Lovely would recommend. Cheap and cheerful. Don’t know why people are so negative about this place, I would stay here again. Clean, beds made everyday, clean towels, friendly staff. Located twenty minute walk from the square, and the souks. Off licence around the corner, which sells plenty of beer, wine and spirits. £11.00, for a bottle of wine and six beers. Highly recommended!!!

We checked in to our deluxe room, and it was a horrible stay. First off, the deluxe room building is the furthest building away from the hotel, and by the time we get to our room, the view from our balcony is of a construction site and parking lot. Our room had a particularly strong vinegar smell to it, and we asked to move rooms. We were told that every deluxe room was sold out and we would be able to move rooms the next day. Next day comes around and we didn’t hear from the hotel. Every call to guest services took at least 3-5 minutes until someone answered or called back. We also came back to our hotel room unlocked, and it seemed housekeeping didn’t truly close our door when they cleaned it. On our last night, the A/C didn’t seem to work. We called guest services and the lady I spoke to told me that it was turned off for the whole hotel. When asked why or when will it be turned back on, she abruptly interrupts me and says I’m transferring you to the front desk. I waited for at least 2 minutes on the phone before someone from the front desk to answer my call, and he informs me that someone will come check our A/C. We love staying at different hotels in different countries and had no issues with other hotels in Marrakech, however, our stay at Movenpick was very underwhelming and staff didn’t seem to care at all. This has been a very awful experience, and hope that the hotel management can make a much better experience and improvement for others.

NE RESERVEZ PAS - AVOID AT ALL COSTS- This hotel must be avoided at all costs!!!!! Do not trust positive ratings, they cannot be trusted and have been paid for. Evitez cet hotel a tout prix!!!! Ne croyez pas les avis postifs, achetes a moindre cout par cet hotel. Ditry bedsheets provided everyday, stained towels everyday, broken plugs in the bathrooms (!!!!), no AC, very small pool, broken shower heads, a very aggressive manager. We left before the end of our stay to a different hotel. This place is not safe! Draps sales, literie douteuse, piscine trop petite, equipements a l'abandon, un manager aggressif, prises murales exposees dans les salle de bains!!, draps dechires, Nous avons exige un remboursement de nos frais. Nous avons quittes l'hotel avant la fin de notre sejour. Nous n'etions pas en securite!

We just arrived home from a fantastic week in Marrakesh after staying at this superb resort. There was not a single negative to our stay and the hotel and facilities truly were a desert paradise. From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, we were looked after by the staff in all aspects. From the receptionists to bar staff and the cleaners to the entertainment team, everyone was so friendly, helpful and fun. Our room was fantastic as well with traditional tiles and decor, it had all the necessities we needed. The double bed was huge and so comfy! The entertainment was fantastic all week with plenty of different activities to during the day as well fun shows at night. The members of the team really made the effort to know you personally too. The food was absolutely amazing as well, from Moroccan dishes to plates around the world, there was always something to choose! The desserts deserve their own review because they were incredible! The excursions on offer were also very reasonably priced and helped to contribute to this memorable trip. The free shuttle bus into Marrakesh Town center was reliable and plentiful. All in all, this was the best way to visit Morocco for the first time. We were sad to leave but happy we stayed here. I would recommend this resort to anyone. Thank you Sol Oasis Marrakesh!

This was the second day of my staying. First of all, I’m really grateful to Mr.Nifaoui and Mr. Adli. All of people are facing fear of corona including people who work there but they are really helpful and understanding. I’m so satisfied of this stay even I couldn’t go outside of the hotel. I can see how nice people here is and how amazing Marrakech is.

