cost extra. I was like, 'Excuse me?' You could have explained it nicely, seriously. It felt like I was stealing the cups. The fixed breakfast set menu was incredibly limited and unappetizing, and the tables and chairs hadn't even been properly cleaned. When I returned after eating, I found egg sauce all over my clothes and pants (and no, it wasn't from me dropping something).

Amazing
GGuest UserEverything was great, just one small thing: the room was really, really tiny. It was hard to open our luggage, especially since we had three bags. But it was very clean, and the staff were very helpful. Check-in and check-out were self-service, and there's a McDonald's right next door, which was very convenient.
JJudith AldIt’s a perfect option if your traveling solo, its accessible for the location and the installation and service is good. You need to be aware that you need to be quite in the bedroom area, every bed don’t have big walls to mute the silence, gladly I didn’t have any noisy neighbors on the women dorm so I slept well during my three nights there . Theres a common area for woman and other for everyone . The showers and toilets are shared but in good condition, they give you towels and sleep wear , the location is also good, near to Donbori and to the subway.
EE6734****The hotel is right by the subway, but we ended up taking a long detour following our navigation. The back entrance is really close to the park's main gate, which was super convenient and comfortable for walking back to the hotel when the park closed around 9 PM.
However, check-in at the hotel was quite slow, and they didn't provide any power adapters. Breakfast seating was limited, so we had to queue up and wait a long time to get in. Eating outside in the cold wasn't ideal, but at least we could hear the screams from the roller coasters (ಥ⌣ಥ).
There's a commercial street nearby that also sells Universal merchandise, which was great for picking up last-minute souvenirs before we left.
Overall, I'd definitely stay at this hotel again next time and have already recommended it to friends. The convenience for families with kids is the most important factor.
__WeChat263706****Absolutely loved it! It's super close to Universal Studios, and the route there is very convenient. It's also near the subway station and right next to the aquarium pier ⛵️, couldn't be more convenient. The convenience stores on both sides are also great.
RRicky tan sgUnbeatable location as hotel is situated in between two train stations with Nipponbashi being just 5 minutes walk.
Smack right in the center of eateries and shopping, its super convenient!
3 elevators served the Main Tower, which meant a much shorter waiting time
Daily breakfast served delicious local and continental cuisine. I really like tbe coffee machine which served aromatic matcha latte
Room was spacious for 2 pax, clean and functional!
Bathroom was equipped with branded toiletries and the shower had good warm water strength
Staff were friendly, always smiling and polite.
Great stay, highly recommended!
MMaTheBreIn general, the hotel is absolutely ok. The price is affordable and the interior is new and wealthy. The location is recommendable with close public transport, a supermarket, convenience stores, and a coin laundry. The hotel has a shared room on the second floor with free coffee, tea, and water. Every day they have free beer happy hour from 6 to 7 including a DJ performance.
I would not recommend it to families with children or to people who prefer a “standard” hotel. Usually, hotels in Japan are super child-friendly, but there are no products for children (toothbrushes, pyjamas, slippers, etc.). The breakfast is in our opinion not worth it. It is good in terms of taste, but they do not have a buffet. There are some different sandwiches you can choose 3 (this is limited and when I asked why the answer was: “If they do not limit I could eat 10”. They have no variation in the sandwiches so when you have breakfast there for a week you've eaten all at least once or twice. Here as well nothing for kids so I paid full price breakfast for my son and the only thing he got was some juice. For us, another no-go was the super loud music in the public area (there is the breakfast room). You can enjoy your morning coffee with electronic dance music. The hotel has no laundry, but they offer a service. You can bring your clothes no matter how many and get them back for 5000¥ cleaned and dry. The coin washer 2minutes away is 900¥ for 8kg in 1h.
For younger people or for 1-2 nights absolutely ok. Breakfast better go out to one of the 1000 coffees and enjoy a wider choice.
GGuest UserThis hotel is conveniently located near both Honmachi and Shinsaibashi. The front desk and breakfast area are both on the 18th floor, and they offer complimentary hot water, coffee, and ice. The room was larger than previous ones I've stayed in, as they've removed the bathtub to make way for a separate shower and toilet room. While there's no vanity mirror, there is a full-length mirror. I was even able to fit my 26-inch suitcase in the room, haha. Breakfast is a set menu, with two options to choose from. The food was good, but I imagine it might get repetitive if you're staying for a while. Overall, it's a good place.
AAnonymous UserComing from Kansai Airport, you do have to transfer a few times on the subway. However, the hotel is very close to Juso Station, about a 6-7 minute walk. Juso Station has a food street, so dining is super convenient! It's not crowded around at night, so sleeping is very, very quiet! There's a convenience store at the intersection, and Don Quijote is just across the main road! There's also Daikoku Drugstore nearby! Although breakfast is simple, it changes a bit every day, which shows a lot of thought. You'll definitely be full and satisfied! The lobby also has vending machines with beer, drinks, and ice cream! All your normal needs can be met here! Personally, I think even though the location is a little out of the way, it makes up for it in value for money, and transferring subways is still very convenient~
SSollee- Spa was good, breakfast was good.
- Location was good; we could go shopping or eating outside easily. The area across the station felt a bit unsafe, and there were some homeless people around.
- Very clean floors in the entire building since everyone had to take off shoes at the lobby.
- After check-out, the hotel allows guests to store their luggage if guests stay on the premises to enjoy the spa. However, if guests leave the hotel after checkout and then return later, the hotel does not offer luggage storage. In that case, you have to use the coin lockers in front of the hotel. It was a bit inconvenient because I had to exchange money again to use the locker. That was the only inconvenience.
GGuest UserConveniently located at Dotonburi and about 6-7 mins walk to metro. Location is near bars and at night you will see girls and some males standing around, they won’t disturb you but will hang around getting customers into their bars. We stayed highest at level 12 so can’t hear any noise from the street. Rooms are very small and we couldn’t open our luggage at all, if you don’t mind this and the bar streets, it’s conveniently located. Also we took Namba Nankai line directly to airport so that’s nicely situated!
