"This was a truly terrible experience, awful in every way. We booked two family rooms, which cost over a thousand [currency unit]. In the middle of the night, the AC stopped cooling, and all four kids in our two families were so hot they couldn't sleep. We had to open our room doors and walk into the hallway just to feel a bit of coolness. It was 00:41 AM, and it was so bad. We didn't dare try to switch hotels at that point, but we honestly wanted to. I've stayed at four or five of the Baisheng hotels in Xiamen, and they've all been great. But this one in Longyan? It was worse than a motel. It feels like the hotel was trying to save on electricity by turning off the central air conditioning. Honestly, it's just bizarre and ridiculous."

"On the first day, I booked a king-size bed with a city view. The hotel didn't tell me and directly upgraded the room type. Then the hotel's soundproofing was very poor. The noise from the cannons was so loud that I couldn't sleep. I slept until the afternoon. When I extended the room, I was directly allowed to stay in the upgraded room type! It's really a rip-off! More than 400 became more than 500, and more than 700 on the third day! It was so noisy that I could hear it clearly when I moved a chair in the room upstairs. I pressed the Do Not Disturb button, and the waiter opened the door and came in when you were sleeping. Rubbish hotel! Really rubbish, the room was moldy and damaged everywhere! Everyone should be careful when staying here! I took a few photos at random, everyone can see!"

There are more stores selling mechanical and electrical appliances in the surrounding area, but fewer restaurants."

"The hotel's amenities exceeded my expectations, addressing all the pain points of business travelers: the room door locks gave me a great sense of security, and the pillows were similar to those used at Atour Hotels. Even the placement of the toilet paper dispenser in the bathroom was perfectly convenient for guests! This price is truly excellent value! I used to think Hanting Hotels were somewhat low-end, but this experience has completely changed my mind. From now on, I'll choose Hanting whenever possible for business trips!"

"Had a one-night stay in a historic 'tulou' (earthen building). **Amenities**: It has everything you need. Parking was easy for self-drivers. There's a section of road to get in that's quite dark at night (but the stars were super bright!). I'd recommend arriving during the day if possible. **Cleanliness**: Looks like the owner cleans it themselves. **Environment**: Absolutely beautiful, and the air is great. Perfect for doing some Baduanjin (a form of Qigong) in the morning. There's a small stream right in front of the tulou. **Service**: The landlady is an excellent cook, and I had some great conversations with both her and the landlord – they're very chatty. I even forgot some items, and the landlord proactively reminded me and mailed them back. So grateful for that!"

What mak it extra special was meeting the friendly innkeeper, a 6th generation descendant of the family that built and preserved this Tulou. He shared stories and local insights making the whole experience even more meaningful. The room was simple yet clean and comfortable, blending rustic charm with basic modern comforts. I got to enjoy authentic Hakka meals, lovingly prepared and bursting with homestyle flavor, perfect after a day of exploring. Waking up in the peaceful village setting, watching the locals go about their daily lives, and hearing the birds chirping outside, it's a rare, soulful escape from the city."
