"The owner of the homestay is the home of the three generations of Tangka inheritor Niangji Painting Master. He enthusiastically taught his children to feel Tangka culture, and took the trouble to teach him to draw Tangka until the early morning [happy]. In the early morning, Niangji also asked his wife to prepare a typical Tibetan breakfast for us, which was rich and delicious. You can feel the Yi-style houses here, and you can also feel the Tangka culture, which is great!"

"Aside from not being able to help with logistics getting to/from, the hotel was good.
Clean big rooms facing the river. Excellent quality bedding and furniture. Beautiful ******* property with a cozy common room full of lush vegetation.
Great location - walking distance to the attractions.
Staff is always there and always helpful.
The only point where they fell short is not being able to help with advice or coordinate any transportation to and from Xiahe. If you stay there, investigate and confirm all bus times on your own, and arrange yoir own transport.
Otherwise, the accommodation itself is perfect."

MMiqi-CMXXIIIEvery detail here absolutely radiates authentic ******* charm! From the intricately painted beams and columns to the hand-woven yak wool blankets, from the exquisite copper butter lamps to the vibrant Thangka murals, this guesthouse seamlessly blends traditional ******* aesthetics into every nook and cranny. The owner truly treats guests like family, greeting us with a ceremonial white Hada the moment we arrived. Each evening, they thoughtfully brought warm butter tea to our room and shared local legends, speaking in earnest, albeit broken, Chinese. What truly stayed with me was opening my window in the crisp morning to see prayer flags fluttering against the majestic backdrop of snow-capped mountains, with the gentle chime of yak bells carried on the breeze. It felt as if the entire plateau was whispering a welcome. This is more than just a place to stay; it's an immersive dive into ******* culture. My soul felt utterly filled with purity and warmth. If you're looking to experience the most authentic Tibet, look no further than this guesthouse!
GGuest UserThe guesthouse is super close to Labrang Monastery, within walking distance. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was soft, and the lighting was great, making for a very comfortable stay. The owners were very thoughtful; they even provided oxygen cylinders, so there was absolutely no need to worry about altitude sickness. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Xiahe! 👏👏
MM491892****The room was huge, and the three windows were gorgeous; staying there felt like being surrounded by scenery. I could even wake up in the morning and watch the marmots outside from my bed, haha. The breakfast was delicious too 😋, except it was a bit pricey. The view was absolutely stunning. Someone helped with my luggage, but the check-in process, which required handwritten registration, was so slow, haha.
GGuest UserWe encountered a stormy night, and staying in the stargazing room was a fantastic experience! However, the shared bathroom we booked this time wasn't very convenient, so I would recommend booking a room with a private bathroom.
DDingwentingThis is a newly opened B&B with large and clean rooms. The location is easy to find and very close to the scenic area. There are restaurants and supermarkets just outside the door, which is very convenient and worth recommending. The boss is very enthusiastic and helps with luggage, and the waiters are also very considerate.
CCricalisThis is my favorite hotel on this trip. I like the quiet courtyard, the warm room, the big tree outside the window, and the light and shadow of the sun shining into the room. It can be seen that this hotel is carefully built, and the owner's feelings are reflected in every detail. It was originally just a simple overnight stay, but I didn't want to leave.
GGuest UserStaying at Kang Sang's Home is the true encounter with the gentleness and healing power of Tibet. The guesthouse is built in an authentic ******* courtyard style, with a subtle ******* incense aroma permeating the air. Prayer flags, carvings, and ethnic-style furnishings showcase meticulous attention to detail, filling every corner with a human touch. The rooms are bright, clean, and odor-free, and essential high-altitude amenities like warmth and hot water are readily available, ensuring a comfortable stay. The owners are incredibly welcoming and friendly, offering opportunities to chat about local customs and traditions. The simple breakfasts are hearty and delicious. Away from the hustle and bustle, tranquility and comfort await. Slow down here and experience the unique serenity of Tibet – the warmest refuge on any trip.
GGuest UserIncredible stay at the Xicheng Inn. The hotel is very cozy with fascinating decor. I loved spending time in the third-floor library, filled with cultural artifacts, games, and books – you'll never get bored! The hospitality from the hotel staff is also unmatched. I stayed alone but never felt lonely. They take guests on walks around the city to discover ******* culture. I recommend staying here not only for the comfort of the hotel but also for the wonderfully warm atmosphere.
GGuest UserThis is great hotel and with a few minor improvements it could be an outstanding hotel. It's location couldn't be better as it is directly across the street from the entrance to the Longram Monastery and very near the main street. The hotel has an interesting ******* character and has its own good restaurant. We were assigned a very large and comfortable room. The staff were at all times friendly and welcoming. My minor complaints were the absence of any English speakers (admittedly an issue at almost all the hotels we have stayed at in China), the bathroom towels were a bit raged, and the internet connection was weak.
WWuhouhongcha1668The rooms are well equipped and the room service and restaurant service are satisfactory. Two problems: First, the room temperature was too high, about 30 degrees, and there was no temperature control. I reported this to the hotel, and they said that the heating temperature in Xiahe is always that high and the hotel cannot control it. We opened the windows and drew the curtains, but didn't dare turn on the lights because there was a hotel across the street. We couldn't fall asleep in bed at all. It felt like we were in a scorching hot room with no ventilation or air conditioning. It was minus 14 degrees outside, but it was suffocatingly hot inside! We, an elder who was almost 70 years old, had to travel the next day, so we didn't sleep the whole night and just endured the scorching heat.