I booke the Savoy due to its proximity to a business convention and because most other hotels were sold out. I was able to experience the suite and the regular room. The rooms are well sized and clean with all amenities (shampoo, gel etc) available. The breakfast has a good selection of local specialties and western items. Staff is overall friendly and aiming to do a good job. However, here is we’re the hotel (in my opinion) missed the mark of the 5 star experience. While I genuinely believe that staff is aiming to do a good job, I don’t think they are well trained. - I tried to get additional water by calling housekeeping on different occasions, it turned out impossible. No one was picking up. Upon calling the operator, still nothing happened - Getting my laundry done was a similar experience. I called the dedicated number for laundry service and no one picked up. Then I called the operator and explained the situation and was assured someone would come. Again - no show. - The remote control in my second room was broken. I tried to call housekeeping. To no avail. The guest relations manager called me because they confused two rooms and accidentally gave me a room that was clear intended for honeymooners (which I tried to explain to the gentleman who brought me to the room, but he insisted and showed me the paper from reception..) I explained to her that the remote was broken, she assured me someone would come, but no one ever did replace the remote control. - I tried to book a tour through the concierge. (In person). When I got to him, he asked me to sit down and told me he would give me a brochure. After 20min, he was helping other guests (who came after me) and I still sat there without a brochure. I ended up booking my tours online, which turned out perfect. There are however people who made the stay better. Ayu - from room service. A young gentleman who learned my coffee and organized soya milk. (I ordered my morning coffee because housekeeping would not leave any milk or powdered milk…) Rachid - one of the porters. I had forgotten my plug. The hotel send me a converter but didn’t have plugs. He gave me his personal plug until I bought one. The hotel is ok if the price is right. I think making it 5 star is a bit of a stretch given that personnel is not well trained.

The location is right by the sea, the scenery is very good, the downstairs is the beach. The end of the hotel can see the endless Atlantic! The room is not facing the sea (maybe there are very few, the estimated price is very high), but the balcony of every room can see the sea! The room is very large, clean and comfortable, and the internet is very good. The room has a kitchen, the tableware is also in line, you can make your own instant noodles. Moroccan things are not very appetizing, or noodles! Especially if you have been in Morocco for a few days, you are tired of eating Taji pot and other foods. At this time, a bowl of instant noodles can make you burst into tears! When it comes to buying instant noodles, you have to mention that the Wanda's commercial center (one-twentieth of Wanda's) is next to the hotel. This is one of the few super-comprehensive markets in Casablanca. This is a wealthy area. Carrefour in the mall, everything! There are also fast food such as KFC and McDonald's in the mall. This place is not far from the Hassan II Mosque, just take a taxi! You are a tourist, the driver does not give you a watch, you can price! (Reference price: Hasan II Mosque 30 Dirham, train station voyageurs train station 50 Dirham)

An attractive resort with friendly, helpful staff, but the food offering could have been improved in terms of variety. The resort is beautifully presented, in the style of a riad, with internal courtyards. There is a large swimming pool, which unfortunately is not heated and was therefore freezing cold, even on a day when the temperature was in the high 30s C. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and particular thanks go to Khalid at Reception for the assistance he provided on a couple of occasions. Whilst the resort has four restaurants, there was only ever one open at a time, with the Moroccan restaurant never open during the week, which was disappointing. With the exception of a couple of days when there was a large corporate party at the resort, occupancy appeared to be quite low during the period of my stay, which may have impacted restaurant opening. The quality of the food was fine, but choices were limited, with first courses and desserts always the same at both lunch, at the Pool Bar, and dinner, at The Cat. Having said that, the patisserie provided for dessert, whilst repetitive, was excellent. It would also be helpful if dishes were labelled, as it was not always easy to tell what exactly was on offer.

Our stay at the Akabar was very disappointing, and in our opinion the hotel needs a complete overhaul. For instance, we found the following in need of attention. The reception is not updated we were told on arrival we had no reservation, this was because the main administration was not in sync with the desk. There was no hot water in the bathroom for our weeks stay, even though the engineers came and inspected and told us to the contrary. The extractor fan was not working. Shower head was falling off the wall. Toilet roll holder was broken. The W/C syphon stuck from time to time. Bed side light was not working. There was only one english speaking program on the TV and that was CNN news, and even that went off eventually. Phone did not work for the duration of the stay. The Restaurant breakfast had nothing warm except coffee or tea all food was cold. The steak ordered in the evening was not fit for shoe leather and had to be sent back. After the first two days of settling in we decided to eat out just up the road, it was far superior and of equal pricing. The Akabar Hotel should be re-rated, in fact down rated to something less than the THREE star it holds, it was a real disappoin**ent.
