Horrible service and overrated hotel, for sure choose another one. Lip Ari has better options. Old furniture, not cozy decoration, extremely noisy, nice spot for pictures but with a really inconvenient location for going to everything. No shuttle service available from the hotel. Appliances don’t work, not hot water and very basic breakfast. Night priced, absolutely not worthy for what you pay.Surely is not a quality hotel of 4 starts. Old fashion, basic bar service (although they say they have a restaurant). Inflexible restaurant schedule eve though they are flexible for other annoying services, as been very noisy at night and very early in the morning. They are able to transform the hotel in a Disco anytime with not notice in advance, so you will pay for a room but you will not be able to sleep or rest until 3:00 a.m in the morning. And when you tell the staff they don’t care about it, son for sure is not suitable for families with kids or somebody who wants to have a peaceful holidays.

This is the best hotel ever. It’s timeless, they clean the rooms regularly, the food is incredible, portions are generous, and the staff are the nicest we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting… and I’ve been to a lot of hotels. Luigi and the rest of the waiters are the main reason we will come back and recommend this hotel to our friends! Our grandparents came here in the 1960’s and it seems that 60 years on the standards have not slipped.

A beautiful location with a a nice view over the entrance to the port of Lipari. The water I the sea was clear. The breakfast offers a good start of the day, different sweets an nice Coffey. You could expect more of the rooms. They were clean and included all necessary features but old. That’s okay but the maintenance should improve! To many broken things, for example air-condition, lamps, fridge…

Had the absolute best time at Hotel Carasco in Lipari. The building and architecture are quaint, and charming, the staff super nice and friendly and helpful. We booked a non sea view and were upgraded to a sea view – Thank you, was very much appreciated! The pool is large and salted and refreshing and we spent a lot of time in it. They have a private set of stairs leading down to the sea for awesome snorkelling. The food and drinks prices are very reasonable for Europe. Lipari in general is amazing. We loved every minute of it. We walked a lot, shopped, exploring the old town, wine tasted, hired scooters, and ate and drank far too much! We hired a boat and visited many island beaches and anchored nearby and swam a lot. The hotel is ten mins walk from one of two city centres and to be honest we appreciated the walk to walk off all the delicious food we were overeating in town and at the hotel... The hotel will arrange a shuttle (€3 per person if not mistaken) if walking is not your thing. The hotel is not super modern and is a little rough around the edges but it adds to the charm and one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences we have had. The internet wasn't the best but we worked around it. The restaurant views are stunning. We found the rooms and hotel to be very clean and yes a seagul tried to eat our food once we left our table for a minute but was was quite entertaining and he became a regular source of jokes between the staff and other customers. We stayed a full week – all in all we highly recommend. Lipari and neighbouring Salina which we visited felt like a super authentic Sicilian/Italian experience – we encountered many more Italian tourists than foreigners which added to the authenticity and the towns and islands are still very untouched – you are mostly spoken to in Italian which further adds to the authentic experience – we will definitely come back...

If you need good, strong reliable wifi this is not the place to be. They say it is an island problem but traders have rightly said that they can’t process credit cards without wifi. All my outside transactions went through. The hotel has the most amazing sea and township views, if you have the right room. We had a corner town side suite. The room is large, comfortable but not fancy. The shower head is too close to the wall and the hot water ran out. The pool and access to the sea is good but they charge you 3€ for a towel. The umbrellas have seen better days. Maintenance is lacking with only one lift operating and some outside and dining room floor tiles need to be fully replaced together with attention to the garden. Be prepared to walk 15 to 20 mins into town or pay 10€ for there shuttle. It is nearly 30 mins walk from the port.

My husband arrived and I left within a few hours, just as soon as we could get a ticket for the ferry. Where to begin? The hotel has not been touched since the 1960s. The lower floor is boarded up and abandoned. The pool Is filthy. Time warped within the 1960s. We felt as if we were in the twilight zone. The staff ignored us and was indifferent as to whether you existed or not. The sandwiches were nauseating. The seagull helped himself to my sandwich. The hotel has such an eerie presence. It feels like an abandoned building. It is filthy. The clients are weird. The hotel clerk could care less whether we left. Her concern was whether we paid for lunch. The one and only thing in its favor. The view. Better served to stay in Cefalu for the same. Do not make the same mistake we did.

Great rooms, stunning balcony views, really helpful front seats staff. It’s a truly beautiful hotel! The live music on Saturday nights is fun. The pool is beautiful and actually warm enough to swim in. The stairs down to the sea are nice and the swimming is fabulous. The older gentleman who offers shuttle rides to the port is so sweet and helpful. Unfortunately there is a total disconnect with the food and beverage team and the rest of the amazing staff. The breakfast that is included with your room, is supposed to run until 10:30, but you should really plan to be finished by 10:00, because that’s when the staff starts to break everything down and nothing gets refilled throughout the service, unless you ask. Every single day for 5 days, we had to ask for the tea caddy to be stocked and for the hot water to be filled. The regular water was also empty. The person working the breakfast isn’t interested in your experience at all. There are some very nice pastries but they are fairly picked over by 10:00, including the pool attendant collecting a large platter to place on the pool bar for throughly the day. There is not one single vegetable (not one!) and the fruit selection is very minimal, sliced oranges and 1 other rotating item. Most mornings, I just asked for a couple hard boiled eggs and that’s all I ate. After watching this for 4 days, on the 5th day, the breakfast host wouldn’t even give me a hard boiled egg. I did tell him I couldn’t eat anything else, but it didn’t matte

The location is fantastic, some 30 m high on a cliff facing a Cristal clear sea. The salted sea water swimming pool is gorgeous, very wide, deep enough on one side to allow jumping from one of the two springboards. A private ramp and stairs led you to the sea level, where small platforms host sun beds and umbrellas. We choose to book a cheaper non sea view room (with private bathroom) and were given a large room at the third level, facing Lipari harbour and the sea. Stunning view. The breakfast is fine, continental and Italian, most of the many bakeries are home made, genuine and tasteful. Something to improve in the service, but take it easy, you are on holiday and not on a business schedule. The light lunch restaurant at the swimming pool has a nice choice of salads and typical Sicilian dishes, arancini and others. The room is wide, the bed is comfortable, the air conditioning works well and it is silent. Lipari town with many restaurants and a small archeological museum is within 15 minutes slow walking, however you can rent a bicycle, an electric motorcycle, and taxis operate around. My best experience, hope to be back for many years in future.
