We are driving down the I75 south and at around 4:30pm we are looking for a hotel to spend the night, we are members of the Marriott Points program, so we saw The Fairfield Inn in Middletown Ohio and asked for their rates which the very friendly receptionist gave us a great price with an upgraded room. The rate includes breakfast which was good, had a good selection of options, on check in we got a goody bag each with snacks and bottled water. The coffee in the reception area was probably the best I have had in a hotel lobby and it’s available 24 hours as well as hot chocolate etc. There are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby so you can get food to eat easily. We are glad that we stumbled across this hotel, the staff including the breakfast lady are terrific ambassadors for Marriott Hotels, Middletown and the state of Ohio.

On a positive note, the room at this Hampton Inn was totally updated and was the nicest Hampton we have ever been at. Everything was very comfortable ... bed, bedding, bathroom, etc. etc. and we loved the decor. We had booked this hotel a few days ahead of time, and upon reading the reviews, I noticed that the noise from I-75 was very loud in the rooms facing in that direction, so I had requested a room on the top floor and away from the busy highway, and felt that this would solve the problem. When we arrived at the hotel around 5, we were told that there were no King rooms left on the top floor, so that was fine. When we arrived at our room, we found that our room was facing and very close to I-75, regardless of our request a few days before. The noise went on all night long. I spoke to a nice lady the next morning at the front desk, and she said that just because we requested a certain room type and location, there is no guarantee that we will get it. As lovely as this hotel was, we probably would not stay there again unless we could be guaranteed a room away from I-75. There seemed to be a lot of places to eat around that area, so that is handy.

If you are wanting to stay in Hamilton, it is really the only hotel. There are cheaper options within 10 miles, but they are 15 to 20 minutes travel time. Bathroom had some chips in the sink vanity and the big bottles of shampoo attached to the shower was empty, but room overall was pretty nice. Good options for food right across the street and nice area. Our rate, which was about $25 higher than other hotels further away did not include breakfast. They do have breakfast there, but it's at a higher cost. Free parking is a plus.

Everything about this hotel was off. Our physical keys did not work, the front desk staff was severely understaffed. The food area was completely messy, dirty dishes not collected, the food was quite frankly - terrible. Plus, I never got my Diamond food credit. The king suite with separate sleeping are not private. The double doors do not exist between the room and living area. The sheets and pillows for the couch m/sleeper sofa are kept downstairs - I had to go retrieve them. The front desk person was swamped, so it took awhile. The elevators are very far away from the rooms. Very strange. The price was great though! So I guess you get what you pay for.
