Xiahe Hotels with Wifi

"The best aspect of this stay was by far the owner. He was incredibly, incredibly helpful and friendly — from the moment I walked in the door he offered me a cup of tea, then provided tea and bread the next morning for breakfast, offered advice on what to see in the area, arranged a car to take me to Dalzong Lake, and finally even found me a spot on a local minibus going to my next destination. I couldn’t have done half the things I did during my stay in Xiahe without his advice and efforts on my behalf, so that alone made staying here fully worthwhile! It’s worth mentioning that the guesthouse’s architecture is also absolutely beautiful, and everything looks quite new. It’s located down a quiet side alley off of one of the main commercial streets in town, which seems like the ideal placement. On the accommodations: I stayed in one of the two tents erected on the second floor of the guesthouse. This was largely quite a good experience! The bed was very comfortable (with a heated pad), water and towels provided, etc. The tents are not in a closed-off area, but rather on the second floor/balcony area that also is used for sitting, serving tea, etc., so privacy is somewhat limited, but the whole guesthouse is relatively quiet anyway so it doesn’t feel like a public space. My only suggestions for improvement would be related to the bathroom: during my stay, the shared bathroom for the tents was a sort of temporary-style booth installed in the corner of the room with a toilet, sink, and showerhead. The bathroom was very clean and everything inside worked well, but its sliding door separated from the wall enough that there was always a substantial enough space on one side or the other that could be seen through (the door also didn’t lock and slid back and forth easily). The booth was also small enough that, realistically, I think it would be a bit of a challenge to actually use it to shower. If possible it might be worth looking into some simple fixes to improve these situations, but otherwise I have no complaints!"

"Probably the largest hotel in Xiahe. It's a short walk to Labrang Monastery. There's no air conditioning, which might be because it doesn't get hot here in the summer. They said they had floor heating, but it wasn't turn-on yet when we checked in, and it got a bit chilly after the rain. The hotel has a restaurant, and you can order dinner, though I found it a bit pricey – I guess that's common for tourist spots. Breakfast was decent, and the cleanliness was acceptable. Overall, I didn't feel like there were any major downsides."

"We were still traveling a few days ago, so I didn't have time to write a review. Now that I'm home, I want to give a proper review of this ******* guesthouse. Out of all the places we stayed during our Gannan road trip, this was by far the most satisfying. The entire guesthouse has a rich ******* ambiance, and the room's hygiene and facilities were impeccable. What's even more noteworthy is the ******* clothing experience – it was truly fantastic! All 8 of us took photos and group pictures in the garden, and the owner even took them for us. The accommodation is also very close to Labrang Monastery, which we walked to. I highly recommend it to everyone!"

"I had a very pleasant stay in this friendly family-run hotel. Decorated in the colourful local ******* style, the place has all necessary amenities including a restaurant and a bar, to make it a comfortable all-in-one stay. Located on the doorstep of the key attraction - Labrang monastery - and right in the heart of the old town, by the little picturesque creek, it is an ideal base for exploring the surroundings. The staff are super helpful and would be eager to make all necessary arrangements for you such as local drivers, etc. The hotel owner is a local ******* man, and if you are lucky and he is around (they have another property in the nearby Sangke Grassland) ,he would be generous with his time passionately sharing his extensive knowledge of the region and China in general. Feel free to ask for some suggestions and routes, as the owner and his Dutch wife also used to run a travel agency). And a small tip (based on my experience): give it an extra day or two for your body to adapt to the high altitude, to fully enjoy this special place!"

"This is an authentic Tibetan-style wooden building. The owner said the entire house is built with mortise and tenon joints, without a single nail, so it must have been quite expensive to build. The decor is elegant and very unique, the bedding is comfortable and clean, and toiletries are well-stocked. The room rate is affordable, offering great value for money! The guesthouse is only about twenty meters from the main street, making it very convenient for dining and breakfast. As a family-style guesthouse, if you're staying with your own group, the atmosphere is excellent. However, if it's a mix of unfamiliar guests, it can be a bit disruptive. Overall, the stay was a good experience!"

"This guesthouse is very near Labrang Monastery, within 5 mins walking. It stands in a small street next to the Xia river. There're many restaurants around, both western and local food. The hosts were very friendly and kind. Our room was on the second floor and they helped us to lift our luggage upstairs. Downstairs is a restaurant you can enjoy easy meal and good coffee/tea. The decoration is nice. The house is bright and the air flow is great. There're spots both upstairs and downstairs to sit to relax. And if you add their WeChat they would answer every question quickly. The bus station is around 1.5 km away. You can walk easily there and with taxi it costs only 2 yuan per person."

"The first night I came to Gannan, I stayed at a clean, comfortable and warm homestay. Miss sister was enthusiastic. I knew that we would be a little bit anti-reverse when we first came. I helped with the luggage. I gave Hada with a sense of ritual. The room was spacious and clean. It was not cold at all. Parking was very convenient. The yard was also very quiet. It is also convenient to go to Labrang Temple. The public areas are decorated in Tibetan style, the impression is very good, and the back itinerary is full of expectations."

"The guesthouse is located in the heart of the scenic area, right in front of the White Stone Cliff, offering stunning views from its windows. It's an ideal choice for tourists with cars, as parking is convenient. Staying in a guesthouse within the scenic area avoids the hassle of queuing for sightseeing buses and allows you to enjoy the tranquility of Ganjia Secret Realm in the mornings and evenings. With the crowds gone, you can freely explore and take photos – fantastic! Furthermore, the guesthouse owners are incredibly hospitable. Free breakfast is provided, and the booked room with a view has a private bathroom. It's clean and refreshing. The sunroom is warm and bright! Highly recommended! The staff are sincere and attentive, which is very satisfying."

"The room was small and poorly soundproofed; you could hear your neighbors talking. The toilet seat had fallen off, and there was no hairdryer in the room, making it inconvenient to wash your hair. The only downside was the beautiful courtyard, where you could relax in the evenings. Definitely avoid the restaurant next door!"
